Barton has just been terrible. He is the first base equivalent to Jason Kendall. No power, no speed, no average. All he does is take pitches, draw an occasional walk, and hit opposite field bloop shots. I can't wait until Chris Carter gets to the majors and takes his job.

I hope he turns it around as much as anyone.  But last year he had the worst statistical season for any every-day first baseman. I wouldn't mind seeing Giambi back sharing some time at first.

My point basically is that if he were on any contending team, he'd probably still be in AAA. He'll probably do better by next year.
