Dear sister unity, thanks for this free interpretation of this story. But the original meaning of it is much more crude. It's a french seventeeth century fairy tale. The girl is a maid, she's dressed in red because it makes her attractive. The forest is a place out of civilization, therefore rough and evil for anybody of that period because one had to struggle against nature. The wolf represents any lewd man wanting to abuse maiden. And there is no helpful lumberjack at the end
