  • Does the green coloration indicate that they are somewhat arboreal? The B. Parviocula must be the most beautiful species in Africa, maybe the world!

  • This is such a beautifull animal, as much as I love snakes I think the Bitis varieties are my absolute favorite.

  • why dont you give them live rats and mice?

  • She's beautiful! I've been looking for a while, but other than one random one being rehomed in the UK, I haven't been able to find any. : (

  • shes beautiful! do you ever hold her? considering shes venomous and all..

  • that is a beautiful snake

  • I got hungry lol

  • Gorgeous

  • whats your best venomous snake

  • OOO! She is amazing!

  • I don't know if you know this but most vipers have to be force fed when you first get them! That's why when you were holding the the rat on the rod like a foot away from him he wasn't even going to take it,but when you put it up close to his face he was prospecting it and decided he was going to take it.

  • @demonicBerith No. not true...I seldom have to forcefeed them.

  • @viperkeeper Al,

I just googled this snake, and am amazed at how rare wikipedia says they are, 1995 there were only 3 known species, and now you have one for me to see. THANK YOU. In your opinion, is this as rare or perhaps more so than the mangshang? Both are amazingly beautiful, you are awesome for bringing these to us fans, I personally appreciate all the commentary, I am learning so much from you these last couple weeks. These vids are a real treat.

  • that is freakin me out...

  • Ist wirklich gut, bis auf die kleine rumspinnerei, aber ich würde sie trotzdem nicht im Terrarium füttern.

  • This is the most beautiful venomous snake I ever seen.

  • oh,yes she is really a beauty!!!

  • a bit long... but good vid. ;)~

  • Great stuff!

  • What's the common name?

  • Ethiopian Mountain Adder

  • "look at me I'm tasty" hahahah, that's great.

  • wow she ate it without even striking, she must be Very used to eating prekilled

  • I AGREE THAT IS VERY KOOL Xd

  • wonderful snake but do you have any Lachesis Mutas. Bushmasters are awesome animals.

  • No, I don't keep them. Not a big Pit Viper guy.

  • this bitis is one of the most beautiful snakes in the world. congratulations!!!!!!

  • She was an amazing animal. I had to check it out after seeing the skeletal remains in your most recent video.

  • This is one gorgeous snake!

  • LOL @ supposed 4 yr old viper handler! I wouldn't let a 4 yr old handle a small puppy that bites, much less a snake that bites.

  • hey wat kind of snake is dat

  • i have been watching all your shows on youtube nd there great it would be nice if i ever got to see you i want to go to college at PA so i can see you

  • oh ok i dont now if i told you thise but i am a fan of yours

  • Thanks, I would have never been able to figure that out ;-)

  • i am sorry if i mad you made but. you see that when i get my permit i want to get one.and breed them so they dont become extinct

  • You would absolutely know without question if I were mad. I just stated my basic operating principles.

  • were do you get your bitises i realy want one

  • 1) I have no clue who you are.

    2) whether you have the experience or skills to keep venomous.

    3) you live is an area that permits keeping them.

  • hey Al, I recently saw a program on Tv called "reptile kings" they were searching for a viper they believed to be a new species, and they dubbed it the Tioman pit viper. i was wondering if you know anything about this species as i cant find much info at all on it, new species? no/yes?

  • Yes, I saw it too...I would need it's scientific name.

  • so it is a new species?

  • It's possible...

  • ok cool, thanks for the quick reply

  • hi al, did you breed this gal your self or is she an import?

    cool looking snake though

  • The female arrived gravid.

  • what dose gravid mean

  • Pregnant

  • i see now. hope all the babys areall good, thanks for the reply an keep up all your great work,

    realy find your vids helpfull

  • love the Ethiopian mountian adders, among my favorites, btw love ur humor

  • where do get those beautiful snakes

  • is it possible to get your e-mail adress

  • hi how is it possible to get those animals is it possible to buy ?????

  • My second favorite snake. It's so beautiful.

  • Did you custom-make your tanks or did you buy them. If so, from who? Thanks, really enjoying all the vids. Amazing creatures.

  • I use Vision cages you can Google it.

  • How often do you clean/disinfect your cages? It would just seem like doing it very often would just keep you running all day.

  • I spot clean as needed and change the substrate every 4 months.

  • I am simply breathless every time I see this species (which I know is only because of your efforts Al!) I think this is the most beautiful of the venomous I have seen yet (besides the lost Little Red :( - I'm so sorry Al. I wish I could do more for you.)

  • you're definitely among my top five favorite posters.

  • What is the length expectancy on the mountain adder?

  • about 1 meter

  • Hey Viper, just to say i love your video's!, i don't own any venomous species, only large constrictors, currently a Tiger retic, it must be amazing owning a species that is shrouded in such mystery..nothing known regarding its habits or venom. keep it up!

  • that is a pretty snake

  • Absolutely beautiful parviocula AL!! thank you for sharing.

  • cool vid, not only will i subscribe but i will even put it as a favorite!lol

  • Absolutely stunning animal, wish I could keep exotics in Australia, just as I'm sure you'd like some of our elapids (as they are the most venomous in the world) in your collection. Love your vids informative and entertaining.

  • he already has some of "your" elapids dumb ass

  • those are soo beutiful!

  • Oh...

What is your next video going to be on?

  • That's something you will have to wait and see... sometimes it changes at the last minute, sometimes not...

  • Hey what is your "catalog" is it on your channel or website?

  • It's my 164 videos on this channel.

  • there are six large bitis right? bitis nasicornis, bitis gabonica, bitis rhinocerus, bitis arietans, bitis parviocula and bitis atropos if im not mistaken have you seen any bitis atropos in captivity al? thanks in advance.

  • Well...I would consider B.atropos in the dwarf Bitis group. See my Berg's Adder Video in my back catalog.

  • ~Page 14 of my catalog, August 2006

  • Hey viperkeeper! Could you make more videos of mambas and taipans?

  • Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a snake take food so gently. I have a Garter snake that goes ballistic when I offer him fuzzies.

  • She is a rare and wonderful animal. I particularly enjoyed the dead rat marionette. Her scales remind me of atheris, but her pattern is pure bitis. Do montain species require full spectrum basking or just a radient panel?

  • I have a full spectrum for them as they need more light than heat.

  • WOW, she is a very beutiful girl :)

  • this is the first time ive ever seen a snake in one of your videos eat without striking first. keep up the good work and informative videos.

  • I have others that take food gently off the forceps

  • Oh yeah I keep forgeting to ask this: do you have any scary shorts in the vault?

  • I have one ready to upload but the one that is on YouTube is the first.

  • okay sweet.

  • wow thats a beautiful snake

  • Wow. Snakes "scare" me. I'm amazed you can do this and not have to change your pants and clean the floor every time you deal with these incredible creatures.

  • Wow...what the video "Scary Short" if you think I needed to chang my pants in this video.

  • Very beautiful snake, and nice vid! Thanks Al

  • She's gorgeous.

Interesting about her temp requirements, do you keep any species that hibernate like my native adder (dull compared to your new girl but still quite fetching I think) and if so do you let them?

  • I'm keeping them between 20 & 23 degrees with a basking spot slightly higher.

  • Okay because I thought that you were going to send Mr. Sniffles somewhere.

Yeah, yeah I must be crazy!!!!!

  • Stunning Snakes, good luck with thier reproduction in the future, may i ask where you get ur cage plants from?, Rgds, Edward

  • herpsupplies dot com

  • Are those guys part of your permanent collect?

  • Yes,anything Bitis is automatically part of my perment collection

  • By the way, my offer to sponser one of your snake purchases still stands. $1000 towards the upkeep of one of your special friends.

  • Hey Al, did you see they removed all of Jonah's videos?

  • Who is he??

  • He posts these amazing snake videos but unfortunately he has snake vs live chicks and rabbits. They removed over 100 of his videos.

  • I agree with them.....

  • perhaps when dangling dinner, you should say squeak squeak to get the snakes attention

  • Good point

  • more power to you viperkeeper

  • I agree with you four years old and working with venomous snakes is both illegal and unsafe. If I were to have kids I would not allow them to work with them until 15 if they want.

  • you rule Al.

  • Hey Al great video again! Can you talk more about the venom of each snake you have or at least Gaby, Red, and Spike. I mean like what gonna be the effect if they bite.

    thanks again

  • Sure but these guys, their venom is a mystery.

  • I wish she would strike.

  • The Juvies were a bit more spirited in their feeding...

  • yeaahhh realy good vid . Take me home tonight cool !!!!! i love these funny comments !!!

  • hey Al,

ive watched all your vids but this will be the first comment, LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS although i wish i could share videos of my own hot collection, im just another average boa keeper, with the variety of some nice green tree pythons and other arboreals. Wish i had the nerves you do to keep venomous but i think someone would find me dead in my apartment complex lol! I remember the comment you were talking about and dont worry some people are just jealous of your skill and animals!

  • Thanks...

  • What a beautiful creature. Quite striking colours, although she seemed melancholic in some way :)

Nice vid, Al. You're the best

  • I am not in-sensitive about their captivity. Think about what they have been through and their current living conditions, certainly not like they were used to having.

  • wow stunning footage AL

  • awesome video

  • nice one al, good job

  • "Whoah, look at me I`m tasty!'"

    lol

    great vid

  • 1st comment yey and cool vid :)
