I saw that rare 1970 GTO commercial, courtesy of YouTube. I dont understand why GM felt they needed to cancel the commercial...it did its job...which was to peak interest...and that VOE package was definitely musclecar material!!!
@ransferd If you read the description it shows ... basically by pulling a knob you can have a more free flowing exhaust at the expense of noise. It's useful for when you don't want to be loud like when cops are around or maybe when you are coming into your neighborhood at 3 am.
Correct, rare option and discontinued because it never worked as GM planned. The baffles would get to hot and would eventually not open. However, this is what made pontiac great. They were always willing to try new things, and most car companies were always keeping an eye on Pontiac.
