The agencies' reluctance to release the tapes -- along with e-mails, erroneous public statements and other evidence -- led some of the panel's Staff Members and Commissioners to believe that authorities sought to mislead the Commission and the public about what happened on September 11th.
Former FBI Director Louis J.Freeh slammed the 9.11 Commission saying it ignored or "summarily rejected" the most critical piece of intelligence that could have prevented the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001.
Writing in the Wall Street Journal's opinion page Thursday, November 17th, 2005, Freeh gave a blistering review of the Commission and says new revelations indicate it is "a good time for the country to make some assessments of the 9.11 Commission itself."
The former FBI Director, who resigned his position just months before 9.11, points out that the US government had learned of the identity of Mohammed Atta the year prior to the attacks. Atta alledgedly piloted an American Airlines plane that slammed into the WTC North Tower.
Louis J.Freeh recounts that military intelligence operation code-named "Able Danger" concluded in February 2000 that military experts had identified Atta as an al-Qaeda agent operating in the USA.
"Subsequently, military officers assigned to Able Danger were prevented from sharing this critical information with FBI agents - Why?" he ponders, suggesting the failure to share such intelligence may be a smoking gun pointing at federal malfeasance in the case.
Freeh maintains that the Able Danger intelligence is undoubtedly the most relevant fact of the entire post-9.11 inquiry... Yet the 9.11 Commission inexplicably concluded that it "was not historically significant."
"No wonder the 9.11 families were outraged by these revelations and called for a 'new' commission to investigate."
"The Joint Intelligence Committees should reconvene and, in addition to Able Danger team members, we should have the 9.11 Commissioners appear as witnesses so the families can hear their explanation why this doesn't matter."

Well considering that NORAD is a cold war era defense system aimed at detecting external threats. I don't find it suprising that when given 9 minutes to respond to a hi-jacked air craft that they were unable to intercept it.
Have you read through the time line of the events that day? I mean 1st the civlians have to figure out the aircraft is highjacked, then pass it on to the FAA and then to military.
Then the military has to scramble fighters.

The CIA was running drugs about 3 miles down the road at the local airport and the Davidians new about it. They could have picked up Koresh any day of the week in Waco. But, they wanted a show. Mohammed Atta and Marwan Alshehhi both recieved training at the Huffman Aviation flight training school in Venice Flordia.
They earned teir instrument certificates from the FAA in november of 2000 & in mid december passed teur commercial pilots tests and recieved their licences.
Ziad Jarrah also attended the same school around the same time and is clearly remembered by class mates as friendly & trustworthy.

Although it was not hit by an airplane, it completely collapsed into a pile of rubble in 6.6 seconds at 5:20pm on 9.11, 7 hours after the collapses of WTC1 and WTC2.

A common criticism of those who question 9.11 is that they are being "disrespectful to the victims and their families".
However, half of the victim's families believe that 9.11 was an inside job (according to the head of the largest 9.11 family group, Bill Doyle). Many family and friends of victims not only support the search for 9.11 truth, but they demand it!

John Loftus runs the Intelligence Summit, which is all about stopping terrorism, specifically jihad. Huh. Sounds like he really thinks this is a conspiracy.
Then there's Mary Schiavo, who "contends FAA officials refused to believe the US faced a threat of domestic terrorism prior to 9/11." So apparently she doesn't feel too much like they knew beforehand.

Why don't you check what these people said instead of pointing out what they do for a living and saying "Sounds like he really thinks this is a conspiracy"
John Loftus stated in an article in UK's The Guardian newspaper on 9/6/03:
"The information provided by European Intelligence Services prior to 9.11 was so extensive that it is no longer possible for either the CIA or FBI to assert a defence of incompetence."
