@vtwin1 Yep. In fact if I recall, these amps weren't his. He didn't fly in his gear for just one gig, so they lended him a Marshall, and I think a Fender Vibroverb... Tone in his hands. In fact since they were stock, he blew up the Vibroverb later that night. Philip picks so hard he can kill a tube rectifier in less than an hour ;)

Is Phil playing out of a fender hrd amp? If i closed my eyes i thought he'd be using his super reverb. At 4:13 you can definately see one. If hes not running it in stereo with a super reverb, just goes to prove that tone really is in the hands as he sounds the same as he usually does... phenominal :)

i really like his feel and tone and his solos kick ass, but his music is just boring rock. he should just do blues

Couldn't agree with you more Zack, but I have to say your tone on your Super Reverb is right up there too with some of the best Strat tone ever. Your Sayce cover is great, as is JVStratocasters above.
