  • My freind, age about 19, met him. WSB asked if he was in school. When told "no," he said "You should go back."

  • I was at A Bob Dylan concert when somebody told me William died.

  • sloaches humanoids

  • i remember the day he died vividly.

    the great William S Burroughs

    great nihilism

  • @MUTE8able yes I agree master of NIHILISM!

  • We are the official distributors of Klaus Maeck's works and you can learn more about him in the artists section on the LUX homepage.

We look forward to finding out more about your work and opinions!

  • lol, I love this man. I get the impression that

he knows not of what he knows - his inspiration is

    "out of this world"

    Min 5:50

"If the astronauts should stay in space for 5 years

they'd lose almost all their bones

If you don't use it, you lose it. And, skeletal structure has no use in a weightless

    environment

so, the end result would be something like a jellyfish"

  • i am that i am that i that i am that i that i am i that i that i am i that i am i am that i am

  • Best beat writer ever! Well at least in my opinion i mean ginsberg and kerouac are great but i love this dude

  • you know, despite being friends with those guys, he made it clear he was not a "beat" writer.

    does it matter?

  • none of em were. media pigeonholes were abhoorrant to all the so-called beats

  • nope even if he was not he is still one of the best writers i know

  • His quotation of Reagan's thoughts on the presidency of the United States when governor of California was absolutely earth-shattering: That he didn't want it because the powers who put him there would snuff him out if he got one inch out of line.

  • @slbiggs36 I don't think he was quoting Reagan. He was expressing his own opinion of why he (Burroughs) would never want to be president.

  • @frankbooth1966 he wasn't quoting Reagan he was parodying him bro

  • too bad i was born before he died, then i could have delusions that i was him in my past life.

  • @infested655 According to certain Buddhist traditions, It actually is possible for an awakened being (ie. Buddha) to eminate into multiple other beings as well as reincarnate before another has yet died... me thinks. So it is possible that you could be an "expression" of William Burrows. You are certainly an expression of the same fundamental nature as him anyhow (atoms, buddhanature and such). :)

  • @infested655 Could still be possible. He's a tricky sob.

  • "uh,ok".mm....To me Burroughs is a gentleman with a great mind and spirit.RIP. He could be acomplex guy sometimes hard to read, but lot of topics wich he spoke in the 60 ,s are now world wide issues. He could be also very funny.cheers

  • Ah the last piece about transforming astronauts as jellyfish noskeleton isa funny end :)

  • the guys is like "uh, ok"

  • he has one of the greatest voices i've ever heard. a visionary. thanks for the upload!

  • i'd do that bitch even if he was dead

  • Burroughs,brilliant,caustic,hilarious!

  • If you cut up a spaceman in outter space, would you have alot of little spacemen?

  • Such a great man.

  • I'm getting a head start on the jellyfish part.

  • Uncle Bill.. Thanks for the upload

  • see giorno poetry systems for more wsb lore and ore--"asked me what i thought of the american flag, i said , 'soak it in heroin, doc and i'll suck it'"--also see tapes without the gus glam

  • How about posting the entire Commissioner of Sewers bit it is great!

  • I don't have it!

  • ahh too bad... I have it on disk somewhere here. It is one of his best in my opinion.Maybe you can message me and tell how to post it.

  • or I could send it to you as an MP3?

  • maybe you could tweet it to facespace as a mpZ

  • lol Essentially we'd turn into something like a jellyfish.

What I would give to have gotten the chance to meet that man.

  • I actually did meet him in 1987 in Vancouver during a reading of his I went to. I am so happy that I attended. It wasn't much of a meeting mind you I just said "hello I love your work thank you." I was too nervous he was already an Idol of sorts.

  • The man who meets God is God himself. I envy you for what you have been able to do, it's too bad I am in my early twenties... too early to meet God myself. Maybe second to Krishna, WSB is the only other deity I worship.

  • Anything that's anything to do with Bill Burroughs is going to be good. A very clever man.

  • NO place to go except up and out --WSB

    ! Yeah....

  • loved that. thanks for posting
