  • This is awesome, love the commentary. I ride to uni and encounter the same stuff all the time. Crashed into a bloke on Swanston St bike path, he just stepped off the footpath without looking right into me, was going downhill and i had a bit of speed up too.

  • @theJoeshomshow That was a lesson for him

  • Y does that tripod thing look like triple dild.......never mind

  • @JrTdeath I think that's called a Freudian slip

  • I am so lucky to live where I do, I hardly ever have to contend with traffic like that. I feel sorry for you mate.

  • @TheMrbum It can be pretty scary

  • you live a fair way down St Kilda road'

  • @mightyjet777 Yes I do

  • I wouldn't be surprised if people in cars started getting huge fines for hitting a bike on the rodes. I could see that happening in the near future and its the retards who think they "own the roads" ( from some asshole) to make it happen. I ride to work a lot and i would feel much safer if a fine was doubled or tripled or if jail time was added to that. They have fines for semis and lower speed limits. Why cuz they are unsafe. Whats next cars wouldn't be surprised To the assholes

  • @32112347 It is a somewhat serious offence to hit a bike rider (or anyone) in a car

  • Comment removed

  • @32112347

"and its the retards who think they "own the roads" you just described 95% of the cyclists out there. Riding a bike on public roads is a privilege too. Most cyclists out there are arrogant and think they don't have to follow the rules and laws of the road. Reality check, you do. Cyclists get pissed because they almost get hit yet I've seen numerous cyclists almost cause a traffic collision between two cars because they failed to yield. Most of the cyclists are hypocrites (continued)

  • @32112347

Most of the cyclists are hypocrites who think that all cars should yield to them. Well when you run a stop sign, don't bitch when we had to slam on our brakes to avoid hitting you because you're too stupid to understand that the road is for EVERYONE. Ignorant cyclists are just as unsafe as a distracted motorist. You're the biggest idiot and hypocritical cyclists I've ever seen. Jail time, fines? How about jail time and fines for cyclists that break the laws of the road? dipshit.

  • @32112347

Just to clarify my point, I've seen cyclists TURN INTO A CAR LANE without checking their blind spot because they had to go around a obstacle. Resulting in the car next to you hitting the car in the other lane. It's just hilarious how cyclists bitch and moan "err the road is for everyone" but then act like it belongs to them. Unsafe? when you ride a bike on public roads designed for cars YOU'RE ACKNOWLEDGING AND ACCEPTING the dangers. Some people only think of themselves.

  • can't blame the road for lack of variety. in 5km you go from bits of serenity to bits where you're going fast or you're climbing, to bits where you're in the middle of an 80kph lane change maneouvre near queens rd. you get to shout at parked cars, pass close to melbournes unofficial red light district (greeves st if you're interested). you get to see office workers cruising with their lattes and female office workers with impecably tight business skirts. stop for a drink on acland! v a nice day

  • @lisitsamic There certainly is variety

  • good fella :)

  • @raru80 Cheers

  • Why on Earth do you pass so close to parked vehicles? You're gonna get wiped out.

  • @Fratern8 It's called a bike lane. But you're right, driving in the middle of traffic would be much safer.

  • ...there's no way I'm going to catch up on all your vids.. anyways.. here's some of my comments... First of all.. I kept thinking someone was going to get run over.. cuz you're on the wrong side of the road (to me.. ) and secondly.. the cop was complaining to a biker for getting out of the bike lane? Yeesh... must be a quiet city.

  • @beckasha83 It is a quiet city

  • @AngryAussie That's a good thing trust me...

  • Hey i didn't hear much heavy breathing. lol I need to fix my bike but it won't have any working brakes which is fine by me but i ride my bike as crazy as hell. I don't wear helmets but the clothes i wear when i ride my bike is enough to cause a car accident....well maybe not that but the guys would like it. lol It would've been really fucked up if the person in that taxi opened the door, u was speeding and couldn't stop, and u just flew over the bike and landed on the ground.

  • @keshalashay I do OK

  • The cycle lane you're in isn't the safest type.

It puts you rght in 'the door zone'

If you're cycling there and you can see into the parked vehicle (eg: tinted windows), or the big headrest 'might' have a smaller person sat in the seat, give it a wide berth.

We have cycle paths like this in the UK, and I tent to ride in the outer edge of the cycle lane.

  • @Cliffjumper24 It's all that was available

  • Are you a missing member of the village people?

  • ha you should have just kicked that door shut on them

  • @theleggett171 Not really possible

  • @AngryAussie i mean if it was possible

  • Looks like a really nice ride.

  • @ebb1501 It is pretty good

  • @AngryAussie is it true that 80% of Australians live on the coast?

  • @ebb1501 Pretty much

  • @ebb1501 LOL, at 3:20. By the way, you have a small following here in Washington state, just north of Seattle. My co worker laughs and laughs when you start dropping "F" bombs.

  • I HATE CAR DRIVERS

  • @JoeJoeToth I know that feeling

  • Melbourne looks nice, I can't believe I haven't checked it out yet.

Here in Adelaide we have a bike lane but cars park in it because they can't be fucked parking on the nearest side street and walking an extra 15 metres to their destination. The sad thing is that it is legal to park in it and the police do it too... We truly are 20 years behind.

  • @83uoykcuf Bike riding can be dangerous

  • I ride a motorbike and I watched this to better understand the road from a cyclists point of view. Now i have a better idea, but seriously this is nothing compared to riding a motorbike... Imagine those dickheads x (a fair number), 20 billion? But perth is fucked in the head, shittest drivers e.v.e.r. I really think some people got their license in a weetbix box.

  • @MrDrBulla I know life is hard for motorcyclists

  • @AngryAussie love the username btw haha :D You should do another trip but next time someone gets in your way or does something stupid, just go bazerk at them haha. Jump off, throw your bike to the ground and go nuts!

  • @MrDrBulla Your not wrong i drive a heavy rigid truck all over perth and i see some stupid mind blowing shit. But what annoys the fuck out of me the most are cyclists, motor bikes. There are some decent cyclists and bike riders out there but i fucking hate it when a cyclist takes up a third of a lane and wont move his arse to the curb so i can drive past.

And when a motorbike takes the gap i leave for the car in front thinking my fully loaded truck can stop on the drop of a hat

  • I hate people that open doors on you

  • @KrunchyJD So do I

  • lol whats wrong with heavy breathing. its natural. its like people feeling incredibly uncomfortable when someone farts. anyways do you need a lighter bike because it looks like you are going VERY slow.

  • @13tarmac That's probably much more a reflection of how unfit I am

  • Mate, when I (a Pom) lived in France I spent a lot of time with Aussies and a Kiwis; your rant about the guy stood in the bike lane cracked me up and reminded me of that happy time. I'm sure you can imagine how much abuse flew with an Aussie, a Kiwi and a Pom sat around a few jugs of beer, but the calm way these three nations can litter a sentence with profanities is one of our great things in common. Haha.

  • @thirteenfingers I can imagine the language flying

  • @AngryAussie Not just language either. Accusations of whinging, convict parentage, velcro glove use, sucking at just about every sport imaginable, having webbed feet from all the rain and (shock horror) not being able to hold one's beer. Generally keeping up international relationships in one of the best ways possible. With beer, bad language and a really good burger at the end. :D

  • great vid man, I just made a bike ride vid but had to do it hand held, really gotta get me one of those gorilla pods. it's nice you guys at least have designated lanes, even tho that still doesn't seem to stop the idiots haha.

  • @criticnic Nothing stops the idiots

  • And you nearly got nailed by a door, nasty. I think you have being very nice about that

  • @andrew097 Didn't have much time to do anything else

  • Why is it the English speaking countries have such a bad relationship with cycling. I live in Ireland and we have all the problems that you see in this bike ride.

  • I don't know but it really sucks

  • @andrew097 Could be something to do with pace of life.

Most English speaking countries (particularly in urban areas) are incapable of doing things below full speed.

I think there's a proportional relationship between consideration for cyclists and time taken for lunch breaks or the number of occupied tables outside the typical café. ;o)

Where in Ireland? I've ridden around Gorey (WX) and never had any bother. Things are more laid back there than in the cities though.

  • @thirteenfingers Think your right about culture In Irl you will see the big city rush and Gorey. where they have a little more time. But the truth is they do have more time. because there not in cars all day. I cycle in Dublin always have I have a car too. I call my Bike a time machine because for 80% of my journeys its quicker.

  • @andrew097 I'm a driver/cyclist too and even though the traffic isn't so bad around here (I live in north Manchester) I still tend to take the bike. Outside rush hour it's about the same speed either way, minutes in it for most journeys, but when things get busy... well, "Time Machine" is a good name!

You're dead right about not spending all day in cars in Gorey too. Lots and lots of walking, up and down the town and even in and out for a night in a pub.

    I need to move there!

  • We get bike lanes so wrong in this country, yes, I am from Australia as well, NSW actually.

Look up copenhagen city of cyclists on youtube, they do it properly.

If we happen to have bike lanes they are between parked cars and moving cars.

  • I started doing that, but my camera fell off and broke, what camera do you use?

  • @KrunchyJD I attached my camera with a gorilla pod

  • @AngryAussie, what camera do you use, is it a purpose built helmet camera, such as the Contour HD or is it just an ordinary camera?

I had a contour HD helmet camera, but the attatchment broke and the camera slammed into the ground and no longer works. I am looking to get a camera to record my bike rides. The vision from yours looks good, thats why I was wondering what type of camera it is.

  • Sanyo Xacti

  • @AngryAussie I now have a gopro hd, it can attatch to your helmet, or frame.

  • Hey mr. angry man. i have been a fan of yours for a long time. i have just got the confidence to write to you. i love what you write and get really turned on, i hope you arnt gay. I would love to catch up with u and give u hard sex,. I am a sex addict and love what u are doing. I would love to please u in every way. what ever u want i know i am fabulous and could get u off. firstly let u watch me to turn u on then wrap my mouth around u then u can wrap your body around mine and have it

  • I can't see my girlfriend agreeing to that.

  • try put the tcaptions on, omg its so funny

  • It never works for me

  • weird

  • You have ALL that bike lane...what is there to angry about?

Please come to NYC and see how we do it.

  • Send me a ticket

  • lol.... try in london dude!!! 8-)

  • I'd love the chance

  • I never thought I would ever watch a dude ride a bike to work. But it was pretty entertaining. And i'll look for more to come.

  • It's a bit dodgy to do it with a camera

  • "WANKER!" Love it!

  • He was a total wanker

  • hey dude totally agree that taxi driver douche bag I am from Melbourne as well like your ride down St Kilda rd

    cheers

  • Cheers mate

  • Why are people being so mean in the comments section of this video? I don't understand it.

  • The world is full of morons

  • You don't have the balls you gutless little cunt. You'll never come out from behind your keyboard and everyone knows it you worthless fucking coward!

  • HAHHAHAHAHAHHA I knew that would make you make an utter cunt of yourself! Now everyone knows you're the biggest loser on the face of the fucking planet. Only the WORST sort of snivelling coward makes threats over the internet. Everybody knows weak little cunts like you act like big men behind a keyboard and are the most pathetic, gutless little children in real life. You will die hated and alone. Hopefully soon.

  • LMFAO at the guy in the lane, rofl

  • Fuck that guy

  • My ride to work varys each time I ride because thats nature of my job. Getting the opportunity for varying terrain and routes always makes it interesting. Luckily for me though I don't get the traffic snarls like you do. It's good living in Melbourne.

  • I like it

  • "Who Dares Wins"

Nice use of the S.A.S saying on the Badge

  • That's the motto of urban bike riders

  • Ha ha. All taxi drivers where I live are pretty ignorant too.

  • There's a lot of it about

  • You're not very angry at all!

  • Variety is the spice of life.

  • man that ride to work is alot better than mine!! my ride to work is all uphill!! i feel sooo tired by the time i get there i jus wanna come home again lol

  • This is pretty flat

  • If I knew about a bike path in England, I would have gone there. Its too bad that I was only 9 years old.

  • Too bad

  • In England theres a bike parth 4 them to use but they don't use it and it realy piss me off

  • Riders should stay on the bike path as much as possible.

  • lol, in America most people don't ride their bikes, everyone has cars... but then again, I live in a state where it rains 300 days throughout the year, so:-/ Adelaide people seem more outdoorsy to me.

  • We need more rain

  • I love the weird looks you were getting from people. :P

  • Shooting videos in public does that

  • I know its common sence but may i ask why so slow or is it just that your next to the road?

  • I don't understand the question

  • Never mind ^-^

  • i know where you live now lol. dont wory i wont tell. i used to go to school volleyball all the time dong the st kilda road lol.

  • That's only the end part of my ride :)

  • Idiot drivers, who knew...

    LOL

  • They are everywhere!

  • True. some cunt nearly made me crash the other day.

  • i wish that we had some bike paths on the streets, i see people riding on the highways and weaving between traffic and what not.

  • We do OK with bike paths

  • your bike doesn't sound to healthy, you should get it checked

  • It's a cheap piece of crap

  • Good point.

  • longest road ever!

melbourne looks like a nice place to live though :)

  • It's a great city

  • lots of graff, i would consider moving there but im fourteen and cant get a job or afford the plane ticket. dam

  • lol its like watching a motorbike vid in slow motion

  • Very slow

  • Woohoo! Spandex! Kinky.

    Don't pick up the lady!!

Bike road rage, fun. ^^ Our bike lanes are also bus lanes which makes for a terrifying biking experience. XD

Sadly, a lot of drivers don't look out for bikes... sooo dangerous!

I feel like shouting encouraging things at you!!

And anyone who would run you over behind a cop would be really stupid indeed. ^^

How many points would you get for hitting a pedestrian with a bike? :P

  • Bike riding is an adventure

  • haha when that taxi driver opened the door haha

  • Fuck that guy!

  • he in that part were you have to ride on the foot path to go over the river and u want to hit some one

i was walking to the fotty and went across there and a guy came off the bridge to come back on the road a car hit him it was kind of funny

  • Probably not for the guy in question

  • yer maby not but he was alright

were u ner flinders street station on the day before good friday

  • i feel sick after that

  • It is a little motion sickness inducing

  • If only you had stuck the camera on the frame and not on the handle bars. Had to stop half way as it gave me motion sickness! great vid but can you redo it!!! Thanks. Nice insight into Aussie traffic though.

  • Or my helmet. It was an experiment.

  • Thanks. Your quality input is appreciated.

  • "The most dangerous places (intersections) they take away our bike lanes."

Most car/bike collisions happen at intersections, and the most dangerous place to position a bicycle in one is on the left edge! In an intersection, you want to be in the travel lane that serves your destination: left or right turn lane if you are turning and the left-most through lane if you are not. cycling in the travel lane positions you to better see and be seen.

  • And live in a world where car drivers aren't fuckwits.

  • I ride on the path/Sidewalk :D

  • That can get you into trouble

  • I don't ride any more. Got hit by a taxi which was 100% his fault. He ran in to me in the bike lane. I got broken bones etc. It's like Russian Roulette you could be killed any time. People just don't see you and there's nothing you can do about it.

  • It is a risk

  • You have the most entertaining ride to work I have ever watched. Totally.

Very amusing looks you were getting from people. They have obviously never seen someone that angry on a bike. Also from what I gathered you had a giant novelty tripod with camera attached to your bike.

People never seem to give a crap about cyclists. There was a news story just recently around here about bikers getting nearly rammed on purpose by drivers. I don't know what goes through their heads. Oh right, nothing.

  • Me talking as I was riding along weirded people out

  • It seems like the camera would explain that.

  • lol that bike lane i go though every day but i skateboard to the skatepark but on the other side and your right people dont move wene ur in the bike lane but people shit them selfs when they hear the skate bord movin hehe nice vid btw

  • A skateboard can make a pretty imposing sound.

  • damn right ehh lol

  • I wouldn't have the guts to drive a bike on a street filled with cars with all the stupid drivers on the road (me being one of them)

Oh and about the bastards who stand on the road - I hate the taxi drivers at Caulfield station because they stand on the road and there is this divider island between the lanes and they leave 1.5 meters for you to drive there. Why not stand on the fucking pavement you fucking morons?! One day I will speed up to a 100 there and kill me some stupid for dinner.

  • There are no end of morons.

  • How long is your ride 2 work???...lol

  • It's only about 7km

  • It's not that easy to find stuff like this. Most people seem to shoot stuff indoors and - if they ARE outdoors - they don't say where they are.

    Nice vid.

  • I like to take advantage of the good weather in summer.

  • weard question, can you get a DUI for drinking to mutch riding a bike in australia? you can in america!

  • I believe you can.

  • The bit with the cabbie opening the door on you reminded me of a similar thing happening to my old man, except he went over the door, broke his neck, and spent 8 weeks lying on his back in traction.

He eventually made a full recovery, but suffice to say that I when get out of the car now I always double check for cyclists.

  • More people should!

  • Fantastic video.

  • Thanks.

  • I just can't watch this, it's like that tipping point when fun drunk becomes wobblyheaded and tummy drunk...

  • It's a drunk ride simulator!

  • I have never seen so many bicycle commuters before!

My city has a few sporadic bike lanes, but they are extremely narrow and tend to end in the middle of a road so you have to merge with traffic.

  • There are a LOT of bike commuters in Melbourne.

  • ohhh my fucking god, Melbourne is sooo fucking nice!!!!!!!!

  • It is a pretty nice city.

  • even more than nice:P

  • another reason to be jealous of you. You can go to work by bike?

  • i'm so in for the gorillapod competition. What do I have to do, just name it :)

  • Details coming soon!

  • I'm a dirty Bastard!!! woot woot!

  • Good for you.

  • Wow it's a pretty flat ride. Can't get that in Brisbane - unless you follow the river.

  • Sorry for the multi-posting - it was a long video. :D

  • You should have double-dinked that lady at the start. ;)

  • That tripod thing still looks like some sorta sex toy. ;)

  • You could get creative ;)

  • You should of run that fucker over AA What a cunt.

  • It crossed my mind.
