I think this is wrong. The parents can give no individual attention to each child and have a good relationship. The wife won't have a life apart from looking after her children, and the rules are bent "like that" as she can't control loads of children at once.
@CandyLemonKiss It depends where you buy them. You can find new shoes..usually pretty crappy shoes..at Wal Mart, Kmart, Target, etc. for about $30. Usually people who are supporting a household, cannot afford $180 for shoes. I pay about $60 for mine.

you can make powder laundry soap by just adding the bar of washing soap, borax, and washing soda. put it in the food processor to grind it up and it makes a powder form. if you have a top load washer you can use the powder kind. i am going to do it. just look for the video on youtube for the recipe

You know there is no way this lady can homeschool every one of those kids from every grade level every weekday. For one there isn't enough time in the day and two she didn't get a teaching degree. IF the Duggars where smart they would send their kids off to real school instead of homeschooling them so they can get a REAL education and have a REAL social life. My God the oldest boy had to meet a girl on the internet and they didn't even kiss until they were married! How unhealthy.
Please, don't judge on my videos before you know the case. A lot of people are home schooled and they do not lack social skills or any skills at all. Did you know colleges and Universities accept home schooled before before public schooled people? If you watch their other episodes before judging and being stupid you'd see in almost every episode they have TONS of friends (teenagers and young kids) over or they go out with the.
I'm not judging on your video, I'm judging the Duggers. Alot of people who are home schooled DO have a lack of social skills. Universities and colleges do NOT except a home schooled child before a child that went to a REAL school because they got REAL education from REAL teachers. The mom doesn't have the knowledge or time to teach every grade level every day of the week. There is NO possible way they are getting the education they need and you are a fool if you believe otherwise.
I'm not saying you're wrong, just that you're not completely right. There are plenty of homeschooled children that are actually taught better and about a wider range of things than your average school child. Lots are even socialized very well. Though of course you only see or hear about the ones that aren't because that's how the world works, it takes the worst info and spreads it around and it ends up getting exagerated.
Unfortunatly it does have to be pointed out because for some reason there are many people out there that think a certain way a bout a lot of people a feel their perception fits every time.
My cousines are home schooled. They are 15, 14, 13 and 5. The 15 year old 14 year old and 13 year old know everything (+ more) of what I learn @ public school (I am 17). The oldest one already has 2 universities out of the country willing to give him a scholarship, one for his soccer achievements... the other for his math and academic achievements. They get the education they need, and they do not lack any type of skills. They have tons of friends over every time I go there. And I am not a fool.

On a homeschooling episode featuring the Duggars I saw that they had a woman from outside the home teaching several of the children how to play the violin, and I saw that they use a curriculum on the computer for their older children. I can't remember the name of the program.
@MwKShield1 Homeschooling groups exist as well. I have a cousin who attends a homeschool coop that meets twice a week and many different classes are taught. I had a another cousin who used a curriculum through BJU all the way through highschool. My sister's husband attended a homeschool sports group. It is very possible for parents to direct the education of their children and find some amazing resources to cover every aspect of their education.

The Duggars have friends, like xoxoixoxo said, the Bates, the Queries, and not to mention the Duggars play organzied sports, and meet children from all around the community. This episode is older, so if you watched newer ones, you would also see the are in no way deprived. They are always out on "field trips" exploring the real world, and learning.

How many 20 year olds are getting their own towing service off the ground? Both jobs require social skills. They are quite sociable. I've seen a couple episodes where they had friends over.

Has anyone tried this laundry detergent recipe? We have to buy fragrance- and dye-free laundry products and I was wondering if this recipe could fall into that category. It certainly would be cheaper than than the store-bought variety.

Home schooled is fine if done right. Preaching religion to kids who are not mature enough to make their own decisions, I disagree with. Some of these girls have the mentality of "i wont kiss a boy till im married"

I think this is wrong. The parents can give no individual attention to each child and have a good relationship. The wife won't have a life apart from looking after her children, and the rules are bent "like that" as she can't control loads of children at once.

you can make powder laundry soap by just adding the bar of washing soap, borax, and washing soda. put it in the food processor to grind it up and it makes a powder form. if you have a top load washer you can use the powder kind. i am going to do it. just look for the video on youtube for the recipe

It should be illegal to have this many kids. These kids aren't getting the proper education they should be getting. You know there is no way this lady can homeschool every one of those kids from every grade level every weekday. For one there isn't enough time in the day and two she didn't get a teaching degree. The only social life they have is family, what are they going to do when they get out into the world and realize its nothing like they think it is?

Did you know colleges and Universities accept home schooled before before public schooled people? I'm not judging on your video, I'm judging the Duggers. Alot of people who are home schooled DO have a lack of social skills. Universities and colleges do NOT except a home schooled child before a child that went to a REAL school because they got REAL education from REAL teachers. The mom doesn't have the knowledge or time to teach every grade level every day of the week. There is NO possible way they are getting the education they need and you are a fool if you believe otherwise.

There are plenty of homeschooled children that are actually taught better and about a wider range of things than your average school child. Lots are even socialized very well. Though of course you only see or hear about the ones that aren't because that's how the world works, it takes the worst info and spreads it around and it ends up getting exagerated.

My cousines are home schooled. They are 15, 14, 13 and 5. The 15 year old 14 year old and 13 year old know everything (+ more) of what I learn @ public school (I am 17). The oldest one already has 2 universities out of the country willing to give him a scholarship, one for his soccer achievements... the other for his math and academic achievements. They get the education they need, and they do not lack any type of skills. They have tons of friends over every time I go there. And I am not a fool.

On a homeschooling episode featuring the Duggars I saw that they had a woman from outside the home teaching several of the children how to play the violin, and I saw that they use a curriculum on the computer for their older children. I can't remember the name of the program.

@MwKShield1 Homeschooling groups exist as well. I have a cousin who attends a homeschool coop that meets twice a week and many different classes are taught. I had a another cousin who used a curriculum through BJU all the way through highschool. My sister's husband attended a homeschool sports group. It is very possible for parents to direct the education of their children and find some amazing resources to cover every aspect of their education.

The Duggars have friends, like xoxoixoxo said, the Bates, the Queries, and not to mention the Duggars play organzied sports, and meet children from all around the community. This episode is older, so if you watched newer ones, you would also see the are in no way deprived. They are always out on "field trips" exploring the real world, and learning.

How many 20 year olds are getting their own towing service off the ground? Both jobs require social skills. They are quite sociable. I've seen a couple episodes where they had friends over.

Duggar family your so awesome! Your kids arn't allowed to watch TV and computer time is limited, you also home school your children! How awesome..What do you guys learn during home school? The bible? Yay! And then when mom is pregnut the kids get to take care of the smaller kids! And then the kids cook the food, woohoo. That is one awesome family. Even though you guys make 60K a epesode you own more property to rent out to make ends meet..M'kay..?

Ugh, the Duggar family. I hate how they think there so speacial with there 19 children that sometimes at stores act like it's free for all and there girls with there fugly long skirts, and them making there own soap. There not in debt because companys give them coupons and give them free diapers on top of that they make about 60K a show. "We love god so much were going to make him happy by having a shit load of kids and us girls in the family are going to were long skirts for you god!".

Oh please, I've seen SO many parents with ONE kid that is more of a disturbance in a store than all of her boys combined! I don't necessarily agree that they need to keep having as many kids as possible, but really...where does hate get us in life, anyways? They're a sweet family and compared to what I grew up with, i'd LOVE to be part of this family.

Ugh! I keep watching to see if the older girls will start acting like teenagers instead of robots. So far, nothing. I hope at least one of them decides they are not having children and moves out when they are 18 and goes to college to pursue a career of some sort.

Michelle has absolutely no control of her kids. All of her kids are just running and playing through the store, and even when she asked them to stop they really didnt listen to her. She said she gave them a pep talk but it apparently didnt work. I have heard Michelle and Jim Bob say before that they have chosen not to raise their voice at their kids, but sometimes in a situation like this talking to them nicely doesnt do the trick. If I were her I would be so embarrassed by their behavior there

Children don't always listen the first time you talk to them. I still think she did a great job. For being small kids they are not too raucous and they don't actually destroy anything like you see it with other kids.

1. Hey, where did JB get that expensive camera from when they went to the ICFV? I know he didn't buy it from a thrift store or a flea market. Don't get these ppl. They'll buy use sneaks and clothes that's been on others back and feet. Disgusting, since their prosperous. Yet it raises a good question. They shop at thrift stores because that's the only place they can find ugly out of style clothing for their girls. I always wondered where they got all those hideous jean skirts from that go all they way down to their ankles. Now I know. People need to stop donating those things. Rather then throw them away, some low income-poor ppl out there desperately need anything to put on and wear. Duggar aren't in that situation yet take advantage of something that was meant for poor. I say if you can afford to spend $7000.00 on a car, you can afford to buy new clothes and shoes for your kids. JMO lol

What exactly is JB saving up for, a private airplane with barfbags? College? BS! one of the girls got her GED at 16, she's now 19 and haven't seen the inside of a college. I saw their website that had a link for Josh and Anna. This was about 6 months or so ago. They had links to the places they had their bridal registries and all this stuff they wanted... some very expensive..I think Anna was all ready pregnant by then..
They sure wanted nice, new things for wedding gifts when others had to pay for it. Someone commented saying it would be hard to register at a thrift store.
I e mailed them asking why they would do that because of their "buy used and save" motto.

"By cheap save the difference" Save the difference for what? To buy more materialistic things while their children's wear run over shoes and faded out dated clothings when they can afford to buy new?

Has anyone tried this laundry detergent recipe? We have to buy fragrance- and dye-free laundry products and I was wondering if this recipe could fall into that category. It certainly would be cheaper than than the store-bought variety.

I use this recipe for laundry detergent and it works great!!! We have the same no dyes/no fragrance need in our house and have been making our own for 2 years :)

This family talks to much on religion. I saw one episode were they go to a museum and they interviewed the kids and they said the world 6,000 years old. That doesn't make any sense.
