Maybe, it's a little awkward I think because I need more practice, plus I came up with the guitar after I recorded my drums. That riff was the best I could come up with at the time. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it. Well, momentum is building w/the videos & book every day - stay tuned!
Your example is really cool and sounds great. I would probably write it in 6/4 time. In your hands, you're getting 8:6 (4:3 X 2) with the 16th note subdivision and a displaced half-note pulse of 3:6 w/the backbeat (landing on beats 2, 4 & 6), also creating 8:3:6 in the hands combined.
The feet are essentially playing 2:3 X 4 if you think of the 8th-note pulse ... more
ok cool...when it started out I had no idea how that groove would fit into any sort of music but then it made sense at the end when you put the guitar in. Creative as always!
You've got the right idea. In needs a little tweaking though. Cheers!

Good stuff, Ken! The drumming is awesome (obviously) but I also really like your guitar work! I'm so envious of your wonderful musical ability. :)

Thank you so much, you're too kind.

with the guitar the hihat is unneccesary and throwing off your timing making it awkward. i recommend removing that and adding doubles with the bass.

Thanks, it's a little rough. I had a tough time coming up with any music, nothing seemed to fit.

Just something I wrote today, it still a little choppy.

i think this groove would sound fuller if you played some ghost notes on the snare

Yes, you're right. I find it difficult to add anything when I first learn something like this, it throws me right off.
Thanks for the feedback.
