yeah you pay to play online, so you can talk to eight buddys who are all enjoying different games such as gears, forza and left 4 dead. red ring has been fixed for while although a year or two ago it was a problem.. killzone is fun, thats why im watching this video. too bad R2 sucked though. halo3 rocked but got boring way too fast. Luckily halo will get an add-on giving us full customization over three new maps. have you played fallout 3 or gta4? you should get the add-ons for those games...

ya, but microsoft beat everyone to the punch like a year early, so ya there was some repricussions (red ring), with any kind of new high tech gadget. but by the time PS3 rolled around and later... the 360 had the red ring Drastically reduced...Unless you have an older xbox the new ones with the "jasper" chips in them have a VERY low failure rate. I guess it comes down to if your tolerant of that kind of stuff. for me i think its worth it, maybe you dont think so.
i found out the other day that the PS3 isn't backward compatible with ps2 games, what a piece of crap. Xbox360 is, Wii is, even the DS is, why isn't PS3 they had more time to develop it.
Well, depends on when u bought the ps3. The first editions had it, but also were very expensive. Then Sony decided to bring out another version, with 40Gig instead of 60 and without the ability to play ps2, but also €200 less expensive. So it depends on which version u bought. ;-)
your lucky you got yours when it first came out. The new ones aren't backwards compatible. The xbox360 is a better system, thats why all games are 1st developed on xbox360 than ported to PS3. The xbox360 is easier to program games for.

I've had mine for years and its never fucked up. Yes Microsoft did beat Sony to the punch and Sony is still chasing Microsofts tail. Sadly the ps3 needs to use a bluray disc to store its games because the processors are garbage and need to be told what to to do more frequently, a bit like a an aged Pot smoker (and the people that play ps3)where as an xbox360 is like an intelligent scholar, smart and efficent in its decision making(just like the people that own xbox360's) and only needs DLDVD's.

i played Killzone 2 the other day at my mates place for the first time and i got runs of 10 kills without dying numerous times by using a simple tactic of hiding in an elevated room and zooming in and picking oppenents off, it was like shooting ducks in a barrel. If I tried that shit on Halo3 I would have taken out after the 2nd kill. From what i've seen the skills of the average Killzone2 player are way down on that of the average Halo 3 player.

Controlling your character on Killzone2 is like controlling a cripple.You can barely jump,when you try and duck it seems like you've got arthritis, and his Melee attack is pissweak,i got in a room with an opponent the other day when i played it for the first time and it felt like i was having an boxing match with him trying to take him out with a melee(how many times do you have to hit them to kill them?)i could have used my knife if i could wait for him to spin it 10 times before he uses it.
Like i said it seperates the week from the chaff and u actually have to hit ur opponent twice with a melee attack to kill them if their at full health u must have been way off the mark and dont try to convice the world that halo 3 is any different as i used to own the pile of garbage

The online community is great. Pretty much all problems were fixed. I've never had ANY lag, and it's easy to join your friends to play multi player games now.

Or just talk about the problems the system had after it came out like they still are problem's. I own both systems incase your wondering, I picked up the xbox 360 from my brother for cheap. actually, the ps3 has a more powerful processing power than the 360. gears of war was an example of the limitations the 360. kill zone 2 uses a little more then half of the ps3's procesing power. imagine a game using almost 100%. the ps3 is far more powerful. thats why killzone 2 is going to kick ass.

HDMI isn't needed for HD gaming, component works just as well, HDMI is needed for 1080p gaming but as anyone worth their sal will tell you, most games arent native 1080p, CoD4 for example is 540p natively...not even HD! But it still looks good upscaled to 720p or even 1080p

Well, depends on when u bought the ps3. The first editions had it, but also were very expensive. Then Sony decided to bring out another version, with 40Gig instead of 60 and without the ability to play ps2, but also €200 less expensive. So it depends on which version u bought. ;-)

your lucky you got yours when it first came out. The new ones aren't backwards compatible. The xbox360 is a better system, thats why all games are 1st developed on xbox360 than ported to PS3. The xbox360 is easier to program games for.

I've had mine for years and its never fucked up. Yes Microsoft did beat Sony to the punch and Sony is still chasing Microsofts tail. Sadly the ps3 needs to use a bluray disc to store its games because the processors are garbage and need to be told what to to do more frequently, a bit like a an aged Pot smoker (and the people that play ps3)where as an xbox360 is like an intelligent scholar, smart and efficent in its decision making(just like the people that own xbox360's) and only needs DLDVD's.

you mentioned Halo 3 is the "disney of online shooters" i came only assume your saying that because of the Fantasy environments and weapons and the lack of gore. As an intelligent non-psychotic normal citizen i don't need over the top gore to enjoy a game, rather, i enjoy the balanced weapons and intelligent map designs and the creativity of building my own maps with Halo 3. Halo3 is way more fun than Killzone 2 mostly because you can do split screen online with some mates.

i played Killzone 2 the other day at my mates place for the first time and i got runs of 10 kills without dying numerous times by using a simple tactic of hiding in an elevated room and zooming in and picking oppenents off, it was like shooting ducks in a barrel. If I tried that shit on Halo3 I would have taken out after the 2nd kill. From what i've seen the skills of the average Killzone2 player are way down on that of the average Halo 3 player.

Controlling your character on Killzone2 is like controlling a cripple.You can barely jump,when you try and duck it seems like you've got arthritis, and his Melee attack is pissweak,i got in a room with an opponent the other day when i played it for the first time and it felt like i was having an boxing match with him trying to take him out with a melee(how many times do you have to hit them to kill them?)i could have used my knife if i could wait for him to spin it 10 times before he uses it.

My 4 year old kids play split screen together with me and they love exploring the maps and driving the vehicles( what? Halo3 has vehicles). So if you are a big angry adult you need a big angry game to play like Killzone2 to make you feel like a big man to all the little kids that dream of playing a FPS.

nothing against kids at all, I used to be 1 and many wud argue i still am, my point is I like to play against intelligent opponents who dont need to jump 20 feet in the air at the 1st sign of trouble firing wildly in the hope of getting a kill. id much rather play an online shooter where running and gunning wont work, teamwork and tactics are gospel in KZ2, charge through the map like john wayne and u get punished by 1 of 16 opponents on the other team (what KZ2 has 32 player online matches)

the fact that multiplayer games seemlessly blend into 1 is a good thing, a breath of fresh air. it reduces time speant between matches and seperates the weak from the chaff, plus u dont have to play online matches that switch between rules, u can simply select to play deathmatch only or search and destroy only. if u find it hard differentiating between what game rules are currently playing then surely u are the retarded 1. No, the best game for ps2 was deffinetly "BLACK", if you have not played it, i really think you should check it out, it has ps3 graphics on a ps2, and the controlls and shooting have nothing to envy from cod4, the only downside is it had NO multiplayer

But, Killzone 2 is going to be good I think. No system is better, it's all about game preference. Why bash something already great to try and defend something you don't even know is good yet.
Knowing how bad the online community usually is, this game could already be doomed online.

The online community is great. Pretty much all problems were fixed. I've never had ANY lag, and it's easy to join your friends to play multi player games now.
The biggest problem is fanboys will make stuff up, tell other fanboy's like it's a fact and then they will spread the rumors. Or just talk about the problems the system had after it came out like they still are problem's. I own both systems incase your wondering, I picked up the xbox 360 from my brother for cheap. No red Circle... yet.

actually, the ps3 has a more powerful processing power than the 360. gears of war was an example of the limitations the 360. kill zone 2 uses a little more then half of the ps3's procesing power. imagine a game using almost 100%. the ps3 is far more powerful. thats why killzone 2 is going to kick ass.

PS3 has a much better processor, 360 has a "better" graphics card in which it is more suited to its job (rendering graphics etc)
Multiplatform games look pretty much identical these days, its just the first party and exclusive games that are different, take a look at uncharted 2, killzone 2 and then wait for up to date vids of God of War 3. If you though Killzone 2 looked good, wait for God of War 3...

All ps3 games only run at around 30% SPU, further in 2009 will the SPU be used at 100% thus graphics and rendering will make the xbox 360 as graphical as a toaster.

HDMI isn't needed for HD gaming, component works just as well, HDMI is needed for 1080p gaming but as anyone worth their sal will tell you, most games arent native 1080p, CoD4 for example is 540p natively...not even HD! But it still looks good upscaled to 720p or even 1080p
