  • In response to the many questions I see posted below, this video was intended for the enlisted soldier or recruit desiring to enter into the 18X Special Forces Training Pipeline which for the Army Active Duty would be E4 and below Prior Service or Non Prior Service and for the Army National Guard would be Non Prior Service. I would recommend contacting an Active Duty or National Guard Recruiter for the most current requirements as they change often. Many of the answers below are incorrect.

  • All special ops teams are good. It's soldiers mine and mental that helps them become strong.

  • Comment removed

  • delta is better

  • What younglings dont realize is avg age of someone who is special forces is 35. so train for a while

  • Does the 18x program include people coming from OCS? if not what are the steps from OCS to Special Forces?

  • @DarkFenix34512 Make it to CPT then go for selection... they don't take Lts

  • @DarkFenix34512 18A Which is an SF Officer. They go to the same school, and learn the basics of all the 18 series jobs, then learn how to command and lead SF teams at an officer's level.

  • @meyerratken I heard they have to be Capt. Most are rangers

  • They are almost as good as a basic Marine! Not really, just razzing my Army Brothers!!!! Much respect to the Army Special Forces!!!!

  • i had no idea they trained in forein weapons. COOL!!!

  • @jar288 Thats 18 B weapons sargeant.

  • I was a 18x but they told me they had allot of priority people in front of me so if i wanted to continue id have to wait in airborn hold for six more months and i told them just to send me to a infantry unit

  • Isnt there a medical specialty? or is it just weapons and engineering?

  • @Sanctity2112 oh definitly its a special forces medic they go with all major missions and are a critical part of the team trained in combat and surgical skills it takes allot longer but by the time your done your basicly a trauma surgeon and you train on live specimen

  • This overview is refreshing for an Old SF guy; Co. A, SF Training Group 1964, Co C, 7th SF, D, Co 1st SF, 46 SF company, 6th SF Group, 5th SF, Group..Terminated 1972. Current President SFA, C-77. The guys today are actually better than we were. We got the job done, but we tried to burn the candle on both ends with drinking, smoking and endless parties when not deployed.

  • @DRF42

Love showing these videos to my wife. She has no idea what SF was all about. SF 7th Group, 71-74, 05B, Scuba.

  • Hopefully me in a few years. I know its no easy task but its my life dream.

  • @LAXbeast702 wish you the best

  • does the army pay for corrective eye surgery for SF guys

  • @hmt227 The army pays for anyone who wants lasik. It all depends on your active duty station and if you can get it done there. But If you want SF you best get lasik before training. Two years of intense training with classes sucks, trust me.

  • additional pay = gettin' paid like a rockstar

I have all of those requirments except the male part ugh thats some BS!!!!

  • @3153dee dont worry, you dont need a patch on your shoulder to have honor.

  • i like the CNN report on 18B school

  • modern day Ninjas

  • Yes, what would we do without them?

  • how do you become a special forces officer?

  • @tonka12121 the same way you become regular SF, officers have a few extra schools though and a little different training during the different phases. Mostly the same, just with a little bit of everything to better help you understand the ability of your team.

  • This video sucks. It is the video we show recruits and shows nothing about how hard this training actually is.

  • What if you have a GED?

  • @SageOnWow u need i think u need 15 hours of college credits but right now the army isnt recuiting people with out high school diploma

  • @SageOnWow youre gonna score on youre asvab 50 or higher to enter as a ged graduate,or like djq4550 said.lots and lots of college credits

  • I hope to become a part of the army special forces someday, does anybody know what the officers course of the training includes?

  • @SquiggleBlossom It's the exact same as for enlisted men. 4 parts of the SF course. You can go through it as a enlisted man, & if you want to become an officer in the SF you have to retake 3 (or 2) of the courses over again.

  • Can you have already been infantry or mp and still do 18x...does anyone now?

  • yea, a buddy of mine transfered from the air force to army infantry, and is currently in SF school. So yes, you can go from infantry to SF.

  • NO the only reason Fernanties buddy is like that is because he is coming from a different branch of the military. 18x is an all inclusive thing for those that have came in and have to go through Basic, airborne, SOPC and SOPC2. But you can go to selection no matter what you do in the army and see how you do. You can talk to an SF recruiter and ask to attend SOPC though i would suggest it.

  • wow, thats amazing.

  • i use to be in 10th SFG(a) the q coarse was good training

  • ummm does n e one know if an adult school diploma is good enough for special forces??

cuz i was told that and adult school diploma is the same thing as a regular highschool diploma

  • yes

  • ok thanx man :)

  • Does anyone know if US Army SF has a waiver for people that need to wear glasses? I saw some dude on this vid with glasses but I was told by a US soldier that one needs to have 20/20 corrected vision.

  • Yeah if you have glasses and they correct your vision to 20/20 you are fine.

  • Ok I see; thanks man.

  • @kyoukan91 thank you!

  • @kyoukan91

What does that mean? Like if you get eye surgery or somethign or if the glasses fix your vision?

  • @kyoukan91 can you get lasik with the army or do you have to get it on your own

  • @GeoffsUtubeAccount

They start with glasses, if you are correctable.

Eventually they get to lasik, or laser, but it takes a while.,

  • you dont have to have 20/20

  • correctable to 20/20....so yes, you can wear glasses

  • just a question for anyone who knows, what are the fitness standards to apply (like number of pushups, miles, etc)?

  • You need to be in very good shape. And For SF it's a selection process so you can pass everything but they only pick a select few and most people that go to SF selection are former Rangers and Infantry guys so you have to compete against them with the 18x contract. You'll do a fitness test before you ever go to selection they look at this and it let's them know how fit you are to really get looked at you want to do at least 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups 2 min each.2 mile run in at least 12-14 min

  • I'm also going for the 18x contract. Like i said in my other comment though it's a selection process so you can pass selection and not get picked i was talking to my dad(a retired Navy SEAL) and my two uncle's(Retired Green Beret's) and they all said most people go ranger's or 82 air borne before going for SF selection. They say you have more of a chance of being picked if you have some background first.Very few make it threw my Uncle went straight to SF back in vietnam with a contract good luck

  • 50 pushups, 2miles 14minutes

  • i can only do it in 16 minutes

  • If you really want to get looked at you want 100 push-up's, 100 sit-ups, and 2 miles in between 12 minutes o 14 minutes. Their extremly competitive so you want to stand out.

  • You need to max your push ups and sit ups at the 21 age group and you better not come in over 12 min for your 2 mile. As for going to the 82nd or the Rangers its good but there are just as many shitbags there as anywhere else. Alot more Xrays make it though because Sopc preps you really good if you have questions ask.

  • wow people actually helping each other with the comments. nice job guys. dont see that often on youtube lol

  • poisn oak

  • WTF 110 FUCK

  • :06-:09

Special Forces lesson 1: Don't stand around in poison ivy.

  • oh wow

  • Special Forces are badass. If I join the Army I'm going to try to become a Special Forces engineer, a Ranger, or a Delta Force Sniper.

  • Question:

Can a Grad from Thailand enter the programme?

  • i dont know for sure but u can find out pretty easily. just contact a recruiting office and the recruiters should be able to answer all your questions

  • What do u think??? Of course not!!!!!!

  • You have to be a U.S citizen though.

  • u can get ur us citizenship by joining like ppl in mexico join the us army but u give up ur birth countries citizenship and then pledge ur alligiance to the United states and u can get in back ground check needed as well and the asvab score.

  • Thank you for your feedback, that is very "open" for U.S. army policies. Giving up my birth countries and pledge alligiance to the United states would be a tough choice...but however, considered worth it. Thank you again.

  • Wait so I'm Canadian,If i apply for SF & qualify, I could get citizenship just like that?.

  • Well u get ur american citizenship when you join the US military any branch, I know ppl from all parts of Latin America that are now American citizens by joining the army, navy, marines, or air force, Then if u want to go SF u just need to volunteer for it and have what it takes to be one understand that a SF contract is like 5 plus years of service they dont just want to train you for you can leave.

  • I can commit to that,While i do this would i be able to attend university at the same time?,I'm also an aspiring teacher. If not would i be able to train as a warrant officer as I'd also like to be a helicopter pilot?.I really appreciate the response,i''ll contact a recruiter today.
