  • some ground potitions in this video are classified as downwind pumice areas, and have longer term effects and side effects, in the future although stocks of hay and grasses for sheep and horses are a countermeasure, they do not always arrive, or livestock introduced to safer environmental areas....

  • какой трек играет? (who track play in video?)

  • Están bien bonitos los paisajes y me encanto la musica.

  • watch me name something is a similar way to the way they named this volcano

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Because of this volcano, I got to spend 10 more days with a friend, who turned out to be the one.

We're getting married next month :)

  • Liked dhizs video

  • My friends were in Iceland on a school trip, staying very close by, at the time of this volcano's eruption. I was worried like hell at first, but I got in contact with one of them who told me everything was okay and that they had been evacuated. The local newspaper did an article on it, and when I went on the website to read it I was shocked to find adults commenting on the article and being completely insensitive to the situation, attacking the kids for being 'melodramatic'. Crazy world, huh...

  • Eyjafjallajökull MESMO!!!!!!!!!

  • one does not simply fly into europe

  • Skyrim HD texture pack already?

  • Chuck Norris did a barbecue.

  • I was stuckin Spain for an extra few days because of this volcano. Thanks Eyjafjallajokull!!

  • to tupolew?

  • When I traveled to Iceland in the end of August, I could not believe how beautiful it is there. And that landscape would not have been possible without the volcanic activity that happens every day. We fear that threat because all we see is death from that, but we have to look past that because from the death, comes life. I mean I got a chance to stand in the middle of two tectonic plates that separate Europe and North America that go through Iceland. That just shows you how cool nature can be!

  • this video is beautiful

  • at 35 sec the music goes so perfect with the video! Niceeee!

  • Almost as beautiful as asfkjhewjasfuowahda

  • Probably the coolest timelapse I've ever seen. I like when the moving camera. Thumbs up!

  • Magnificent

  • good job!

  • Not a clue what is being said, and I've no intention to find out. The sounds being sung are too beautiful to be spoiled by unworthy words.

Time to take up my broadsword and run naked through the mountains and storms!

  • how do you pronounce the word "Eyjafjallajokull" ? lol

  • @rotenburk eye-yaf-yalla-yo-kull

  • Tsunami, Earthquakes, Volcanos, Floods, Hurricanes, they tell you its always someones fault, people die, made to suffer, that its sad. But its not, we make homes on a living breathing creature, Its greater and more powerful than we will ever be. It gives us life and it has the power to take it, we can use its resources and burn its trees but really we're just along for the ride, barely scratching the surface, It is such a beautiful thing and we are not humble enough to realise.

  • @AquaLoki very true

  • @AquaLoki and unfortunately for the ones who are trying to save this place, enough of something can kill anything, and we, collectively are killing this planet :( if only enough people could realise that.

  • @AquaLoki yeah its beautiful how thousands of people die and lose their families and everythihng they own everytime something like this happens.

  • @josalazar18

He wasn't calling the tragic outcomes of events beautiful, he was calling nature beautiful.

He was pointing out that humans don't run the universe nor this planet, we simply come along for the ride whilst the earth is habitable enough to support our life, at any day all life could disappear due to circumstances out of our hands.

  • @josalazar18 well the solution is obvious then isn't it people should have less things and choose better locations to live at/ not have so many people living so close together. These are man made mistakes not nature. Nature is what it is and it was working on this planet far before we got here.

  • @AquaLoki Spot on :) Lovely way to put in. I hope one day we all have a better understanding of our home.

  • @AquaLoki and even in the way it chooses to destroy us, it does so with such elegance.

  • AMAZING!!

  • Gives me chilles everytime, and the music only doubles that feeling

  • Very beautiful, even if destructive.

Imagine trying to tell someone what ur watching...

"Oh I'm watching Eyjaf...Eyjaf...jalla....jö...Eyjafjallajökull! Erupt." Yeah I totally couldn't say that right if I were to be tossed in it for incorrect pronunciation.

  • Is all music in Iceland this amazing!

  • Because of this volcano, I got to spend 7 more days with the love of my life, my best friend.

This video reminds me of all the good memories we got because of it.

    Happiness.

  • @ivinsito God Bless this Volcano and Amuuurica. Aaaaamen!

  • Astounding, Sean -- great work here. When I see this, it reinforces my resolution to get to Iceland one of these years.

  • incredible...

  • Fucking LOVE it since the day I first saw it on Vimeo...

  • So amazing! just jizzed in my pants

  • Please everybody remember that Sean Stiegemeier made this. His work is wonderful.

  • I now want to go to Iceland more than ever :'D It's like a lost world that time is letting us view just one last time.

  • Fuck the air companies, right! And all the machines! Just leave the ones that let us see this.

  • I don't know how many times I've seen this video, and it just blows my mind every time. It's Iceland in a nutshell, and using an Icelandic song just tops it all.

  • The Eyjaklakneonekdjülpekjf volcano is so wonderful.

  • Looking at this again (and again, and again...) it makes me laugh how the whole world was shocked and almost angry at Eyjafjallajokull simply for erupting, EXCEPT the Icelanders. Most people probably don't realise that volcanoes are nothing new there!

  • What kind of tripod system did you use to get the horizontal movement?

  • @BoutenkoFilms not 100% but i'm almost positive it's just a time laps with a dollie as well.

  • Beautiful... Thank you

  • this is absolutely amazing to see, with such good colors too! And Jonsi, of course xD

  • beautiful and frightening

  • I think this is the first video I've ever found on youtube with 0 thumbs down. *knocks on wood*

  • When I Would Listen To This Music Driving In My Car, I Would Wine Down Windows, Feeling The Wind Breeze By Me..... Emotionally I Would Feel "Infinite" Wishing That I Could Fly Away.

  • I can almost feel the wind coming ut of my computer's screen, touching my hair gently.

  • The word "Awesome" is so over used...

After watching this on HD, I truly was In Awe.

    Epically Beautiful :o

    imagine being a farmer there

  • @SatounoKumo I did, i'd probably be shooting the crap out of that airplane with a 12 gauge too

  • Incredible!

  • Amazing video. Would love to know the name of the song.

  • @KcKlax

it's called Kolniður by Jónsi, from Sigurrós. The part from this video doesn't start right away but it's an amazing song anyway :)

  • uuu epicmostbeautiful :]

  • Great work in making this video! It's amazing!

  • Fuck the air companies! Let the nature just do its beautiful job.

  • @Scriptofmagic Yeahh fuck the airline companies... everyone should respect the nature...

  • Awesome visuals!

  • sjorsenzo, it would be nice of you to give the link to the original on vimeo.

  • @theturbocow Your right, done!

  • What grade are you in?!

  • they need to make a documentary of this volcano and it's eruption which is still happening and they should use this vid as it's trailer prior to it's release date in theaters or on the discovery channel

  • incredible isn't the word.......

  • This is absolutely amazing.

  • what's with the airplane??

  • @mario1127 That was one that didn't heed the warning about flying through volcanic ash (during the 1958 eruption, that is!)

  • Extremely fucking awesome, damn nearly blew my mind...

Music sounds more like Sigur Rós Though...

  • @OlafurArons It is. "Jónsi" is a singer in that band.

  • @TraustiGeir makes sense...wouldn't expect the other famous icelandic "jónsi" to sound like this :P

  • @OlafurArons That's because Jonsi is the vocalist of Sigur Ros. This is one of the songs off of his solo album.

  • @OlafurArons Oops, didn't realize someone had already replied to you. Disregard that, sorry.

  • Nicely done!

  • mjög mjög flott

  • Great ending. :)

  • Really good video. Horrible music.

  • Fantastic... Beautiful.. Great job.. Ekkert smá flott...

  • That's so beautiful. Thank you.

  • Seriously cool! Great job!
