  • Outstanding! Thanks for posting 1 & 2!

  • Nice Job, Peter! Congratulations! This song is so beautiful!

  • Andy's solo is the icing on this beautifully layered prog cake....73 was a genius year for album releases...Genesis SEBTP..Yes CTTE..King Crimson LTIA..Strawbs BURSTING AT THE SEAMS..Focus MOVING WAVES..Nektar REMEMBER THE FUTURE..Peter Sinfield STILL..E.L.P LIVE...Pink Floyd DSOTM...Santana WELCOME The Mark/Almond Band '73"...Billy Cobham SPECTRUM..etc. A notable year indeed.

  • ANDY POWELL!!!

  • This was a great song to get stoned to !

  • SUPER, GREAT VOICE.

  • Annie unleashed...I am amazed she doesn't shatter all the glass in the house.

  • SIMPLY BEAUTIFULL !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think this rivals Yes' Starship Trooper a one of the great instrumental endings in all of rock and roll.

  • Imagin my feelings.........long ago !

  • Saw them twice, once at Dickinson College in Carlisle PA and the other in Harrisburg. Annie Haslam is totally awesome. Music like this is unheard of today.

  • Renaissance in Harrisburg this Wednesday Oct 14, 2009

  • @sang3366 Was the Dickinson show in 1975? I was there. Heard about it the day of the show and no one would go with me. So I went alone. Their loss as it was something I remember to this day. Also saw them at the Tower in Philly (with Spirit) and again at Millersville. For a small state school they always had great concerts.

  • GREAT guitar solo from MR: ANDY POWELL from the legendary band WISHBONE ASH. He was a big friend of Renaissance. I have seen both bands many times live on stage. Renaissance good WA better. Renaissance played everytime first and then WA. It was good combination of music in the good old 70. WA are now 40 years on the road. Enjoy both bands.

  • One of my favorite guitar solos ever! He appeared with them in NYC for this song at a concert I attended and it was otherworldly. WNEW-FM broadcast the concert live and I've been trying to locate a recording of that performance for over 30 years.

  • Hi, thank you for your answer. I feel with you. What a day to see andy powell together with renaissance - wow. if you got a copy of this concert please think about me. i never know that andy did the guitar solo live for them. see renaissance several time at support for wa in germnay. in the good old 70.

    greeting

    franz oevermann

  • I would pay money just to hear annie sing the ingredients off of a cereal box.

  • LOVE it! Thanks for the upload, Peter. What a GREAT band. Bravo ANNIE! She can bring tears to my eyes with the beauty & power of her voice - an Amazing gift - to us. And Bravo Andy - a prog demi-god, for guesting on lead. I'm gunna have to go find some Wishbone Ash next. lol

  • 'Ballad of the Beacon' is on my Fav's list!

  • Hey, cool. Great song. My Faves tend to be from their first 3 albums. I'll have to check out your channel. Thanks

  • I saw them a few times at the old Academy of Music in New Yorkin the 70's. They had a giant mirror ball in the middle of the theater that would light up and shine little ashes on everyone during the finale. What I wouldn't give for a video one of those shows! Thanks!

  • didn't they just release a dvd from a 1978 concert? i share the same fond memorys that you have 2old2Rock.

also had the luxury of seeing Renaissance in Albany, Yale, Orpheum in Boston, Capitol Theater in Passaic, UC Berkely, and San Francisco. And back in N.Y. Carnegie Hall, Radio City, City Center, Madison Square Garden Arena, and possibly the Nassau Colliseum. And lastly the Beacon Theater with Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span.

June 7, 1985, still have the ticket stub!

  • Thanks for the heads-up! I did a little Googling and found that the the DVD will contain parts of two shows from the 70's and will be available in January in the US. Can't wait!

  • great shows in n.y.c was there myself !!

  • Gefühl ist Sehnsucht, die sich im Unendlichen verliert.......und in Zeitlichkeit Freude findet.

  • Ashes are burning the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.....

  • I saw them at massey hall, Toronto, fifth row, dead centre, Annie sent chills down my spine for two hours. Great memory.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! & oh yes, nice song.

  • Oh, thank you, thank you!

  • I love this video! Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you, Peter.

  • i found this by accident, the only song i've heard by renaissance is of coarse northern lights, man what have i missed, annie has a fantastic voice.

  • think you missed Prologues Ashes Are Burning

Turn of the Cards Scherazade and other Storys

Novella and a Song for all Seasons (which i think Northen Light is from) Also you can't go wrong with Live at Carnegie Hall which is almost like a best of album (cd) flubs and all! To this day Renaissance holds the distinction of being the only rock band to sell out Carngie Hall for 4 consecutive nights! And, the Rolling Stones were playing downtown!

  • thought I was the only one to remember Renaissance. used to see them in a fancy(only for the Philharmonic ) auditorium.only exceptions were Renaissance and Shawn Phillips, both of which filled the venue quite well.... in in attendence aswell as sound. and YES!...Annie DOEZ RULE!

  • It's been a long time since I don't listen to this beautiful song! Lovely!

  • Great song, I listened it a lot when I was teen... thanks Peter!!!

  • seems like you work hard doing this video.

congratulations, i´ve been listening renaissance since the 70´s and this is one of my favorites.

  • It just dont get any better then this. I can remember being at many Renaissance shows. During Ashes Are Burning, there were 26,000 lighters and candles held high with flames a glowing. Awesome !!

  • Thank you, Peter. I had this on vinyl and saw them perform this live. My all time favorite, simply beautiful.
