This film was made in 1947, but this scene is supposed to be taking place in about 1915. Typical of Hollywood at that time, this song has absolutely no resemblance to American music in 1915 and is completely of the 1940s, since it's basically a boogie-woogie - that's the "rumble, rumble, rumble" part.
I've liked Betty ever since I started seeing her old movies on TV in the 1960s, but a little of her can go a long way, with the crazed exhilaration that sends her arms and legs flying.
i am a new huge fan of betty hutton. it really burns me that most of her movies are not available for dvd. they're just rotting away in some studio vault..
betty hutton was simply amazing! i am trying to find all of her movies on dvd. i am having a tough time trying to find them all..she did about 35 movies that i know of. hopefully, the studios will release more of her movies on dvd, or maybe come out with the SIGNATURE BETTY HUTTON COLLECTION. that would be cool.
wow ! I discovered Betty over the summer and fell in love with all of her numbers ! she was a ball of energy and such an actress ! I am a jazz vocalist and am determined to keep this spirit and talent alive . I ordered a few of her numbers to perform one of my favorites includes Murder he says it was hard to find ! but I was determined what is this songs title ? Is it Rumble?
She had so much energy, just totally put it all out there. What guy would have had enough confidence to pursue her? I loved the way she got help for her exit :~)
Sigh... I found out she died only a couple of days after she did when I was looking for an address to send her a fan letter... I was so sad and horrified that I cried!
I saw this movie when I was a kid & this song has stayed with me all my life, thanks for posting it. Betty Hutton was a great talent & will be greatly missed.
2007?? How old was she here? Lol, ”shut up!”

Aw, that's great! :D I sing her songs too, but I sing more "show tunes" than "jazz"
The song is called "Rumble, Rumble, Rumble"

it's strange and sad how today never matches up to the standards of tomorrow.

A little known 1940s musical called The Perils of Pauline. I must've viewed it over ten times on dvd. It's pretty underrated.
