Technically you can't. But you can go into the software and play in different keys. I "virtually" detuned it a full octave, so it sounds a lot like a bass.

I wish it were more like the acoustic Variax, though, where you can change tuning independent of any other setting. You make a preset with whatever tuning you want (using the software), attached to a specific guitar model, so you can't flip between a drop G Les Paul with neck pickup, and bridge pickup, without saving each as separate presets.

Still cool though.
