WILL Y"ALL STOP REPLYING ON THIS if yah could read i was talking bout MY HAIR NOT her's it's pretty obvious her hair HAS curl otherwise she wouldn't be doing the video
LOVE your videos!!! Can you please tell me where to buy the shea butter that you use? I have heard that some unrefined is not good and I do not want to buy from a bad company. So I am looking for advice please. Also, I cannot find a denman brush anywhere! Where did you buy yours from. Thanks so much and love you videos as usual!! God bless!
thank you so much for the reply. I just ordered shea butter from another site (another user used it and I checked the site out first too) Also, thanks because I never thought of Sally's for a denman brush-makes total sense! I try not to shop at the beauty supply stores in our neighborhoods. God bless!
Thank you for this video! I don't know how I missed it before. Your hair type is almost if not exactly like mine so your videos are so helpful. I am waiting patiently to get some length like yours though (I have been natural for 1 1/2 years)
I keep hearing all the rave about the Denman brush. I've been wanting to try it soon. I can get curlies by passing my fingers through my wet hair with the Ic gel but I can only imagine them with a denman.
Have shea in fridge, ordered a large amount of raw shea today from butters-n-bars, bought ic olive gel yesterday. I love your clear, clean, articulate demos...keep up the good work, more videos, more videos..lol.lol.
can u please go to my channel and watch my video im only 16 years old and i am transitioning back to natural hair using braids and i have new growth and i just wanna kno if u can tell me or just give me an idea of what u think my hair type/texture is...thanks
(xSaffiieex)I don't really try alot of products so I wouldn't know, but a lot of ladies on youtube have define your curls type videos, I would check them out.
rustic beuty i think it would be better for my and your hair if you dont use a plastic brush because there are really hard and pull ur hair so i wuld use a ordinary brush the lack ones u know just a lil tip but if thats what u allways use then go a head but just a lil yip from me ok bye x x x
Hey RusticBeauty! I really appreciate your videos, they are very informative :) quick question, what is the name of the hair brush that you used, and where did you get it from?
not all black women get a perm because they think curly hair is bad. some just want a different look. although i don't like perms and don't recommend them, i wouldn't assume that a person with permed hair is struggling with confidence or something.
Well done I prefer when black girls look natural, please don't get caught up in the manipulation that straight is good and curly hair is bad. When I see black girls with straight hair I feel sad because I know it's a sign of weakness
Wondering if you ever tried this Kinky Curly Custard stuff. I'm seeing it on Youtube a lot. Srt8isis says it's the bomb. NO CHEMICALS either. Let us know.
However you're hair is so healthy and you got the stlying down, that you probably won't need it. LOL!
Rustic, if you try this method with the KCCC, you will DEFINITELY have less shrinkage. Just throwing that out there, but your hair is so pretty no matter what you do! ;)
I am too very happy to see you on Youtube. I have yet to see someone online with my hair texture. I love two strand twist and am pretty good at them. My twist outs are nice, but they never last and look as nice as yours do. I use shea butter, coconut oil, glycerine and maby other products (silmialr to yours). How can I make my twist out last longer w/o becoming fluffy.
(ashbucket87) It just depends on a lot of factors-how physically active you are, climate, winds, how thick your twists are, hair type..etc..I know my hair is going to eventually get messy, but I know I can have it a week looking pretty decent, after that it is up to me whether I re-twist or leave it. The key is to wear a satin cap as often as possible when you are not outdoors. Brushing your hair on a couch, pillow, constantly putting your fingers in your hair...all slowy mess your style up.
im so happy i came across your channel! i would see alot of black women with natural hair but none really like mine...well the extra extra healthy version of mine...lol you wouldnt believe i got so frustrated with my natural heat damaged hair today that i just started chopping. i have like this mini fro in the front and 12 inch hair in the back its kind of funny...but anyways keep up the good work!
If you want to try and go for a more defined look you should try putting your hair in big twists after you put in your products and brush. Then take them out when they are still damp, & continue to let the hair dry loose, I've done it this way & kept the style for about 3 days.
but for some reason everytime i use shea butter and the IC Gel, I get major residue. Like little white crumbs. So i tried to just use the IC Gel by itself and it DOES NOT hold my curls or waves. I don't know what i'm doing wrong b/c before i used IC GEL i used just some plan ol' PROAMP gel and it does way better for my hair than the IC GEL does. I don't know..guess i gotta play around with it! but great video!
do you put any oils like oive oil or coconut oil in your whipped shea butter, or do you just whip it plain? I've been natural for about two months now and it's nice to see someone managing natural coily hair instead of natural curly hair. Thank you for your videos. Now i can look as if i have curly hair!
(mslathomas711)I have two sets off shea butter. One that is plain and another that is whipped with coconut oil. In this video I am using plain shea butter that has not been whipped(or at least not by me) You gave me a great idea, I never thought to try this process with coconut oil and the IC gel...thanks!
(Haitianbeauty19) hey, I have not tried KCCC...EVERYBODY says it takes FOREVER to dry, and I dont really want to deal with that...I wish they had sample packs or something..LOL
(2buscuits)I am not really a gel person. I only use it to smooth my edges(which no gel has done to my standard) I love my shea butter-it is my first love. I have noticed when I put a lot of shea butter in my hair and then IC gel...little bits of shea butter crumbles emerge which I do not like. I have not used it for too many things YET, But at this point I would give it 6 afro points, 10 being the best.
I went to Sally's and picked up the jar of IC Styling Gel with Sparkle Lites and studied it for awhile. When I read, "Sparkle Lites" I thought maybe it had glitter in it or something. That may have been just me but, I didnt see anything but gel. What are the "Sparkle Lites"? Am I product challenged? lol
(2buscuits) I kinda thought the same, and I too didnt see anything inside. I dont know what "sparkle lites" is either, I tried googling it and didnt find anything. So you are not alone LOL
Your hair always looks fabulous! Just a tip, try totally saturating the hair with water, the water weighs the hair down then apply the gel the curls will be a little bigger and more defined. Love the vid!
Your hair is sooo beautiful!!! and THICK! Shea butter has been my best friend. I made a recipe of hair cream and it has done wonders! I love the coconut oil too
Also...before I begin trimming my ends, when you trim your ends, how do you go about trimming the back. If you bring your hair around to the front to trim, doesnt it cut at an angle? Can you do a video on trimming your ends in the back possibly?
...Yeah, water-based hair gel doesnt agree with my hair. I used to do the "hot water and grease" method before applying hair gel. Ive watched all of your videos and it seems to me that you spend a great deal of time preping your hair before you style. I recently purchased all of the products and tools you use. I planned to try the twist-outs yesterday but time didn't permit. Now its Sunday and I have to work tomorrow so ill wait until next week.
