  • check out my vids on my fit

  • motorweek is my main source for car reviews if it has a problems they point it out and move on and dont complain unlike others they are positive about their cars and do performance tests which i love LONG LIVE MOTORWEEK

  • the 2008-present Honda Fit is assembled in

    Japan

    Thailand

    Brazil

    Greater Noida, India

    United Kingdom

    Indonesia

    Pingtung, Taiwan

    Guangzhou, China

    Philippines

  • LOL i love how 2 years ago we were complaining about $3 per gallon xD

  • pretty cool little throwaway car but i think the horse power would really piss me off at the highway entry.imagine how slow it will be to merge into a high speed freeway on an uphill onramp lol i would hate it here in pasadena cali.cool car anyway

  • @cagonesss highway entry is no problem with the standard transmission. My favorite part of the day is leaving work and getting up to 80mph in 3rd gear while getting on the highway!

  • it looks like a rat...

  • @T77406 Or the fiesta

  • probably a bad place to ask this, but as an 18 year old looking for a cheap new car thats fun to drive, anyone able to tell me the 0-60 on this thing?

I'm comparing it to the Aveo (I know, its complete shit. Its getting an update next year), a Mazda 2, the Hyundai Accent, and most would expect a Toyota Yaris, but I hate Toyotas, so I don't wanna look at it.

  • @tjmick1992 i reccomend looking at the fiesta as well. the 0-60 on these ranges, ive seen other reviews for it. they range from 8.5-9.5 seconds

  • No performance figures, slalom test or ACTUAL fuel mileage figures...I wonder why?

  • @TechMaven I know right! I think motorweek is totally bias in some form, they always have been!

  • its a stretched out ep3

  • fucking gas prices, made people fall in love with an ugly looking peice of shit like the fit

  • @pkidro I diagree about the looks, my friend owns a 2008 fit LX, and it looks pretty nice compared to some other honda's out there. And it's nice to drive by gas stations...

  • I just noticed that the front looks almost like the Acura RSX.

  • psh automatic hah

  • voltswagans area a sack of crap they look nice and are not reliable at all check jdpower and seen overall quality and see your they stand honda is way better

  • Learn how to spell Volkswagen before you lie about their reliability.

  • Honda Fit is a neat little car. Stylish, practical. Definitely designed to appeal to young people, with its funky dash and sporty wedge shape. But really people, it's one of the most expensive econo cars out there and also one of the thirstiest. Every seems so blinded by the Honda badge they don't notice this. The typical econo car shopper is looking for something cheap, reliable, and good on gas. The Fit only fits 1 of those categories.

  • I agree. All hondas are like this. Honda's only Japanese competition is toyota. Think Toyota, an u think proven reliability bland looks. Think Honda u think proven reliability good looks, so they price them higher. Is it worth it? Thats up to u, but one thing, they hold their resale value like crazy...why?

  • They hold their resale value like crazy because they are in high demand used. They are in high demand used because of their reputation for quality and reliability. The perceived quality/reliability can be quite different from what cars actually deliver though. Cars perceived as "cheap" are sometimes the best bang for the buck. Just because a person spends a lot more on a car does not guarantee a superior car. That's just how it is. Sometimes the best used values are cars that depreciate fast.

  • I own a Civic, but I agree. The Fit is too expensive for its class and should get better milage than the Civic. The larger, more powerful Civic is more fuel efficient.

  • @palebeachbum How is the Fit "also one of the thirstiest". You have to look the new fuel economy ratings and realize they are not quite accurate in real world driving (even though they were adjusted 2 years ago to reflect that).

The Fit easily gets 10-15% higher MPG's than what you see on the specs sheet. Average highway MPG (60-70 MPH, 30-40 degree temps) is 40 to 45.

That actually beats some of the hybrids that are currently on the market.

  • In all actuality, the old fuel economy ratings weren't terribly accurate either. No matter what car I had, I always got above the EPA highway rating and lower than the city rating. I was basing my statement on the facts presented, not what might be possible.

  • @palebeachbum I get 34-36mpg with city rush hour in the morning and evening. Is that bad? I also don't drive like grandma either - this car is virtually impossible not to rev - so fun and a great grunty little engine sound!

  • From real world road tests I've read, milage is actually much better. Mid 30's city, low to mid 40's highway. Very cool little car. Sporty and stylish. With it's looks and interior, it definitely does not fit in the definition of what people consider a cheap "economy car".

  • I bought my 09 fit sport in June! I bought it rebuilt from a guy in sacremento CA..it had an after market sun roof and drove like new when i got it. on a bad week i avg around 42MPG, but the best i've gotten was 62MPG!!! Fantastic car!!

  • add a turbo and awd...+2 grand on the base price...and this lil fit will sell faster then grape kool aid in the ghetto!!

  • awd is in japan! and i have a guy who can import cars for me and i have a spare turbo somewhere...

  • I like the new Honda Fit. It would be a great car for me and all the crap I haul around. One thing I don't like is that little dip on the back of the roof. It looks weird. Other than that, I think the car looks cool. I currently drive a `97 Dodge Intrepid Sport, and it's seen better days. I have over 168,000 miles on it and it still runs great. The body does need work. All the dents and scratches on it came from me because the car is big and has bad blind spots.

  • I love this car.

  • Have a 2009 Revolution Orange Metalic Fit Sport. I love my car.

  • Why not mention a Mercedes? The TDI is 8,000USD more you idiot!

  • What makes the Fit a rice rocket?

  • fail comment

  • I am in totally love with this car. I drive a Toyota Yaris fully optional but since here in the middle east we only get the 1.3 L engine version. Which to be honest isn't the most powerful or responsive either. I would love to hit the road with the Jazz/Fit. But as far as the price is concerned for the fit in the states I am guessing it is too over priced for a car of its size. The Toyota Yaris is much better value for money which cost me around 13500 for the full option model. That is a 6G dif.

  • Im 46 and sold my 2003 Acura 3.2 CLS 6 speed and bought a Fit!! I just love the car. It's not my CL but that's why I bought it. It's a nice economy car, fun to drive, and getting 30 MPG in the city. It's excellent in fit in function. "pardon the pun"!! I'm very happy with the car.

  • How does it drive at 80mph? That's my only concern with this car. I'm wondering if its stable at 80 mph or shakes like crazy b/c of its narrow tires and small size.

  • The car drives really great at 80MPH. It's not the best riding car on the road due to it's short wheelbase, but it handles real well and has plenty of oomphhh at higher speeds.

  • at 100mph you feel like your in a go kart just passing traffic like cones.

  • @ontime2008

your pun might be where the name came from.

Everywhere else in the world, its called the Honda Jazz

  • Got my Sport a week ago. Paid $19,200 in a SF, CA suburb. Do not pay over MSRP of $19,430. If you can haggle the optional center arm rest console down to about $180, buy it. Too bad no sunroof. Otherwise an excellent car.

  • My lease was up on my Civic and I was going to get a new one. I test drove a Fit and was totally sold. I loved it. It is perfect for a younger person like me who goes camping/hiking/fishing and rarely has anyone in the back seat. I actually thought the interior was better than the Civic and the view is so open with all the windows. I just got the DX base model though (which I never see). I'm still waiting for it because they're still hard to get!

Thanks for posting this review. Very nice!

  • They seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive on dealer lots; it says a lot for the car. Congrats on yours and I hope you get it very soon!

  • I completely agree about the interior. The interior on the Civic is odd and the placement of the gauges isn't my cup of tea. My family just bought an 09 TSX and the Fit comes far closer to that level of quality than the Civic when it comes to value for your dollar.

  • That's what I thought as well. The interior on the Civic just didn't feel right for me. I'm not a big fan of the speedometer being above the other stuff and announcing in huge digital numbers how fast I'm going. Not only does it tell anyone else in the car that you're going too slow or too fast, it's annoying as hell to the driver because it's so close to your view out the window. The Fit interior felt sporty and classy.

  • @eepruls i like the civic...but for somereason i love the fit a lot more

  • honda is the best car company in the world and so smart, and this car shows it. I do find there prices are way too high which is why people are turning to hyundai which offers alot of value and a very reliable package as well. With the economy is canada and the usa so bad and credit lending so hard to come by, the car market should lower prices!

  • good comment.

  • they may be high prices, but they do give u quite a bit of car for the money, not to mention hondas reliability
