goofygoat2009 if you watched the late show ..sully sullinburger or something like that was on it and the whole flight crew was being interviewed ...the reason why the tail is so far down is because someone opened the door(hoping to escape or something) in the back and right after they landed ( of course ) water started rushing in like it was no ones business and one of the ladys that was on the flight said she was neck deep in the water so..thats why the tail is so far down =)

I heard from one passenger interview that everyone rushed to the rear of the plane after it crash landed, only to exit in the on the wing section. That probably explains why the rear was underwater quickly.

I'm glad that everyone was safe. The pilot made a wise decision by landing in the river instead of trying to get to an airport. He saved hundreds of lives by landing in the river.

The heroes were the pilot and the ferrymen. The pilot brought it down safely and the ferry operators were there to the rescue within three minutes of touchdown, well before the officials.

Good job on reporting this miracle. This is a good example how America is still the strongest and bravest country in the world. The pilot is definetly a hero and the passengers were also brave by staying calm and not freaking out.

Anyplace else but the water or an airport and EVERYONE would have been killed, along with lots of people on the ground. The miracle is that the pilot had enough altitude to get to the river.

While working on my computer I heard sirens..nothing new in NYC, but the sound persisted. I looked out my window and saw an airplane in the Hudson River surrounded by boats. Emergency vehicles arrived on the scene. A miracle...all 151 aboard survived. Frigid air temp 11 degrees, Water temp 42.Plane left LaGuardia headed for Charlotte NC,Cause ?birds.

Look at any plane crash in the water, in history -- when has THIS ever happened? If a bird can take out a big flying beercan (airplane,aluminum) then how can it fly 400 mph into the water and not be wrecked?
