Hey David, Do you think that you can take the time and post a short video of what are the correct sizes for the Polarized antenna! at 5.8 GHz ?? I have only 5.8 and 2.4 GHz, and the antennas that you sited are on different frequencies than the most popular! thanks!
Hi there, Can you please post the link for the modded 900mhz antenna mod? please, i tried to pull out the rubber part of the one i have right now and i think i broke it, i thought this antennas are like 2.4ghz ones, u can ditch the plastic part. so please post the link, i am using the antenna that came with 1500mw 900mhz hobbyking fpv kit.
Thanks guys for the mention of IBCRAZY on rcgroups...he IS a really nice guy who has done a lot of hard work bringing up the bar on FPV antennas...His threads are worth their weight in gold....Spend time there...read them all...they are well worth your time if you want to get into this FPV phenomenon.
@flitetest So what is the best frequency to use here in the US? I could fly R/C with 72mhz or 2.4 ghz, so I am pondering between 900 mhz or 2.4 ghz for the AV link.
One suggestion guys, you might wanna use simple sketches or simple animations to illustrate whatever you are trying to explain because like me, there quite a bunch of young aeromodellers out there and they may not have studied electrical yet so they might not be able to visualize and grasp what you are trying to explain.... the visual illustrations would help a lot. Thumbs up if you agree.
Ok now that we got the polarization thingy out of the way .Which is the cheapest and which has the best reception? heheheh Oh Josh you got that? Your face was twisted more than that little butterfly antenna. I`m sure you understood all what he said. HEheheh
David, I noticed that weird looking antenna on your tricopter long time ago. So that was experiment to test circular polarization! Great! And in this video those circular polarized receiver antennas are great! Does it requires any special equipment to build those antennas?
i had clear picture 5 miles 3500 ft up with 2.4 immerson .. duo 2400 .. 24 dbi hyper gain dish antenna and 14 dbi patch antenna .. this just confused the heck out of me
@rcsupercarz The Cloverleaf antenna is circular polarized. You can you two of them for a omnidirectional setup or you can use the helical on the receiver to have a directional setup.
pay pal took 300$ out my bank account. wow dont trust PP with your bank.

This is EXACTLY why I went with Davids Design, and the kk board. This guy is a tricopter Icon.
If your making his plans on his site ( I call it the Windestal Tri) , and want a cnc cut body email me here on youtube, and have it cnc cut to spec.
saves you time and its designed by the best!!

Yes I know not many people have knowledge about "how this suffs is working"-
most people they know only how to switch on and off - and thats all....
So that's why there is a big thanks for videos like this !!!
I know this is really just a "surface" but better than nothing...
we need more fpv videos !!!!
Thanks again...

@lolergramCCCP 0.8mm copper coated MIG welding wire is what I use. It holds it's shape really good and is easy to work with.
