  • The quintessential rock jazz band, even though Fagens voice isn't what it used to be its still happening!

  • This is the song in which Jon Herington and Keith Carlock shine, but the sax player needs to listen to John Coltrane (needs little more SOUL/JAZZ).

  • At abthatsme91 I was named after this song as well! That's why it's my favorite. Except my name has two j's instead of one!

  • Seeing them tomorrow night and Monday at the Beacon here in NYC can't wait!!

  • I was there that night. What a great song and great band!

  • Still trying to figure out what that 'keyhorn' Fagen is playing during the instrumental section is. I never saw that before the Dukes of September concert last year. They need to bring out Edgar Winter and his keytar to do a duet LOL. Either way, looking forward to the KC SD show on the 25th

  • How did you get this man? Is there a DVD?

  • Steely Dan is going to be in Portland OR on July 3rd. I'm going. Look for them in your town. They're getting on in years and can't tour forever!

  • @drdan75 Someone posted some clips from that concert. The sound is terribly distorted, but still, brings back great memories!

  • I LOVE You Steely Dan!! There are NO words to describe the feeling you get when listening to your music -> EPIC!!! I saw you years ago at Pine Knob Resort in Michigan, would LOVE to see you again along with War!! Let's make it happen! You'd sell out across the US and Canada!! Love YOU keep Rockin<3

  • Thank you !!!!

  • Best recording/performance of this song that's out there. The solos are beautiful, and the little variations Fagen puts into the phrases (the flatness in 'Or so they say,') are perfect across the board. A song that soars and moves; particulary here.

  • I was at this concert....and remember actually crying when they started this song (third in the setlist) because it's my favorite, and I never dreamed I'd hear it live.

  • there were a couple of em they escaped the holocaust got it all togethjer wre eflatter than the fourth of july cranked aout the old hits and were all watching them all y'all how sadm isa that str8ung it out

  • I just find it humorous that their name is based after a dildo.

  • I was named after this song :D

  • Shame on me I live in Charlotte and missed this show. Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks a lot carlospc! Can´t stop enjoying The Dan!

  • Amazing footage!!!! Big Kudos to you! And many thanks! Steely Dan truly transcends time!

  • Keep going Donald and Walter. I will come to see you guys in my wheelchair!!! Great stuff.

  • hot song, love and the solos are incrdible, thanks for the post!

  • lol Keith dropped his stick at the end.

  • Sister? I thought she was his wife.

  • @blaster1985

No, they actually are siblings... and it's Carolyn Leonhart. And yes, she is smokin hot AND has an amazing voice. She has gigs frequently in NYC. Worth catching her performances.

  • @blaster1985

She has a hyphenated surname now, so I'm assuming that she's his sister, now married :(

  • What a great show, I hope they tour this way again soon... WOW

  • One of the best performances of this song ever. Go easy on the coca-cola, Don! Yeah!

  • When I die, and go to heaven (I hope), I want to hear this one every day for eternity!

  • genious's.

  • Keith's drums were sounding good.

  • IMHO that bass slappin' & poppin" during the verse is distracting. Amazing tune & vibe though.

  • One of the best songs ever! thx for posting!

  • still one of the greatest pieces of music ever done

  • fine

  • A sound of their own. So clean.

  • Man, OH man....a classic...an epic..and it sounds just as magnificent here as it does on the album itself!! Keith pulled off the drumming beautifully, favoring his own approach rather than trying to emulate Master Gadd beat for beat...very nicely done!!!

  • Thats funny.....Everytime I see Walt Weiskopf playing the sax, I also reach for mine!!!!!1

  • I like Gary's shirt !!

  • I was wondering when the Charlotte concert was going to make its way to youtube. For those of you who haven't seen the whole thing, there's a swack of great songs to come. Hey, Carlospc, post the opener, Turtle Talk, too.
