I had the incredible luck to be able to meet him after this concert. He told me that he was hanging his hat up in LA for a while and would be popping up at venues sporadically, but no more hard ticket sales for a while. Two days ago he did small venue in LA called 'The Largo'. Sold out instantly. He played only songs he'd written in the last 3 months or were at least 10 years old. Be on the lookout and check his tour dates often. You might get lucky like I did :)
I don't think it's fair to say that someone can be embodied by a single style. He is a musician and the term embodies many facets, including jazz, blues, folk, ect. People get bored.
I see, never heard it before. It's good. But I think it's sad at the same time to see Andrew Bird leaving his roots with jazz, occasional blues (like Fatal Flower Garden) and traditional folk. This song is folk-ish, but a lot of his new songs are very pop-like and not as unique as Andrew really can be.
i wish i was special...
you're so fuckin special....

Wasn't this his last show before going on sabbatical? Sad. It's so odd that his list of tour dates on his webpage is totally blank now...
