Don't get them pierced with a gun at the mall/store. That causes it to be infected easily and likely to grow over and require surgery. It might cost a little more but go to a tattoo/piercing specialist and they will do it with a sterile needle. I've had all my piercings done by a tattoist/piercer and haven't had much problem.
