In the King James Version of the bible the Fourth Commandment Stands as "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy. Six Days shalt thou labour and do all that work, but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord that God.." That's only a portion its in Exodus 20:8-11 in KJV. That's my take on it. As for Ellen White. I believe there are inspired writers by God, but....
Exactly how closely do you believe the original commandments? Enough to connect them with the law of Moses and do what was commanded for those commandments from the law? Do you drink hot coffee, or make hot tea? Do you boil water to cook food? Do you bake? Have you ever lit a fire in your dwelling place. How often have you forgotten to get gas and made someone else work on a saturday morning so you can get to church?

That's a good question:) Ellen White believed that the most important commandment that stood out from the rest was the seventh day sabbath command, and yet, Jesus himself when asked about the two greatest commandments in the law didn't speak about it and didn't even quote it.
I am an exsda. Not long ago I talked to the General Conference of the sda I ask them could I be a sda if I did not believe in the 1844 IJ thing. They replied, to be a sda you have to except all 28 beliefs of the church. Since they teach there the only true church & if one rejects there teaching they will be lost. So salvation is not believing in Christ only, but belief in the sda church as ones saving grace. So salvation is to hold to 1844 thin, man talk about a shut door!

And needless to say i am just an ordinary person, I did not join the SDA "cult" as u put it in your message to me, because I believed every tiny detail of their fundamentals. But because vast majority of their fundamentals are more scriptural based than some certain counterparts. SDA has served as the foundation for me finding my own faith. No. Jesus did not break the Sabbath; the Jewish leaders you speak of were not in the spirit of the law. They were stuck in a time when the Israelites had to be re-molded to understand and obey God's Word. This is why everything was so strict. SDA church is the biggest Hippocratics known to man. They say you must do no work on the Sabbath day but yet the pastor is paid for preaching on the Sabbath day. when they come to church on Saturday morning they cut the lights on and call members to check on them and so forth! Christ pointed the way to the INTENT of the law. That is why your faith is shaken. Mine is not. I know He gathered corn on sabbath to so they would not go hungry. I know He healed on the Sabbath to help others and show mercy. Yet He did not routinely perform secular acts on the Sabbath like buying and selling, laboring in the fields, etc. He honored God's Sabbath and kept it. But, to adhere to strict rule of law for the sake of ritual would be to violate the SPIRIT of the law.

What about thieving, or adultery, or greed and envy? Would a gracious, kind and just God abhor these behaviors and desire his created beings to cultivate a like disposition? And is it so bad that after all He did for us, that he give us all a day of rest in which to contemplate Him and his creation? What, pray tell, is wrong with that?

Your understanding of mercy is flawed. Because we are merciful, do we excuse murder or thievery? The law is just and good and point's to the character of God. But, not only is God just, but He is merciful. So when we sin, He still provides a way to salvation. But, we cannot commit crimes and there not be consequences. Without the law, we do not know what is good and what is evil.
Of COURSE we are not justified by works. Following ritual or performing duties that are not based on heart-felt conviction are empty and hollow. But, that does not mean you can disregard God's will or disobey the guidelines He laid down to illustrate the difference between Godly behavior and criminal behavior. So yes, we walk by faith and belief in Christ; but, we also are known by our works.
The Ten Commandments are a personification of God's character and they teach us two things, as Christ summarized: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" and "Love your neighbor as yourself".
And if we fall, it is Christ's sacrifice that allows us to be forgiven. He is merciful and just.
There is no reason for fear nor alarm. Whoever taught you did you a great disservice. :'(

@imax1971 My take on it is simply this, us being the "remnant church" is only that we believe in the original commandments. In the King James Version of the bible the Fourth Commandment Stands as "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy. Six Days shalt thou labour and do all that work, but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord that God.." That's only a portion its in Exodus 20:8-11 in KJV. That's my take on it. As for Ellen White. I believe there are inspired writers by God, but....

I am an exsda. Not long ago I talked to the General Conference of the sda I ask them could I be a sda if I did not believe in the 1844 IJ thing. They replied, to be a sda you have to except all 28 beliefs of the church. Since they teach there the only true church & if one rejects there teaching they will be lost. So salvation is not believing in Christ only, but belief in the sda church as ones saving grace. So salvation is to hold to 1844 thin, man talk about a shut door!

And needless to say i am just an ordinary person, I did not join the SDA "cult" as u put it in your message to me, because I believed every tiny detail of their fundamentals. But because vast majority of their fundamentals are more scriptural based than some certain counterparts. SDA has served as the foundation for me finding my own faith. The Sabbath keeping i feel is a strong integral part of this reasoning.

SDA doctrine have plenty of bark but no bite. Meaning they put forth a lot of doctrines but most of it is not supported by scripture. Things like - Jesus was an angle micheal, commandments was given to all men, food, etc.... Even giving scriptures a different meaning to suit their belief. I what some one to ask and i will tell. I was a SDA member from 1989 strong to 2007 and fully left some 4yrs later. O I know all the weird teachings. I am happy to now be in Jesus grace and his commandments

They were stuck in a time when the Israelites had to be re-molded to understand and obey God's Word. This is why everything was so strict. They say you must do no work on the Sabbath day but yet the pastor is paid for preaching on the Sabbath day. when they come to church on Saturday morning they cut the lights on and call members to check on them and so forth! Christ pointed the way to the INTENT of the law. That is why your faith is shaken. Mine is not. I know He gathered corn on sabbath to so they would not go hungry. I know He healed on the Sabbath to help others and show mercy. Yet He did not routinely perform secular acts on the Sabbath like buying and selling, laboring in the fields, etc. He honored God's Sabbath and kept it. But, to adhere to strict rule of law for the sake of ritual would be to violate the SPIRIT of the law.

Your understanding of mercy is flawed. Because we are merciful, do we excuse murder or thievery? The law is just and good and point's to the character of God. But, not only is God just, but He is merciful. So when we sin, He still provides a way to salvation. But, we cannot commit crimes and there not be consequences. Of COURSE we are not justified by works. Following ritual or performing duties that are not based on heart-felt conviction are empty and hollow. But, that does not mean you can disregard God's will or disobey the guidelines He laid down to illustrate the difference between Godly behavior and criminal behavior. So yes, we walk by faith and belief in Christ; but, we also are known by our works.

The Ten Commandments are a personification of God's character and they teach us two things, as Christ summarized: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" and "Love your neighbor as yourself".
And if we fall, it is Christ's sacrifice that allows us to be forgiven. He is merciful and just.

@BibleJesusChristian All of them are correct. I'm not a big fan of the NIV because of all the verses left out and other mistakes but this particular verse is accurate.
1. to do = plunontes in the Greek meaning; to flow, to plunge ie launder clothing
2. commandments = stolas :here the Greek word means; equipment, or long clothing, stole, or fitting gown (as a mark of authority) Let's pray that we will all wear the beautiful robe and smile at Jesus when he puts a crown on our head!

Jesus said "IT IS FINISHED" no more killing of animals for the remission of sins, earthly sanctuary = done, over, now check it out - "For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands which are the figures of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us" Heb. 9:24 There's more! ..see next post

1. Since sin is breaking Gods law and Jesus did not break God's law: YES
2. I think His sinless life to redeem the lost, His atonement has been paid. What do you think He means?
3. I suppose anything is possible, but until probation is closed - is there a final judgement?
4. Keep God's commandments. What must a murderer or any sinner DO to be saved and enter into heaven? Same answer. You choose to obey Jesus or not.

@BibleJesusChristian Dude! This is not true at all. The SDA church doesn't believe that Jesus is bleeding in the sanctuary. He is in the heavenly sanctuary interceding for us as our high priest. We are all sinners ya know and need Jesus. Quit calling the dear Seventh Day Adventist people a cult. It's just mean spirited and not real Christlike is it?

Their Calling will bring them to light at that time, Yes Jesus saves all who dedicate them selves to his over whelming Grace, Mercy and love, How ever when that time comes those who profess to following Jesus are the ones that will be burnt at the stake, or be asked to denounce the work of the blood of Jesus in there lives. You go to any Church even Adventist and find the ones truely in commitment to God and you find the majority Sleeping, because we do heed the words of the bible (Re 1:3).

@BibleJesusChristian how does that quote tie in John 19:30. After Jesus died, He went to the Father. He was also on earth for 40 days aswell. but to get to the point. After Christ's death and ressurection. He ended up going into the Holy place part of the sanctuary to intercede. in 1844 He went into the Most Holy place to intercede but to also blot out our sins. after Christ is finished in the Most Holy place. that's exactly What Jesus will do, he will blot out our sins completly

@FatTonyAU....I don't know which faith you joined, but it definitely was not the SDA church, don't make excuses for your mistakes, because you have not studied properly, but make excuses for your wanting to follow the wrong path and prove to me that Satan is the sin bearer...you cannot....brother look deep inside your heart and around...WAKE UP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE...not all SDA's are faithful...but we must definitely have a personal experience with God and he will direct your path!
