  • The music is good...but the singer just seems so devoid of emotion =/

  • Comment removed

  • I love this cover

  • Sally's song got a better treatment

  • I like the video because I love the attitude Tyson shows with just the way he sings it. Even if it's not his best singing. It kind of makes me laugh fondly.

  • holy shit this is fucking TERRIBLE

  • It does suck though.... Pretty badly...

  • I think it's funny that people are like this sucks or it sounds nothing like or it ruins the emotion. Do they realize that it's a COVER?

  • This sounds like an E book lol but I still like it alot.. :)

  • I have never raged over a song, but seriously... Fucking seriously?

  • good song bad band no affence

  • Nah not very good the singer is bad and sounds not a pinch like jack. Even though tiger army didint sound like Oogie he at least sounded good

  • AAR killed the song just like Tiger Army killed oogie's song

  • >_> This seems to be a war zone right now.. but still great video! (&})

  • I like this version more than the original good job AAR

  • I don't get why you guys would knock it. I'm a nineties kid too, and I quite particularly enjoyed this cover!

  • I love the song, but not a good choice of artist

  • Terrible choice in artist to cover this song! Its one of the most important songs of the movie. Jack has a manly voice not some whiney weiner voice. Ugh so disgusted!

  • I love this Cover because it adds to the fact that Jack is bored with halloween, and most of the singing sounds like theres no emotion, like the singer is too bored to keep singing properly. but to me it sounds like How jack should be feeling, as bored as he is with scaring people

"With the wave of my hand and a well placed moan."

"And I, JACK the *Yawn* Pumpkin king. *Yawn*"

  • happy halloween

  • I could barely watch the video because the background singers made me laugh hysterically at 0:50

I don't know why I found that funny, but... yeah. X)

  • this footage is from the remastered version look at zero's nose if you doubt me

  • i watched this since i was born... but this cover is shit. great video though, its not your fault that the song sucks.

  • @TheOrangeLemon I have just been reading all the comments on this video, and actually they all piss me off! I'm a kid you'd classify me as "emo" but i have loved these films since i was born, it annoys me because you sterotype people, not all emo's actually attempt suicide, we like rock/metal songs and we wear skinny jeans. I will allways love NBC. Don't try and make an opinion on people you don't know anything about. thanks.

  • My children will know the wonders of ALL Tim Burton's movies

  • I loved this as a kid & I still do today...

  • i love being a 90s kid xD

  • i wasn't even a big fan of the movie til recently, i must admit. and as much as i love AAR, nothing can do justice to the original track by Danny Elfman. it's just too lovely to do a cover of :/ just my opinion :P

  • I HATE WHAT AAR DID TO THIS SONG FUCK YOU HIGH PITCHED ASSHOLE...god Vid though

  • yu suk

  • I used to have the biggest crush on jack. (Still kinda do. X3 How can you not?)

  • I love TNBC. I always have. I've been watching it since i was two or three. I'm now 17, and i still get happy when I see this movie on TV. This movie, is and always will be a time-less classic. May "The Nightmare Before Christmas" live on for generations to come!!! Oh i love this and the original song. Both, to me, are beautifully made. :)

  • This is my favorite movie by tim burton EVER

  • ive been watching this for foreva.. sum ppl call me emo summ call me a prep but ppl should just shut theyre traps u wouldnt no wat emo was if it slapped u in the face so stop puttin ppl into categories and get on w/ ur lives!! I LOVE this cd so ppl stop dissin it!! : /

  • @GraciRules25 agreed!!! :/

  • @GraciRules25 agreed!!! :/ though everyone just calls me emo... :/

  • @mazeylizz Yeah well ppl r stupid : ) hah

  • if you listen close enough, you can hear emo/scene/hardcore kids crying to this..

  • Where I can download this ?

  • I'm proud to say I'm not a poser. I also own the VHS version of this and it was the first movie I ever saw in my life (mom took me to it when I was 2 years old and I didn't cry once haha).

  • beautiful transition from original music to all american rejects x) awesome video idea!

  • just horrible

  • alright, i was born 2 years after this movie, but from the first time ive seen it ive been addicted, i have a ton of jack things, and im not the poser, i could sing every song and say every line, this movie is amazing, i love the original and nothing can beat it, but the revisited tracks are good too, i love all the versions of them, this movie is just great, tim burton i have to say is a genius, i love his work and all his movies but by far this one is my absolute faveorite

  • @MickeyTK421 First Off, I Want To Say Good Job On The Videos, Really Well Synced. Then I Must Disagree, The New Generations Never "Screwed Up" This Movie's Reputation, Teenagers Now Like This Movie Not Only Because It Represents Every Gothic Element, But Because Of The Fact It's A Classic, And A Very Well Made Film. As For Band's Such As All-American Rejects Or Rise Against, They Got A Deal To Re-Make Songs For The Album “Nightmare Re-Visited”. We Aren't Posing, We're Keeping The Legend Alive.

  • I am a hardcore fan of TNBC, i was born the same year this movie came out so i grew up pretty much watching this all the time, i still have the VHS in the original case, and still love the movie, i am more specifically a Jack Skellington nerd, and love anything to do with him or the movie in general, i say kudos to the Nightmare Revisited album, and every band that contributed to it, and, to get a little off point, I'm still waiting on a sequel, Lol

  • his voice is fukking annoying on this. original is way better

  • I'll be honest, I didn't hear of this movie 'til like 2 years ago & I only heard it because my friend had loved it ever since she was a little girl but the moment I saw it I fell in love, especially with this song & This is Halloween, it's just amazing & I love me some Nightmare Before Christmas! :)

  • I think this would work alot better with a more upbeat song, because this song is supposed to be a slower, emotional song. Not a song with fast beats and high screamish parts. I think thats why it failed so badly.

  • Ewwwwwww.........

  • AAR stick to your normal music this sucks -.-

  • AHH HIS FUCKING VOICE IS SO WHINEY!!

  • i saw it in theaters to when it came out, been a big fan of the movie ever since, one of my favorite movies.

  • i Was born in 1997 but as long as i can remember i've loved this movie it was interesting because it was not only my first musical but also claymation

  • you're just such a pro at this!!!! and for my favorite movie and songs!!!!!, *faint* lmao not

  • 7 people aren't masters of fright

  • eh...it could be worse, could have been better, but over not that bad :p

  • I would just like to point out that not all people who love this movie are"emo", or "gothic".

I am 16, and it is my favorite movie of all time, i have always loved this movie. This movie is the movie that got me to liking musicals. It will always be #1 in my movie selection.

  • i agree the movie was absolutely my favorite when i was growing up but this band messed the song up eveyone talks crap about it like they actually know anything about it but in reality they've probally never seen it@TheOrangeLemon@

  • 5 people have had a bad Halloween experience

  • The thing about this is that, many bands cover TNBC just because the movie became a "cult classic" and is considered "hardcore" to like.

I have loved the movie since I was a kid in 1993 when it came out, and if i had a nickel for every poser I saw wearing a jack shirt I'd be rich. No disrespect to the band, as they may have liked the film, but I can see why so many people slam these songs.

  • @TheOrangeLemon ya i agree, when i was a kid i seen it in theaters and loved it since, i still got the old black disney cased VHS of it. i never sported the clothing though, i think the problem is emos got a hold of it and really screwed up its reputation.

i only liked 2 songs from revisted, korn and mansons versions. other than those i did the rest just for sport.

  • @MickeyTK421 HaHa what if those emos love the movie 2

  • @MickeyTK421 Yeah man i am right there with you, but you know how things go. The cool, underground things get sold into corporate hands and they just make what was deeply loved by original fans and artistic viewers into the conformity that you see with these emo/poser losers who wear all the shirts and talk about how they love it, yet cant even remember who plays what char or sings what songs. Just sad man to see Cult Classics being thrown into Conformity and mainstream

  • @MickeyTK421 Nick 13 from Tiger Army is a massive NBC fan.

  • @TheOrangeLemon What about the kids that arent posing? Have you seen any kid that doesnt pose or is it just that everyones a poser in your eyes? I will be honest, I hate posers but im 16 and I have owned a videotape of this since I was born. Its just that I find this a little offensive and Im not trying to be mean or anything.

Don't stereotype people.

  • its not stereotyping its pointing out a fact. im sure there are lots of young people that enjoy this movie, people classified as "emo" that enjoy this film for their own reasons. the fact is that the movie, overall, is looked upon differently, because of kids with (supposed) emotional issues. yes the company is making money because they took their sample from a statistic. i simply dont like seeing something from my childhood matched up with make-up, tight jeans and (failed) suicide attempts.

  • @MickeyTK421 i was born in 1996 and i first saw it in daycare and i enjoyed it but was really scared. years latter i saw it again and still enjoy it and have some clothing and stuff. but my point is if it wasnt for my friends and the nostalgia critic i may have never watched it again so main straeming and emos and stuff arnt that bad to a movies rep all the time

  • @MickeyTK421 Bit of an old thing, but I actually agree with you guys...I was born in '95 and I have been watching this movie forever...hell at the time I'm writing this I'm watching it...on VHS, I'm glad to own my copy...and yea, one of my retarded friends has called me "emo" for liking this movie >.< Although overall I agree with your opinions...I wish I would have been lucky enough to see this in theaters...but that's all I have to say. TL;DR: I love this movie and agree with ya.

  • @MickeyTK421 Lol.. but this was created by someone with emotional issues.

  • @MickeyTK421 actually that is more goth i think, and secondly, so what its making Tim Burton money i'm not saying that i like how they don't like the movie for what it is but don't rip on them, because it's bullshit like this that makes them try to commit suicide. also i absolutely love this movie, and im not a poser in fact i don't own any merchandise i support this movie for the music by the amazing Danny Elfman and the story.

p.s. this movie is based off of a poem that tim wrote

  • @XDXDchakroXDXD i feel much better after reading this and i own nothing from this movie as well my sis and i have been watching this movie since i was 5 and she was 8.. i turned out so called "emo" she turned out a prep so all the people who are sayin shit about "emos" get over yourselves

  • @MickeyTK421 i agree with you but most people do have some emotional problems, the possers just act like their are serious when the aren't really, and the the whole everyone wearing those exact same clothes with no new style added to it that's origanal does make them possers... and for any one else feeling like posting to this comment saying that you are emo, are your not a posser give it a break your making all the kids that are similar look bad

  • @joeycox73180 thank you so much i have been trying to get this point across to my friends (major posers) i love you now! <3 lol

  • @MickeyTK421 I pity you, because you let yourself be a slave to someone else's actions who has nothing to do with you. individuality doesn't always mean avoiding a stereotype, it's about enjoying what you like and expanding upon what makes you who you are, and if you let the fact that some emo kids wear a certain shirt get between you and that, you're just as much a poser as they are. weak man... really weak.

  • @fram4153 what?

  • @fram4153 nice point fram4153 - anti-conformists' behaviour & decision making are equally as guided by what others are doing as sheep-like conformists are. what seems the best way to live is to be a 'non' conformist e.g. if you like/enjoy/appreciate something then do it and if you don't, then don't. like wearing something that is currently fashionable only if you actually like it + feel good in it, regardless. Then this is a true expression of who you are, & as you say, creates individuality.

  • @MickeyTK421 i'm sorry, i dont think that someone at my age (im 16) that enjoy this movie HAVE to be considered emo. i disovered this movie thanks to a game called kingdom hearts, then i bought the DVD to check it out and i loved it and enjoyed all the songs, the story and everything of course you saw in the cinemas and everything but we werent born back then, we only discovered it now... im not emo or a poser, im just a regular teenager that enjoy TNBC....

  • @MickeyTK421 um what the hell are you talking about?

  • @dudesik642 yeah I'm 17 and it pisses me off when people sterotype. Like I've loved Tim Burton's films for years and sine I was born in 1993 i didn't get to see this film until i was a bit older. I actually only got to find a DVD of this film a couple of years ago because whenever I'd go into HMV it was always sold out.

  • @TheOrangeLemon The covers have actually been done for TNBC 3D release.... I'm the same as you... Not 93 cuz I wasn't allowed to watch it (bizarrely) but I came across it in 96 and loved it ever since! :o)

  • @fliffy666 I actually don't support the 3-D release. I think it's nothing but a money grab and I think 3-D screens are more of a gimmick than anything. I'm sure some people love 3D and I respect that, but it's not for me.

  • @TheOrangeLemon Agreed

  • @TheOrangeLemon This band don't disrespect this classic animation, They just make they versions to the album " Nightmare Revisited". This bands that make a cover of the song's TNBC are selected by Tim Burton himself and the Disney to make new versions to this classic movie. Soo, they ain't posers, they ain't make covers to be rich, they just participte of this album.

P.S.: I wanna to let it clear, i love this animation and a ain't like of all the new versions. I didn't mean to disrespect anyone.

  • @TheOrangeLemon Completely agreed. I had this movie as a kid and I adored it. I was always a fan of stop-motion films from that point on, and Tim Burton is actually a major influence in my own artwork. (As well as Jhonen Vasquez and Steven Spielberg.) I don't see why kids think slapping Jack's face on miscellaneous accessories and clothing is "cool." It's an excellent film, but I bet many of these kids probably never even watched it. If they did, I doubt they respect it, or the work put into it.

  • @TheOrangeLemon You're an idiot. Anyone who isn't you who likes something is a "poser"? That's dumb. That's you showing how immature you are.

    In conclusion, go fuck yourself.

  • @TheOrangeLemon so...let me get this straight...the fact that i like the movie...and the fact that i'm not you...makes me a poser? O_o

  • I don't like his voice .-.

  • Gives me chills!

  • Great sync! I think this song was a great remake of a classic. Sure, nothing will be as great as the original, but this song has some great qualities.

Come on people! Stop acting like grumpy old men/women who only talk about how great the past was. Enjoy this song for what it is! It's not the original, it's a reinterpretation.

  • You've got to be fucking me.

  • thanx homie awesome shit

  • Awesome job

  • I have no idea how or why, but I had the bellife in my head that Panic at the Disco had redone this song. ??? No matter, it's still good none the less.

  • @manganimelvr Hmm...Panic did one version of "This is Halloween".

  • I think they completely missed the concept of the song. It's pretty bad. Especially since the singer's voice doesn't fit Jack or the song itself... at all. I absolutely hate to use the word gay because it's for bigots and stupid people, but I just can't think of a better word. It's gay. Plain and simple.

  • omg this version SUCKS! There's no pathos, no feeling in it! I think AAR rocks and have great skills. Their songs are great, but this cover it's simply horrible, I'm sorry!

  • my face lit up at this ♥

  • TERRIBLE D:

  • i like this song:)

  • I like it as it's own song, but when you compare it to the original there's no competition at all. The original is supposed to sad, but I don't really get that feeling with this. Still an amazing song, whoever sings it!

  • well I think that AAR could do a song in the movie, namely the last one, well, but I don't think that they really captured the essence of this song, mainly because of the harmony. I think it should only be a solo, and I just can't think of AAR doing a depressing/depressed song all that well.

  • it's funny,if they were ever to release the whole revisited album as part of the movie with the songs added on like this,Jacks singing voice would change ALOT.

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome job doing these Mickey seem them all and I love them :D Plus AAR did a good job in my view

  • I think no one else did "Jack's Lament" other than the AAR. So all those ppls who are saying they shouldn't have done this song, 1. THEY ALREADY DID 2. They were probaly the only band that did this song

  • @IJFan123 im not particularly a fan of this band but i think they did a pretty good job in my opinion. im think of remaking these in 1080p in the future, id like the to post the whole movie with the soundtrack.

  • @MickeyTK421 i gotta love tnbc because it was the first movie i ever saw and i became entranced by this song especially because i live for halloween but everyonce in a while i ire of it i have always been in love with the bag of bones addressed as jack skellington

  • @IJFan123 Should have been Muse...

  • @IJFan123 i kinda like it.

  • Great job with the sync of the songs.

  • This is fantastic. =D I love them for this song. He has plays pathos into the song so subtly.

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa funny ! ! ! cool 2 ! ! ! :)

  • Why are you guys dissin' AAR's singer's voice? His voice is perfect for this! (: I love the Nightmare Before Christmas! Favorite movie!!

  • you can get this at tubemusicdownload com - it's free. your welcome.

  • They really didn't do this song right, I'm sorry. That's just my opinion, his voice is just too bland for the mood of this song.

  • they could have done better it sounds like they are just cashing a pay check, the singing is so empty and emotionless.

  • NoNoNo, this just won't do its much to gay try something fresher something better!

  • lol

  • lol so true

  • AWESOME

  • the dude doenst have the voice for this song...

  • the syncing is superb!!! but i dont think the all american rejects are good for this song tho.

  • I'm gonna have to learn syncing from you. What is your secret? I have to really try to get things to be reasonably believable, Ex: watch?v=VNVYk-c1v9w but this! This is easily within the range of professional!

I gotta know! Then again, maybe it's just because you're putting stuff together that's somewhat meant to be.

  • That suprisely sync together really well.

  • lol it didnt before i manipulated the film

  • @MickeyTK421 well u did pretty fuckin good job at the sync job!!

  • this song is kinda emo,but I like it! :D
