My displacement doesnt move. I was making a still object invisible and animating it across the screen instead of a green screen footage. Any idea why this isn't working? The still image moves, but the displacement is only of the still image -not moving-

cool tutorial. this makes sense if you don't have access to the location you want the scen to take place but otherwise it would a million times easier to just take video of the subject and seperate vid of the location without moving the camera and just using a simple dissolve.

Dude... number one problem with tutorial narration is smacking lips and use of the word ummm. Go though and listen to how many times your mic is picking up the smacking sound of your mouth and how many times you say ummm.

Not a "Green" screen it can be: Blue, Red any full coloured background.

You can do two things: Either animate a subtraction mask frame-by-frame to remove the head, or have the actor wear a green-screen mask and keylight it out.

not moving) and in this way you can make exactly

the same effect without your "yellow screen"

Let me disprove you.

If you want to simply fade out the character, you could do that.

Now, with lots of time and effort, you could displace the character without a "yellow screen" (God forbid my camera's white balance was off).

This was the most effective way. Granted I did take a little while to explain it, but this video still has 47,773 views....

Dude, i know someway to do it easyer, just not with a greenscreen, you just have to film two things, just some place, and some place where you're on, that must be the same place, you'll have 2 layers, the layer where you're on, and the layer of ONLY the background, you must place the layer where you're on above the other layer, and then just turn the opacity of that layer down. :.)
