The movie may not apply well in other countries, but I'm sure they all have problems and don't think other cultures experience them too. I believe the movie was written by a Puerto Rican-American so it stands to reason it'll take place in a Peurto Rican community.

According to Amazon, its coming out in October. Why its taking so long, I have no idea. I'd like to watch this movie but right now I can't because its neither in cinemas nor on DVD.

You seem to be very ignorant and elitist. You assume that I took my classes at a community college. I actually took them in a for year. And if I did take them in a community so what? Would that make me less intellegent? Besides learning @ school I have dont my own research and have seen many documentries about P.R. history and culture. And yes darker skinned Ricans are treated differently on the Island. They are treated like less and it is a shame. I am against any kind of discrimination.

lmao oh gosh i really wanna see this movie. usually holiday movies are really cheesy and overdone and a total cliche. but this movie seems different it looks like it brings out the real disfunctional family charm tht we can all relate to. and plus it was shot in chicago and i live ther so its gotta be good lol :)

their are alot of remarks on what your background is. I thought we were supposed to talk about the movie... not who was going to see it! I'm Asian and yes if an Asian movie comes out maybe more Asians would go see it cause it's close to their background but I don't know but it doesn't mean other people can't see it or enjoy the movie like other. I think that this movie seems like it's a good family movie. I wish I had a big family like that.

yeah, i dont mean to hate on latinos, but this movie is gonna flop because its an all LATINO CAST. 2 be a major block buster movie hit, the movie will have 2 draw an audience of all races, BLACK, WHITE, ASIAN, & other races will have 2 go watch it, but those races are not really intriged about watchin an all LATINO CAST. only HISPANICS will go see it. & another reason the movie will flop is because critics already said the movie wasnt good, i seen it on the WEB.

i understand your point, but im just talkin reality, and that is its not gonna be to many WHITE, BLACK, or ASIANS goin to see this movie, there will be some, but not many. it will be 90% LATINOS goin 2 see it. just like when J-LO made that movie called- "EL CANTANTE", it was a flop, & it did terrible numbers at the box office, because only LATINAS were interrested in seeing a movie about a LATIN SINGER, u wont see many BLACK, WHITE & ASIANS goin 2 see it. sorry, but LATIN CULTURE is not apealing

well, u might be right, but my hate has built up because of the research i did, and found out that the majority of LATINOS really dont like BLACKS or even DARKSKIN people in general, they only cater 2 LIGHT SKIN people. WHITE HISPANICS dont even like BLACK HISPANICS, thats why most LIGHT SKIN HISPANICS never wanna admit that they have some AFRICAN BLOOD in there vains. so im just keepin it real, and pointing out some facts, & thats why there will always be beef between BLACK & BROWN people

You seem to be overgeneralizing. Who are the majority of Latinos? What specific group are you talking about that dont like blacks. Yes there is a problem with light skinned Latinos being promoted over dark skinned ones. But dont light skinned blacks like Halle Berry and Beyonce get top billing on Magazines such as Essence? I am a white Latino and have nothing against dark skinned Latinos or blacks. I do admit that I have African blood. If we are so racist why did the majority of us vote for Bam?

Blanquito I don't know were you are from but if you would have studied or even lived in Humboldt park there are prietos and puertorican living together. If you look at m0st puertorican art we show were we came from.Spaniard, African and Tainos. If you ever take a trip to the island there no black or whites they are ALL boricuas. Do some research.Now if you feel superior cause you are blanquito that is on you.
