Yeah, that's Spalding on lead for the opening medly that Bob Bogle use to do. Gerry takes the lead for the rest of the show unless they do "Blue Dawn" which Spalding plays. I don't recall if they did "Blue Dawn" at this performance.
The Shad's were indeed a great group though a little too polite and well mannered for the U.S. market. The Ventures rocked harder and its great to see they're still at it!

They are missing Nokie, no one can play lead like Nokie. Listen to this song when Nokie plays lead, you can tell the diff.
