  • I loved Dorothy Collins as a little boy watching Hit Parade on TV with my parents. I love every note I've ever heard her sing. And her Sally Durant in Follies was not just definitive, but an emotional experience so deep that I still feel the pain of it. That she didn't win the Tony for Follies is a crime, but in the end what matters is that she gaev us this amazing performance. Bless you, and bless Dorothy Collins.

  • I agree. We had the chance to see Follies on broadway-3 different times. Her performance as Sally Plummer was magic. It was the best performance by a actress,i think, ever. She should have won the tony award. We saw her in The Sound of music in summer stock and right before she retired in Ballroom.I have about seventy of The Your Hit Parade shows,We watch them a lot. She did it all-singer,actress,comedienne-all of it.She could sing Jazz, she started out on radio with Raymond Scott.

  • This is really wonderful. I actually saw her play Desiree Armfeldt opposite Ron Holgate in Paramus. Do you have any other recordings of hers from this period (I'm guessing mid to late 70's)? It would be great if you could post them.
