  • the russian specialist is wonderful magic and innimaginable manouevrability is ever buit thanx russian scientist

  • honestly r u s s i a n s engineering incredible.,magnificent.,volcanic.,victorious.,visionary.,imperial.,peace of genius worldwide science...mig-29/ovt/ is gentle wonderful genius most impulse plain in the world....+all of his generous manage/., managing body.,manifesting.,majestic.,SMOOTHLY FEATURES SHOWS AS ALL GOODNESS OF TOPS MASTER MODERN SCIENCE... INDEED LUSTROUSLY MIG-29/MO/O.V.T./ IS THE MOST MANOEUVRE/EFFECTIVE 5+ GENERATION .,BY SKILLS!!!!///WAR FIGHTER IN UNIVERSE

  • Yeaow, that´s a plane that´s the pilot, that´s why russian always won.

  • sweet jezus

  • This is just for airshows.

It's completely useless in modern combat.

  • @scotty123123 Good for slowing down?

  • @scotty123123 Wrong. Cobra, or Aerodynamic Deceleration ( which is its technical name ) is actually studied and used by russian pilots in situation where an enemy might be so close that a Cobra will cause the enemy plane to overshoot. Its part of the Russian close combat doctrine and it can and will be used in combat, get over it.

  • @scotty123123 not at all ,imagine a su -27 or a mig-29 being attacked by a raptor ,he can just make the cobra and get behind him in no time ,but i requires much skill to do it

  • @scotty123123 except maybe when you have a bogey on your tail, and every other maneuver you have tried to shake him with has failed right?

  • @scotty123123 Not really, something like this would seriously mess with BVR locking missiles etc, as demonstrated by a joint exercise involving F - 15Cs and Su - 30s between the USAF and the IAF....

  • Than in the dog fight F22 is better than the MiG-29?

  • Mamma mia!

  • wicked !

  • wow this cobra maneuver presented at the end is amazing :) I agree that this is one of the best fighters ever created.

  • The best fighter is made.

  • Russians are better than Americans, u have to admit.

  • Of course, and you made this opinion just by the way one guy flies his video? I don't believe in anyone being 'better' or 'worse' than another human being. But try explaining that to the whole family of friends I have who have risked everything just to get away from Moscow... Maybe the people are wonderful, but the country has one hell of a long way to go to catch up to modern times.

  • i agree with what this dude says except where he begins to go political on us =D.

back to planes the US created one of the most beautiful aircraft ever made in my opinion (F-14) however the russians are WAY more consistent everyone one of their aircraft is a beaut. mig29, su27(and its carious variants) and the outstandingly beautifull Su-47. but thats just me

  • @jlebesis So does the USA... both backwards as countries.

  • @pubuman Yes I agree, the USA and the western world in general need to get back in touch with what life is actually about..Here it's all go go go go go , and all about career..and still there are too few questioning life itself or their spirituality. Sorry to rant on, just saying I agree with you in certain ways :) Peace

  • @jlebesis That's a very fair comment... :-)

  • @pubuman Intelligent and thought out opinions are always welcomed by me, even if I'm wrong :) Good to hear an educated opinion!

  • What kind of retarded statement is that?

Better in what way? I feel dumber just for having to address your idiotic statement.

  • nice!!

  • outstanding!!

  • "It's an impressive maneuver, but does it have tactical value?"

Not really, it bleeds all energy and leaves the jet a sitting duck as Su-30 pilots from India discovered in thier over enthusiasm to do airshow stunts.

Real pilots don't put their jets into manueveres that kill all energy and leave you sitting still like a fool.

  • sorry, but these maneuvers can save you during a dogfight, dude, think about it...

  • No, that's is where you are dead wrong, ask any proffesional fighter pilot (I have BTW) and they will tell you pulling airshow stunts is the fastest way to die, it's all about energy and manuevers like the cobra bleed energy and leave the fighter a sitting duck. They look great at airshows though, also the HOBS missile/HMS combo means the more agile aircraft is not really at any advantage. Manuevering is now second place to stealth and HMS?HOBS missiles combo.

  • Should read "Manuevering is now second place to stealth and HMS / HOBS missiles combo. "

    Its been a long day...

  • ...or...if you mess up, you are left with no airspeed at all, and a very heavy fighter jet to accelerate back to combat manouvre speed...In other words, a sitting duck. The plane will only be as good as it's pilot allows it to be. Having said that, this is one hell of an airplane

  • @weaponofsex

Well at least one should think so. On the other hand: Two of the things you should never lose during a dog fight is 1. Speed and 2. altitude. It'll be hard to get speed back in time to get after the plane that just rushed past you and has some hundred mph speed andvantage after your mid air stunt during combat show.

  • At carrying out of this maneuver the majority of rockets lose track of the plane.

  • "APART FROM f-22 no other US fighter is capable of beating a mig 29."

Complete and utter nonsense as can be seen by the dismal combat record of the Mig-29. In terms of number of kills the Mig-29 has achieved it is a complete failure to be straight about it, sure you may like it and its pretty airshow manueveres but that doesn't count for squat in the real world.

  • " I've heard lots of reports that a large number of Mig-29's are barely airworthy let alone combat worthy because of corrosion and fractures in the structure."

Yeah Russia has had to ground a large portion of its Mig-29 fleet.

  • Hopefully nothing flies off when doing this maneuver. I've heard lots of reports that a large number of Mig-29's are barely airworthy let alone combat worthy because of corrosion and fractures in the structure.

  • It's an impressive maneuver, but does it have tactical value? I realize slow speed capabilities are important, but is this particular maneuver useful? Just askin...I really don't know the answer.

  • in a dog fight it probably would work. if you could pop the nose up fast enough. but there a chance if the pilots skilled enough he would just rip the plane apart with cannons. or dumb enough he would try and follow crashing into you. but if done right i strongly believe it would be.

  • This maneuver was performed at lo speed likely due to it being a presentation. The actual move is pretty useful given that the fighter drops in speed quickly with little warning and only gains slight altitude. When an adversary is in close trying for guns, the maneuver would cause the chasing fighter to overshoot and render the target the one with the advantage

  • yea i kno, but in red flag engagements, IAF pilots in Su-30 MKI's did similar maneuver's against veteran pilots in the USAF in F-15s which aren't as agile, and they still managed to counter the maneuver and report a kill on the su-30s because the plane wouldn't maintain altitude it fell out the sky giving the F-15 time to reposition for the kill. i believe pilot skill is more valuable in determining the maneuvers value in a fight.

  • you compare IAF pilots with USAF pilots? Man, we are talking about perfect executed cobra's wich give you the posibility to get behind your enemy! that is all you need!

  • You could easyly and fastly switch from a defensive position to an attack postion (switch places in a dogfight)...switch from hunted to hunter if you know what i mean =)

  • APART FROM f-22 no other US fighter is capable of beating a mig 29......... f 14 f-16 f-15 and f-18 are pussy in front of a fulcrum....... or even sukhoi for that matter.....

  • F-22 is just "waste". Bcuz it has fewer range and fewer visual range fighting capability.

  • X-F=X-T

  • The only american fighter capable of that is the raptor.Thats because the american aircraft are buildt for long or medium range attacks, not for a real dogfight against a highly maneuverable fighter like the su-27.The russian aircraft are buildt for dogfights against aircraft like the f-16.Theire constructed for standing extreme g-forces.The intake is buildt for getting air in this maneuvres.A f-16 wouldnt get any air in this maneuvre(or not enough) and the engine would overheat and fail.

  • infact, not even the raptor is capable of doing a cobra, its Thrust Vectoring can only move 30 degrees up or down

  • It doesnt depend on the degrees that the nozzles can move up and down. The su-27 flanker can do this maneuvre too, infact it was even the first plane that ever flew this maneuvre, and it has no thrust vectoring nozzles. The mig 29(i mean the standard one without thrust vectoring) is capable of that too.

  • my origional point was that the raptor cannot do the cobra air maneuver

  • Yes, and also one American pilot commented on this, and said that American airplanes can do these things too, but it's question about pilots capebility.

  • I was under the impression the F-16 can't do it because of AoA limiters in the FBW system. NASA's F-16 with thrust vectoring was able to acheive it though.

  • almost all russian fighter are multi range attacks! u need to read about!

  • Of course they are,but they suck at it compared to their american counterparts.

  • I tried to do that whit my BMX... 2 bones broken!!! :-) thanks for this vid!!!

  • LOOOL

  • Yea the F-22 can and has been able to for a decade. Duh!

  • Oooooh! I'm impressed... not!

  • not if you try it at 20.000ft and ejection seat ready :)

  • @fresshness2001

It's no possible for FBW system limits.

  • @fresshness2001

duh the f-22 can easily do this dumbass!

  • @USAFF22guy That's just because it has Thrust Vector Control.

and I'm glad to see people can still 'debate' without resorting to insults!

  • @fresshness2001

    the mig-29 does too dipshit!

  • @USAFF22guy dont forget my friend that the F22 has thrust vector only on 2 axis the mig's and sukhoi's have a 3D thrust vector . The main reason for the thrust vector control on the F22's is to have a level flight without using anything else(i.e. trim or a small angle on flaps) to reduce drag force and achieve high cruising speeds only by applying a small angle on the nozzles. all that by a sophisticated fly-by-wire system

  • @christos200 yeah ik, i understand that, but the f22 can easily complete this maneuver and fresshness2001 doesnt think it can

  • @USAFF22guy i agree with you my friend. i saw a couple of videos with some good f22 maneuvers

  • Comment removed

  • @USAFF22guy lol. You are compering a Mig-29 that was released in 1970 with F-22 that entered USAF service in 2005??? Well, your comments are confirmation that new russian fighting jets are SPACESHIPS compering with F-22!

  • @fresshness2001 sure things F35 F22, they can cobra for 8-9-10 secs

  • @reindenaab fair enough. however.

Mig-29 is AT LEAST a decade older than the 2 you mention there.

  • @reindenaab

Please show us one video or picture where F35 does cobra? Please?

    h tt p ://w w w.yo utub e. co m/watch?v =RJO0KzTgcMI

If you are implying that this is cobra, you completely missed the point. Cobra was useful to break radar lock of older western doppler radars with sudden drop in velocity. Whatever was executed by Raptor, bared no quick loss in air speed and was geared towards uneducated spectator. Any knowledgeable person will laugh in your face if you'll try to sell it as cobra

  • @fresshness2001 Nah, any plane with thrust vectoring can pull this off. F22 can so can the F35. Whether or not they ever will is another matter.

  • @ivnuzi again, those 2 planes you mention are far newer... it would be seriously shaming if the F35 couldn't do what a plane 20 years ago could do.

  • @ivnuzi F-35 can´t, no thrust vectoring. And no, TVC doesn´t ensure you can pull all the maneuvers you see here, some planes have structural limits that won´t allow them to do this, other will have their engines flaming out, etc...

  • @ivnuzi

well because neither of those planes has ever officially done it we will leave it at the cant do :)

and are there F35 that are even in production?

  • @fresshness2001 And thats because US does not have any as good pilots as the rest of the world, they need the systems.

    Statistically proven.

  • Amazing machine this Mig 29 and thank you for putting the vid up

  • murat şeker horev 9a and kenan :D

  • Amazing!!!
