George's dad died, and then he died from jumping in front of a bus to save a stranger. Alex had the whole thing with Ava/Rebecca, and he loved Izzie for ages before they got together, and then Izzie got cancer. Oh and another bad thing for Meredith - she had her hand in a body on top of an active bomb.

If you think it about all her interns (Meredith,Cristina,Izzie,Georg­e + Alex) have been through a lot - Meredith's mum died from Alzheimers, she drowned and nearly died. Cristina had a miscarriage. Izzie fell in love with Denny and he died hours after proposing to her, her daughter got cancer and Izzie gave her bone-marrrow, and then she got cancer.

Love this scene... it does show you where Bailey's head is... she's had to operate on everyone but Alex. Christina lost a baby, George died, Izzie is sick and Bailey just wants one of them to come out ok.
