This band had Nr1 hit here in Argentina with "Wound in my heart". Beautiful song, I remember from the years when I was starting high-school. Thanks michthoo and sorry for my english.
This beautiful song represent the wonderful legacy that any great artist want bequeath to the future. I love this song because extend herself more than any time or mode. When I dream have sex with a beloved woman, I think in this unforgetable song
@jms9794 Thank for your kind words. I have unforgetble memories fom wonderful women that I have loved in my life. Ever I have been lonely however I have love without correspondence from the other side. Mo metter, the important is hoard up unforgetable memories of beloved peolpe and beloved times.
sheer brilliance for the shuffled lineup Propaganda - beautiful voice Betsy Miller, they should have continued in this vein > but alas! great video too - love the faux silent movie theme! judging from the number of views this is very popular!!
What a heavenly voice. Makes my heart joyful. Listening to this one makes me think that I am a supermodel walking on a catwalk while this song is playing.
Finally a Propaganda lineup that featured someone who could sing. Claudia and to a lesser extent Susanne couldn't sing for toffee, but they still made great songs.
With Claudia it was all about shouting, there was never any semblance of control or being in tune. Betsi Miller however is in a different league entirely and its a pity that Propaganda 2 didn't take off as both she and they deserved much, much more.
Lets face it Propaganda is Michael Mertens... whatever the singer... its his orchestrally inspired blend of techno percussive "sounds" that makes their unique timeless music sound so unique over the decades.
@derekcfoley u dont know what your saying u bellend , the singer ( my mom ) helped with everything , she wrote the biggest couple songs and coreographed some , PRICK.
@shchbb96 go back read and understand my post properly before you take things too personally & comment - doesn't do you any favours! Actually I love Betsi's voice on this track actually and this is one of my favourite songs of all time - Re coreographed (means dancing) -do you mean she helped on musical production/arrangement of the track? Which parts did Howard Jones write? Can you ask your mum - I can hear him do harmonies throughout and remember the co-writing credit on the 12" single's label
@shchbb96: Fortunately I still own the original 12 inch. Whenever i think this world has done me any harm i love to listen to it - and know how much trouble on earth might be which has not affected me.........
What is it with all the moaning about which "Propaganda" was best. For heavens sake, I am a massive Claudia Brucken fan, and "Secret Wish" was one of the best albums ever, but just appreciate this album for what it is - fantastic. Betsi Miller has a great voice, and to me this album stands up to most of the best Propaganda with Claudia. Shame there doesn't seem to be a better quality video of this song around anywhere though. Or is there?
This song is from the album 1234, from 1990. Michael Mertens is the only member remaining from the '80's cast. So, the 1234 cast was formed not before, but after the original cast from the eighties, with Claudia Brucken. The songs on the album 1234 are a complete break with the style of the original band too. So that is why this does not deserve the Propaganda label.
@euryuie: Susanne Freytag was not billed as a core member of Propaganda "2.0", but she appears prominently on "Vicious Circle" and "Ministry of Fear". Ralf Dörper's contributions, also not core, appear in songwriting credits on 1234.
@euryuie: Continuing this thought: I've had a lot of time to think about your argument, something like twenty years to think about it when I received an advance CD of 1234. My lifetime all-time fave album is still the original German CD of A Secret Wish all these years later, no contest. That said, I still enjoy 1234. It is not a bad album. "Wound in my Heart", though, was 1234's rotten apple, its Achilles Heel. Shame, too, as it follows "Ministry of Fear", the most ASW song on there.
svemir : You're not wrong mate. I love Propaganda and think their debut is a flawless masterpiece. This Betsi Miller singing sounds like any track from an eighties American 'feel-good' movie.Corny as hell! You can just picture the scene too with some 80's fashion clad actress with huge hair and perma-smile,cracks open another Coke and thinks of life as just great-fun.
I bought 1234 about 6 years ago because I found this track and 'Only One Word ' which I'd recorded off the radio on some cassettes from back in the day. I was glad to finally have the 2 songs on a decent format and was surprised by the standard of the album. This is such an uplifting song that reminds me of sunny days back in 1990.
To be really honest, I prefer the vocals of this lady over Claudia anyday. 1234 is by far my favourite Propaganda album. Too bad the critics viewed it otherwise.
It is on the album '1234' which I have on audio cassette, but when I record sound onto my PC it sounds dreadful - as soon as I can make a decent rendition I'll upload :)
This was the song that brought this group to my attention - it is a shame that it has come to be seen by only one tenth of the folks who have looked at "Duel" on youtube!!
Claudia Brucken is singing with Paul from OMD. They call themselves "OneTwo", and have released a five track EP called Item(which is excellent). Also I think a full length album is near completion.

Some versions he does, some he does not. The CD single I'm looking at right now quite clearly credits William Orbit as co-producer of the 7" edit (from which this video derives). He's also credited on the 1234 LP for the album version of the track. (These are both the UK Virgin Records releases. Others may vary.)
