The serise again made a mistake on this point. (there is a number of errs through out the whole series) The blast was the equivalent of more then 100 million nuclear weapons. They actually down played this part intentionally which I found funny but it also makes the series less credible. The other mistakes made in the serise were UN intentional as information in paleontolgy is always changing. 1 000 000 and 100 000 000 are not even in the same ball park

Sure, even without this meteor the dinosaurs had a hard time with the climate change, but they were still without doubt the rulers of earth. Guys, from what I can tell you. There won't be a second season. As being one of the animators who worked on it, the History Channel did not green light a second season for the 1080 company to produce, mainly because of the ratings that came in. Not enough people watched the show even though we received very good reviews on it. And creating a series like this takes alot of money which I think the HC was banking on. It didn't help competing with the Olypics and an election year either.
