  • @endlandmusic as opposed to the popular music of today? LOL

  • old propaganda is top class for this rubbish, cant compare. delete this noise

  • Never made it anywhere. A great song, obliterated, as always, by crap.

  • oks na oks

  • Pop history is so unjust sometimes, this high class track should have in the Top Ten everywhere back then !

  • @MrSKINFLICK this high class track should be in the top ten now !

  • sheer brilliance for the shuffled lineup Propaganda - beautiful voice Betsy Miller, they should have continued in this vein > but alas! great video too - love the faux silent movie theme! judging from the number of views this is very popular!!

    THANKS for posting

  • What a heavenly voice. Makes my heart joyful. Listening to this one makes me think that I am a supermodel walking on a catwalk while this song is playing.

  • so geil^^

  • a m a z i n g ....

  • 1990 year.

  • a beautiful song - a great evolution from A Secret Wish - and the remix is great

  • joy!!--takes me back 2my heady days as a 20something.....m

  • what a class track

  • Thats my mom singing!!!

  • @Beedaboy2 liar

  • @shchbb96 hahahaha he's not ! it actually is hahahahaha

  • @StanALICE10 HAHA U BELLEND U KNOW ITS ME ;) ;) hehe

  • @Beedaboy2 HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAAA YES CHARLES ! i am sooo getting her autograph when i come round ! hahahahaha <3

  • great song from a great lp, fantastic

  • Not the original lineup, but still a good song and video...

  • I know Claudia Brucken isn't here, still a wonderful track from Propaganda ...

  • Finally a Propaganda lineup that featured someone who could sing. Claudia and to a lesser extent Susanne couldn't sing for toffee, but they still made great songs.

With Claudia it was all about shouting, there was never any semblance of control or being in tune. Betsi Miller however is in a different league entirely and its a pity that Propaganda 2 didn't take off as both she and they deserved much, much more.

  • Bellissima!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lets face it Propaganda is Michael Mertens... whatever the singer... its his orchestrally inspired blend of techno percussive "sounds" that makes their unique timeless music sound so unique over the decades.

  • @derekcfoley u dont know what your saying u bellend , the singer ( my mom ) helped with everything , she wrote the biggest couple songs and coreographed some , PRICK.

  • @shchbb96 go back read and understand my post properly before you take things too personally & comment - doesn't do you any favours! Actually I love Betsi's voice on this track actually and this is one of my favourite songs of all time - Re coreographed (means dancing) -do you mean she helped on musical production/arrangement of the track? Which parts did Howard Jones write? Can you ask your mum - I can hear him do harmonies throughout and remember the co-writing credit on the 12" single's label

  • @shchbb96. Is your mother Betsi Miller? Then i say she´s got one of the most beautiful voices ever recorded on this troubled planet.

    Invited !

  • @shchbb96: Fortunately I still own the original 12 inch. Whenever i think this world has done me any harm i love to listen to it - and know how much trouble on earth might be which has not affected me.........

  • Betsi Miller recently opened a beauty center in Bath (UK)

  • What is it with all the moaning about which "Propaganda" was best. For heavens sake, I am a massive Claudia Brucken fan, and "Secret Wish" was one of the best albums ever, but just appreciate this album for what it is - fantastic. Betsi Miller has a great voice, and to me this album stands up to most of the best Propaganda with Claudia. Shame there doesn't seem to be a better quality video of this song around anywhere though. Or is there?

  • Thankyou Propaganda. loved the early 90's (voice is ageless)

  • This is a very good song that was released on the wrong time. If were released in the 80's, it would have been a hit.

  • The best song ever!

  • The best song recorded by Propaganda!

  • Ironic that ex-Simple Minds Derek Forbes and Brian McGee were in this Propaganda lineup.

Simple Minds went shit when they left, Progaganda turned shit when they joined.

  • Betsi Miller has the voice of an angel

  • The song is really great but diferent from the original band style.

  • This song is from the album 1234, from 1990. Michael Mertens is the only member remaining from the '80's cast. So, the 1234 cast was formed not before, but after the original cast from the eighties, with Claudia Brucken. The songs on the album 1234 are a complete break with the style of the original band too. So that is why this does not deserve the Propaganda label.

  • @euryuie: Susanne Freytag was not billed as a core member of Propaganda "2.0", but she appears prominently on "Vicious Circle" and "Ministry of Fear". Ralf Dörper's contributions, also not core, appear in songwriting credits on 1234.

  • @euryuie: Continuing this thought: I've had a lot of time to think about your argument, something like twenty years to think about it when I received an advance CD of 1234. My lifetime all-time fave album is still the original German CD of A Secret Wish all these years later, no contest. That said, I still enjoy 1234. It is not a bad album. "Wound in my Heart", though, was 1234's rotten apple, its Achilles Heel. Shame, too, as it follows "Ministry of Fear", the most ASW song on there.

  • Not the original line up, but still a fantastic song in the power ballad tradition.

Brings back memories, thanx for uploading this.

  • DWNU 107.5 (Manila) and 102.7 (what was the name of that station?).

Propaganda did well in Europe and in eclectic circles in North America.

This video was/still is priceless for 1990. 20 years ago. My on my!!

  • It was 102.7 DWSM (Metro Manila's Gentle Wind..which later became the cheap STAR FM of today).

Yup, reminds me of good old days of the 90's (my high school era).

  • Backing vocals are by Betsi Miller, Howard Jones and Tessa Niles (from CD sleeve notes for this track)

  • remember HS days in manila, love this song

  • i like it!

  • They are nothing without Claudia Brucken

  • This album albeit different, was just as good as a secret wish.

  • Great song

  • A weak song without Claudia singing...bummer...

  • Comment removed

  • I agree, this is a weak song, and without Claudia not worthy of the Propaganda label. Very unsoothing vid b.t.w.

  • Dont talk pish ! its a good song, you seem very bitter saying "and without Claudia not worthy of the Propaganda label"

    Grow up ffs !

  • a true wave 180 song.. love it..

  • loved it , love it!! great lyrics!

  • This song was cowritten with Howard Jones... synthpop star of the 80s and early 90s... (still recording & touring)

  • One of the better songs that came out from the 90s decade...honey in heaven mix is more 'sensual'...

  • Still a great song! Never was a hit in the Netherlands. But the best songs don't reach the charts!

  • @sjiepie: Simply so true what you say !

  • @sjiepie It was a pretty big hit in the US. It even made it onto a 90s compilation...

  • @shmuli9: Oh yeah - did it ? Thanks from Germany !

  • @sjiepie cause this song sucks

  • @discouniverse NOTHING from the 80's sucks

  • With apologies to all Propaganda purists; I love this song and this female vocalist.

  • Me as well!

  • Good song! I love it!

  • svemir : You're not wrong mate. I love Propaganda and think their debut is a flawless masterpiece. This Betsi Miller singing sounds like any track from an eighties American 'feel-good' movie.Corny as hell! You can just picture the scene too with some 80's fashion clad actress with huge hair and perma-smile,cracks open another Coke and thinks of life as just great-fun.

  • how can i upload this on my ipod?

  • Betsi Miller made Propaganda sound like Wilson Phillips.

  • Betsi Miller's singing is brilliant and natural, so is her performance. I love this song!

  • A lovely melody written or co-written by Howard Jones, but that wasn't the Propaganda I fell in love with and still miss to this day.

  • wish i could buy this on itunes

    have the Cassette

    sad

    love this song

  • love this song... listened to the 1234 cd just to check it out, but when i heard "wound in my heart" i had to buy it!!! i love this band!!!

  • I bought 1234 about 6 years ago because I found this track and 'Only One Word ' which I'd recorded off the radio on some cassettes from back in the day. I was glad to finally have the 2 songs on a decent format and was surprised by the standard of the album. This is such an uplifting song that reminds me of sunny days back in 1990.

  • one of my favorite groups. i have the 12" version on vinyl if anyone would care to hear.

  • To be really honest, I prefer the vocals of this lady over Claudia anyday. 1234 is by far my favourite Propaganda album. Too bad the critics viewed it otherwise.

  • esencja lat 80-tych :-)

  • 90-tych;-)

  • naprawdę? dzięki za informację!:-)

  • Betsi didn't have that signature Claudia voice, but it worked perfectly for this track.

  • WOW!!! this brings back happy memories of my youth...manila,philippines

  • It reminds me of when I lived in the UK

  • Anybody here please upload Propaganda's song "Wound In My Heart". I think its one of their best piece ever. Thanks.

  • I wish I could get hold of that myself. I think that "Wound in my heart is so beautiful

  • It is on the album '1234' which I have on audio cassette, but when I record sound onto my PC it sounds dreadful - as soon as I can make a decent rendition I'll upload :)

  • Album can be bought from the iTunes music store. That's where I got my Propaganda music from :) And it includes "Wound In My Heart" as well.

  • What a CHARMING video! AWESOME!!!

  • Fantastic crafted pop song. Real tallent here.

  • Take these words they come out wrong

They won't express this old emotional thing

If you could see inside my mind

You'd know the love and feel this passionate thing..

Oh God,one of my fave songs.

    I LOVE PROPAGANDA! :)

  • This was the song that brought this group to my attention - it is a shame that it has come to be seen by only one tenth of the folks who have looked at "Duel" on youtube!!

  • Lovely. Truly. Miss those times...

  • Great piece of perfect pop music!

  • Does anyone have the long-play version - there is no video, but the music is even better!

  • this is a proof that Propaganda were not a One hit wonder (besides Duel)

  • and besides P Machinery

  • always loved this band

  • Wow! The 80' are back! Great song from Propaganda! Thanks!

  • love this song...i just love the 80's! brings back sooo many good thoughts during my high school days

  • Perfect. Thanks!

  • Love. T´hanks!

  • Amazing!

  • Co written with Howard Jones - you can hear him on backing Vox too :)

  • forgot about this..fantastic!

  • Definately, without doubt THE greatest love song of all time

  • Było na pierwszym miejscu u Niedźwiedzkiego jak zaczynałem chodzić do liceum... Kocham ten kawałek

  • Know the band personally, love it :)

  • I feel nostalgic while listening to this song...Reminds me the good old days of the 80's!

  • amazing....

  • reminds me of long hot summer days

  • Excellent rhythm and very nice song! Pity the quality of the video is not good

  • Still one of my favourite albums. I love Dave Gilmour's guitar solo on wildlife

  • cool! 1990! Pubic memories :D

I also like "only one word" and "your wildlife".

  • ti's a cool to listen this song on more time

  • one of my favorite songs!!! thank u.

  • saw them with Erasure last night, and they were excellent

  • Saw Onetwo with Human League. Nice!

  • Sounds like Madonna

  • I have missed Propaganda since they departed:(

Does anybody know what the original member`s of the band are doing ´nowadays?

  • Claudia Brucken is singing with Paul from OMD. They call themselves "OneTwo", and have released a five track EP called Item(which is excellent). Also I think a full length album is near completion.

  • They were at German TV last night in their original line-up performing Dr. Mabuse.

  • The name of the singer of this song: Betsi Miller.

Right, she is obvioulsy NOT Claudia Brücken. But Betsi Miller sang brilliantly as well, and better than Suzanne Freytag who was not more than a speaker! So be fair.

This song is one of my favourite songs of all times.

  • This album had to Howard Jones, David Gilmour, Pino Palladino...Allways Propaganda had fine guest stars

  • ...nnnnniiiiiiiiicccccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

  • thanks! my fav song of all time...

  • Trivia: Howard Jones co-wrote this track and can be heard providing backing vocals.

  • Trivia: William Orbit co-produced this track.

  • Actually he did not see below

    Tracklisting:

A Heaven Give Me Words Mixed by - Felix Kendal Producer - Chris Hughes , Ian Stanley , Ross Cullum

  • Some versions he does, some he does not. The CD single I'm looking at right now quite clearly credits William Orbit as co-producer of the 7" edit (from which this video derives). He's also credited on the 1234 LP for the album version of the track. (These are both the UK Virgin Records releases. Others may vary.)

  • Sorry but Engineer [Some Post Production] - William Orbit

Propaganda - Heaven Give Me Words

    Label:Virgin, Virgin

    Catalog#:113 100, VS1245

    Format:Vinyl, 7", Single

    Written-By - Mertens*

A Heaven Give Me Words (4:16) Co-producer - Ross Cullum Engineer [Some Post Production] - William Orbit Mixed By - Felix Kendall Producer - Chris Hughes , Ian Stanley Recorded By - Ross Cullum Written By - Jones Written-By - Stanley*

  • Well, yes. Those are the credits for the 7" vinyl you listed. Like I said, on the CD single is lists Orbit as "co-producer". In fact, one of the 12-inches that has the 7" remix on it actually lists Orbit as just "producer". The CD and vinyl version of 1234 both list Orbit as "co-producer" of the track. Either the 7" is wrong, or the 12-inch, CD single and various formats of the album are all wrong. I'm going to go with safety in numbers.

  • Still gorgeous, both the song and video.

  • One of the loveliest songs I have ever heard. GREAT job!

  • Not quite the same without Claudia and Suzanne, nice song though...
