I dunno what peoples beef is. I loved RE4 and I loved RE5. I haven't been scared by an RE game since 2, but they're still fun, atmospheric games. I get my scares from Dead Space, sometimes Silent Hill, and Dead Island was surprisingly solid in that department, too.

I hated RE5 for it's story, enemies, character changes, zombies with AKs, the fact that it stole every boss battle/ hard enemy from RE4 yet made it worse in my opinion... There was still atmosphere, thrill, and scares in RE4, with the regenerators and Dr.Salvador. The chainsaw wielding enemies in RE5 were push overs.
