What bothers me is that we had a clear case here of men who were unjustyly and incorrectly labeled as criminals and rapists. Thankfully they had an airtight case to help them out, plus the help of well paid lawyers.

Are we all so naive to believe this is a "1%" type situation? I'm of the opinion this happens more than we'll know but most people don't have the resources to stand up to the charges.

@gunplay223 I'm trying to explain the difference between civil and criminal proceedings. If her intention was to get money from them, she would have filed civil charges against the three boys. In civil court, if you're found liable, you pay the said damages and be done with it (in most cases).

In criminal court, when found guilty, you're sentenced in accordance with the crimes you committed. Usually jail time and/or fines.

@jey5636 True, but people often file the criminal charges first, THEN go after civil charges because it is easier to get a civil settlement/decision when you already have a criminal conviction to back you up. NO DOUBT she would have gone after money. She's a HOOKER! That's what they do. But I think a lot of it was personal.
