Sorry to burst your bubble, but our Bernese Mountain Dogs do the same thing (with the same "inflection" and persistence) when they think you should be playing with them, but aren't. Nothing scared about that dog

Don't want to start a *%@#! storm here but the term newfie is considered highly offensive by most people from Newfoundland.For many of us it's the equivalent of using the dreaded "N" word to refer to Black People.If you need a short form to describe the dog you'll find that perhaps the word Newf would be more accepted. I know that the majority of video submiters to YT innocently use the word, but hey, this vid has had over 6,000 views, maybe after 6,000 more we will see a trend.

the breed is called Newfoundlander,how do you expect to be shortened? in this particular case it's a video ABOUT THE DOG so it's pretty normal we all refer to the dogs...besides...i don't find anything offensive about these dogs being named the same way as people..people from newfoundland should be proud about it! these dogs are some of earths greatest creatures! and like it's often said about them: they have all of men's qualities but none of their defects or weaknesses

Tks for comment. But please, the breed is the Newfoundland. I know people shorten it to Newfie.Problem is,sometimes, the people of NFLD are refered to as Newfie,for many of us thats very distastful. The more the term is applied to the dog the more likely it is to mistakenly applied to us. Would you call a person from Pakistan a "Packi" I think not. Now, I expect to hear many more replys to this but I will say no more because many will be like that idiot inuyashanewf, he defines the word Newfie

Haha...perhaps he thinks his family must be protected from the evil mower! The last Newf member of our family was Uno, who lived with us from time to time. His preferred method of begging was to stand and bark at someone. "What part of WOOF don't you understand?" On the other hand, our first Newf, Attila, was so quiet that we had to teach him to ring a bell to go out.
