pretty easy to appreciate. you wanna rank guitarists? go ahead for whatever all that's worth. Maybe Rory wasn't the best player, but you think about doing this, typically in a 3 pc band. Singing, playing, filling the in-between spaces, and all of that with an energy level that was second to none. There's a few other performers who i like equally, but to go see live? I was lucky enough to see him 3 times. The first was as the opening act for ZZ top. He blew them away. Not even close.

just brilliant this is the man who took the guitar to the people in a totally unforgettable style I count myself very fortunate to have experienced this giant live as an 18 year old in 1975 unforgettable and jaw droppingly good, the whole band was sensational Rory didnt surround himself with egomaniacs or poor technicians only with people who loved the music like he did.

Thanks for the post...this is one rare song performed live! What a legend this man was. He played in Belfast and other parts of Northern Ireland during the height of The Troubles in the 1970's -80's, when everyone else was afraid to for fear of being blown up. That in itself deserves to be commended...bringing blues to the North!

I've been a fan since I was 55 (am 58 now). Don't know how I missed him growing up. Listened to tons of Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Clapton, etc. I have to say he is incredible, and favorite guitarist. Seemed like such a humble likeable guy to boot.
