  • I love BOTH Wilt and Kareem. They were both great. Who was better? They both were amazing, and unique. Both were incredible athletes. Both had unique styles. And both could dominate on both ends of the court. You can't deny the fact, however, that Kareem won more championships. Wilt's 50-plus point season is incredible, but Wilt only won one championship in his prime, and he played with two future hall of famers (Greer and Cunningham). Lew won a championship with a 35 year old Oscar Robertson.

  • I saw Alcindor play when he was a freshman at Power Memorial. I prefer to remember him as Alcindor- that is what his dad's name is and he should be proud of his name. My comment is not pertinent to his playing - is just an aside. I graduated high school Brooklyn, NY 68 and went into USMC but at least I got to see some interesting athletes in those days. Now everything is too commercialized. I hope Alcindor has found peace of mind.

  • Bill Walton overreacting as usually. Kareem wasnt superior to Wilt Chamberlain.

Also Willis Reed in his prime could held his own against Kareem and even outscore him.

So he wasnt superior to every player he every played against.

  • If Willis Reed played like that against Bill Russell, they would have won the championship in 1969.

  • Kareem was superior. give the man his credit that is do him. Wilt even said Kareem was the only player he needed help to guard because Kareem presented a problem for him.

  • Ofcourse Wilt said that , nobody could stop Kareem from scoring in his prime but also nobody could stop Wilt Chamberlain in his prime , no doubt that if played against each other in their prime both Wilt and Kareem would score on each other but Wilt would otuscore him and any other center in nba history .

After all a 35 year old Wilt with bad knees did sometimes outsocre Kareem and outrebounded hgim most of the times . No doubt who was better .

  • @garioldwin Kareem was a better player than Wilt when Wilt was at his peek. Wilt had some decent moves. Finger roll, but his dominance had more to do with no big players out there during his time. It's easy to do that when you're the only 7 footer. Take Kareem, he was a better scorer outside, free throw shooter and rivaled Wilt inside the paint. Kareem's game rivaled a forwards game. He was smoother and dominate.

  • @garioldwin Bull shit. Kareem was a better player. Not even Wilt dominated like that during his college years. Kareem came from the generation where they changed the game. late 60's early 70's player.

  • @epics7 well lucky for us kareem and wilt did play against each other so there isnt really a question who was better . this debate is pointless .

  • @epics7 A rule-changing argument favors Wilt, don't even go there ya dayum fool. Everyone was re-writing the books in a desperate effort to slow down Wilt from HS to College and to his first 4 Seasons in the NBA. No one has ever come close to 50ppg and 25rpg. Kareem is not a better player, he played against the 34-37 year old beefy Chamberlain with bad knees. From '57-'64 Chamberlain was a "lean" 275 yet could zip around the court as fast as a guard. In that time he would flat out murder Kareem

  • @dantheman9758 Your mother's a damn fool. That bitch. Wilt played against some small guys and never played against players his height that had the finesse game like Kareem had.

  • @epics7 You just travelled.

  • Was saying he was from Queens also a joke? Because he's not from Queens.

  • Uh...he played 20 years in the NBA
