how could anyone dislike these highlights? seriously. 15 dislikes? must be from kobe and lebron fans who dont know better. but that's ok. ignorance is acceptable nowadays.
1:09 - Difference between Kobe and Jordan. Kobe needs to spin, twist, turn and possibly pass the ball in this situation. OK,...not pass the ball but throw up a wild shot in this situation. Jordan however just jumps right over his opponent. In this case, a PF, HOF Guard, and a third guy who I can't really make out.
if the nba did a mass poll (fans, players past/present,coaches,media) on "which player was the most beautiful/finesse player in the history of the game?" i would bet my girl's car that it would be mike. true poetry what dude came up with pretty much on the fly against pretty good defense in his days. and here's the thing, nobody will come close to accomplishing the feats (allstars,1st teams,DPOY,mvps, rings, records, endorsements) he did in the amount of time he did (14 years with 3 retirements)
Watching this will make you want to jump from the free throw line, dunk on Patrick Ewing, then hit a game winner in Byron Russel’s eye…all of which are not possible.
he has too many moves, too many angles, too much body control, too much athleticism, too much strength, too much desire, too much confidence, his court vision is too good, he knows his game to a tee, he knows his limitations if he has any, he knows what his defender can do, he is simply put the best basketball player to ever play and likely who ever will play. If someone comes along who is better than his airness then I miss my guess. Men like him come along once in who knows how long.
If MJ started in the NBA at the age of 17 or 18, didn't get that foot injury and played the whole season in 1985, didn't retire in 1993, didn't retire in 1998 and if the Pistons didn't make that so-called "Jordan Rules". Just imagine how his career stats and championships would be.
We're talking about 45,000 or possibly 50,000 career points, 10-15 championships.
What separates MJ from all the other greats besides the sheer numbers of his stats was that he never layed an egg in a big moment. Game winning shot vs Georgetown as a freshman to win the NCAA title. Was the leader on both USA Gold Medal Olympic teams he played for. In the 6 NBA Chamionships he played in his team won all 6 and he was the Finals MVP in all 6. And if he wouldn't of played baseball right in the middle of his prime he woulda had 8 NBA Titles with 8 Finals MVPs.
In MJ days, I was working at night and raising a family and one night took time off to take my step-son from another country to see the legend. A night we will never forget. The vids from Hoops enable me to re-live the time of MJ. Thanks Hoops23
damn...like seriously...i feel depressed thinkin i dont get to see that anymore lol....i mean who can even pretend that anyone else but MJ could do shit like that.....NOBODY....and this doesnt even begin to touch how great he was.....simply the greatest of ALL time
Thank God you're back Hoops. Felt like i got punched in the stomach when you disappeared. This is not only the greatest Jordan video ever, but a work of art. You are single-handedly educating young hoop fans everywhere about the GOAT. I don't even have to argue about Kobe anymore, I just say check out hoopsencyclopedia23 on youtube and get back to me. Usually they come back like "ooooooh, now i see!" LOL. Thanks for everything and keep them coming.

2:30 - 45 year old Jordan doing work over one of the greatest Celtics to ever play Paul Pierce.

@vexed334 I'm an MJ fan, but let's not make the legend out to be greater than it is. He was 40 at best in that clip with Paul Pierce.

@willcloyd We said. He had an answer for anything a defense threw at him. The only thing that stopped MJ was retirement.

The dunk at 1:29 is flat out nasty. That centre ducks for cover as MJ powers it down, I dont think anyone would have blocked that.

Basketball is a beautiful thing. To all you average everyday ballers out there just playing for the love of the game, more power to you.
