  • @ProHabsburg Ugh!! Schalk!! Mein Gott!!!! Anyway, thank you for posting this monstrosity. At least Novak had the sense not to reinstate these criminal activities. Poor Bruckner, he has suffered so much.

    Actually this is a real document to show us where Schalk was coming from. And the more we can get the Schalk out of Bruckner the more we'll remember the real Bruckner (like the 7th symphony Schalk-Nikitsch tempo changes in 1st and 4th movements for example).

  • @MrLetzark Wenn Schalk, dann Knappertsbusch. Sicherlich läßt sich trefflich darüber streiten, ob Bruckner das nötig hatte. Es gibt übrigens noch eine klanglich sehr viel besser klingende Decca-Studioaufnahme mit den Wiener Philharmonikern von 1956. Dieser Live-Mitschnitt ist klanglich leider nicht in derselben Liga, und auch das Orchester patzt einige Male.
