hi folks did any of you read what the choreographer put up there in the notes-its not samba. brazil has many dances this is leaning more towards the spirtual side of bahia movement from candoble not one samba step was in this routine
A friend from Brazil told me that this music is not samba. Kids in my school use to dance samba with it, but the Brazilian girl swear that it is not samba. Even if it was samba, the good thing about dancing is the ability to perfom any choeography with any type of music.

this is a variety of Samba called "Battucada" and is danced almost as same like the Samba

it's doesn't technically danced the same as samba.
we dance batucada differently than samba

I loved the choreography, like modern ballet. The dancers also looked like they enjoyed and had fun. More power to the group!
