  • @act440 They're Motegi FF6s in gunmetal. Motegi no longer makes them, but I do have them for sale if you're interested.

  • @act440 They are a universal 5 lug, will fit 5x100 and 5x114.3/5x4.5. They are 16 x 7. $300 + actual shipping cost. You'd need a set of tuner lugs, around 30 bucks.

  • @Euphorica It is holding up very well. The AP equal length header is reinforced in all the areas prone to cracking in other brands. There are a few others that do this too, but I can't remember who right now..

  • @red666A Apexi GT Spec is somewhere in the middle, but they don't make a header that i know of. The GT Spec header is not Apexi, but still a good brand.

  • do you have to Perrin signature series front mount inter cooler...cause with that turbo your gunna be hauling some whp. just wondering if it's worth buy the 1300 dollar set or just getting one that isn't as expensive.

  • I have a Turbo XS fmic, which is the same size as the Perrin, but about 200 bucks cheaper.

  • Easily. They'll handle up to 900hp.

  • Equal length headers are a proven power gain. Subaru WRC uses equal length headers too! Nice sound, I have the Valentine V1 also!

  • That's what I try to tell folks, but it seems the masses have already decided EL headers are "bad" for the WRX. Seems like the boxer rumble, rather than performance, means everything..

  • Yeah. I know. I'm tired of people telling me its going to sound like a Honda. If you know the history of the WRX and STi, and its capabilities -- it doesn't matter. Its worth the top end gains.

    Sounds like a Greddy Type S on there.. love that whistle. Very distinct hehe.

    It's actually an SSQV, but only opens the small valve revving at idle, which does sound a lot like the type S.

  • Well that's the thing bro, people get caught up with the boxer rumble. They would rather have the sound over the performance. But let them be them! I personally love the EL header sound on the WRX. I'm not really a fan of the boxer sound, but that's just me. Nice car and SICK sound.

  • Right, but you gain more power and torque, have a smoother power band, open up the breathing for top end, and have lower exhaust gas temps with an equal length header.. it's more than worth it to me.

  • Not bad, considering I don't have much of an interior anymore.. just racing seats and rollcage.

  • For the love of god, I can understand squeezing a cpl horses from the equal headers but come on man get some form of unequal length headers on there. ur subie sounds like a honda. You dont want that reputation.

  • Anyone with any sense knows the difference between a Subaru and a Honda, so I'm not worried about the sound.. and it's much more than a couple of horses- try 11whp and 19wtq, plus lower EGTs, a smoother power curve, faster spool, and more top end power. EL > UEL anyday.

  • So you make good extra numbers with the el headers, and hurt your performance with the bov. Odd logic there....

  • LOL.. for the split second I run rich between shifts, it's not doing enough to "hurt performance". Tuning works wonders for that. And "odd logic"? Why do you think all the high-powered drag, rally, and time attack cars run them? I guess we're all noobs....

  • Well there is a remedy to that. You can get the Perrin Blow-thru Boost pipe and relocate the MAF sensor to just before the TB. Then you can run VTA all you want without people like Mercarian chiming in with their wisdom, haha.

  • Couldn't agree more. The spool is usually a little more delayed with EL. Have you actually noticed quicker spool? Stock headers and UEL spool a little faster than EL I thought. Unless I read wrong.

  • I seemed to have faster spool, although it comes in about the same time on the dyno as before.. could be the additional low end torque giving me the illusion of faster spool.

  • any fitment issues? heatwrapped?

  • No fitment issues.. bolts directly in, retains the OEM bolt flange and pattern. Although many recommend heat wrap, I did not because it voids the warranty.

    Side note- to mount this header onto a 2.0 WRX, you'll need the 04+ STi oil pan.
