  • bala shark huh but i like iridescent shark or paroon shark

  • I will never own another Bala Shark! They get so aggressive when they get huge. Mine chased EVERY fish around the tank non-stop when he got to be 10 inches long. He thought the 120 gallon should be all his. I'm very surprised at some of the fish you have mixed together too! A very strange combination with the large oscar in there. I fear for your Discus who are as gentle & delicate as they come with the Oscar and big Bala. Nice tank though. :) Are all of the fish still together 3 years later?

  • man i will see u mine he 14 inches

  • @mackenzie7jada i ment sell

  • What kind of puffer was that and is it solely a freshwater fish or does it develop in a brackish or salt water?

  • Mines bigger and not as fat

  • what did you feed your bala sharks?? im trying to get a community tank with bigger fish going and i want a schooling fish. but i need them to get at least a foot long. lol. please fill me in with your secret diet!!

  • 4 1 yr old hell yeah

  • yea man his BIG sweet hope i get mine 2 that size!!

  • What do you feed your fish?

  • That's cool that you have a discus in there.

  • amazing mix of fish, im surprised the gourami's are doing so well with the cichlids

  • oh my god that thing is on steroids !

  • 12 inches in 1 year...really!?

  • How have you got oscar's and cichlid's in with bala's and gourami? I always wanted to mix but my local pet shop said its best not to :/

  • Pet shops more then often have no clue. Its best to ask people with lots of experience on the net in forums. The pet shot will tell you "you cant put that fish with this one" but there's many stories where people have gotten them to get along under certain circumstances. You just gotta gather the proper conditions and information.

  • What is the size of your Aquarium (in inces).?

  • i love bala and red talid shrks thumbs up if u do 2

  • i gotta bala shark. He is getting HUGE!!! hehe i got him when he was just a child

  • What a beast, I had one about 7 inch long and it jumped out of my tank and died through night.

  • Nice tank, and an amazingly large Bala! Congrats! Come take a look at my tank. I have a community tank with several fish (that the EXPERTS preach should not be together) as well. Every fish is different, as are the tanks they live in... same goes with the caretakers of them too. What CAN'T be done, actually often CAN be done. Again congrats, and enjoy your tank. Thanks for sharing it via the video, so others can enjoy it as well! Come see mine, friend, sub, or leave a post if you like.

  • Just so people know. I have 2 X1200ltr per hour external filters & the 2X internal 800 ltr per hour filters with uv,s which i use as powers heads mostly.

  • @rdseng7 Nice tank set up man! i just got 2 bala sharks and an oscar in a 55 gallon. glad to know they can coexist

  • @rdseng7 Hey man i had two of these in my tank and they both stayed around 6 inches long.. nothing big eh. was cleaning the tank one day and one decided to jump :( totally committed suicide on me.. not even a month later the second shark sprouted to over 9 inches and is still growing.... i cannot wait to establish a larger tank and watch this bad boy grow until its end

  • @StevRez There is only 3 bala sharks in there & its a 630ltr 140 uk gallons 166 us gallons tank?

  • @rdseng7 Can you make a new video of your Bala shark/tank please i wanna see them and how big they are now :D like 30 cm i guess?

  • Whats wrong with having a discuss in there? They all seemed fine to me?

  • SCHRECKLICH !!!!!!!!!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Osakoi! Ichico k loi mi toka si ot!

  • nice. my bala is more than 5 years old and is about 7". has been living happily with 3 discus for over 1.5 years, no problems. 90 gallons.

  • balla sharks are ugly.

  • well, it's huge, but even petsmart recognizes that they get 14"

  • what is the deal about the discus fish

  • Wow! I can't beleive so many people put so much effort into arguing abouth if there should be a discus in the tank. Maybe this aquarium isn't 'to the book' but the fish are thriving. Congrats to the tank keeper for be able to keep such a large community of fish alive for so long. Could any of you 'nay sayers' do it?

  • what idiot put a discus in there? and piss poor filtration. cruel so very cruel

  • I can't believe he was only 1 year old at that time! Do you mean you'd had him for one year? The tank size looks ok, not so over crowded, but if that's the only filter in there it's most definitely far too small. As long as you realise that you've got fish in there that will all grow really big, and overcrowding will be an issue.....but you'll know that by now!

  • how are your discus even alive in there ? and i wouldnt say it was over crowded cos they all look ok with what there doing its just you have them discus in the same tank carnt see how they are even alive haha

  • its not a world record and it doesnt even look full grown.

  • you people need to stfu, quick trying to give this guy advice, if hes doing such a bad job at taking care of this fish then how did it manage to live so long and become so big and healthy? a lot of you just try to find the smallest flaws and bitch about them

  • @METALownsRAP1 Live so long? He said it's one year old in the description. Probably overfeeds the tank as much as he overstocks it.

  • @METALownsRAP1 no you MORON he has a discus in there and thats wrong so be quiet and learn about fish before opening your mouth

  • @METALownsRAP1 lol good one !

  • You people get a grip. Far to crowded lol.. Shouldnt have to deal with that stress. Yeh lets just give them welfare checks while we are at it. THEY are fish! Go crash your prius. And eat some bacon. Do your complaining about all the over crowded schools and prison's. And let them keep the fish tank any way they want it. You people crack me up. Oh the lobsters in the supermarket are to crowded next... But they sure taste good! And what about all them chicken nuggets in that box. Oh so crowded.

  • @TheWhiteNoyz in other words you cant afford it and are waiting for your welfare check as well?

  • @aceboogs2112 Sorry i refuse to get in a battle of wits with you. Your totally un-armed.

  • @TheWhiteNoyz lolol i agree 100%

  • Upgrade your tank, dude. Then keep the Discus in that set up, and move the rest out into the new tank. Overcrowding isn't nice.

  • theres way too many big fishes in tht liil shiit hole

  • Discus & Oscars your a moron

  • bala sharks are peaceful.u can pretty much put any fish with it.this tank is not crowded at all

  • Posts like this should be used in court against people like you to stop you keeping pets. Congratulations on getting so many possitive votes for being so cruel or maybe just stupid, You must be proud.

  • @alb Nothing wrong here fish all seem to be happy coming up to his hand is a good sign he is taken well care of the animals and the gut shows well fed not over crowded and no fighting between the other fish in the tank all in all 5 star tank wtf do you want sea world? i have a much larger set up and my balas are depressed and have been since they were fry.... now 2 years old, they dont up to me like the rest of my fish do but this guy seems to love his owner tank could be larger but not to small

  • @fawkUtube they dont come up to me*

  • @albionsteve let me put it to you another way if that bala wasnt happy he wouldn't stay in the tank

  • dayum

  • Wow, that's huuuge!

  • that shark isnt a world record. its comon for balas to reach 12 inches in an appropriately sized tank

  • Real nice fish, but for a fish of that size, and the amount you have of them, I'm afraid that tank is much too small. Bala Sharks can swim fast, and need much more space than that to thrive. Nice fish though.

  • @TownTheRapist If that's 30 gallons then my 55 gallon must be like, ten. :\

  • Discus???????!!!! OMG thats so sad, do you like to hurt fish??? then you should'nt have an aquarium at alll.

  • u shouldnt havethe oscar in there too

  • theres these at the local petshop and theyre the size of my thumb!

  • WTF do you feed him? Children?? XD JK Awesome fish!

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan

    hahahhaa

  • remember these r fish an not people the big bala is a year old so theres nothing wrong with the size of the tank or how theres different spieces, pet shops r far more overcrowded.sweet tank mate!

  • poor fighys! there all crammed! i hate you for animal abuse!

  • discus and gourami with an oscar??

  • looks like a bream fish you catch from fishing in the UK

  • what gourami is that @ 0:05-0:07??

    moonlight gourami?

  • cool fish. i don't know why people complain that the fish are crowded. so long as there is enough food and they aren't fighting they'll be fine, as that means they aren't stressing. and come on people fish are food primarily anyway, so no need to be so sentimental imo.

  • omg his big i have one but its still small.. how long did was it until your bala got big.??

  • Eveybody thinks they know everything. Dude, if the fish are swimming around instead of floating sideways, then shut the fuck up. All these fish come from huge lakes and rivers so unless you can provide that, every fish tank ever created is too small. All they do in their life is eat, shit and mate. I think the tank is just fine. BUT I'M NO EXPERT.

  • THEY CAN GROW UP TO 18 INCHES LONG...SOOOO NOT A WORLD RECORD FISH LOL

  • Comment removed

  • hes fat

  • are you juicing your bala? One year old thats crazy.

  • WTF como raios tiene ese licuado de peces

  • just bought two little black molly today for the first time for me and my boyfriends 8 month anniversary we both where going to get a bala shark

  • poor discus and that tank is crowded i have a normal size bala shark in my tank though with 2 discus.

  • he is big hope my bala get that big!

  • why on earth are discus in there

  • WTF are u feeding it

  • Are silver sharks and Bala sharks the same ?

  • Discus+Firemouth+Bala Sharks+Gourami=Uh-Oh...

  • @DudeoftheOcean Don't forget that Oscar haha

  • wow.. it looks like an wild goldfish :)) this is not a shark :))

  • 12 inches is the typical size of this fish... not a monster

  • Your fish seem fine to me, although if they got bigger or if you wanted more an upgrade would certainly be in order. Although I'm sure you already knew that, and even if you didn't, you do now, since people have been commenting here with random overstocking debates for over 2 years. I love bala sharks; I once had one as long as my forearm (I was 11 at the time, so my forearm wasn't very long, but still). They're very peaceful fish and very good for a community tank that can handle their size.

  • I agree with dezemer! People are so uptight with overcrowding of fish, when we have no idea how much you feed, what filtration you have, how often you test the water, how often you change the water, your financial position.......etc. I know the discus seems a bit out of place, but you seem as though you are constantly monitoring them all, so if it works it works!! I'm sure you'll do something if things get out of hand....keep on keeping bro and bring on that HUGE BALA dude!!!

  • Can u guys look at my video and comment and give me suggestions on my tank please and thank u

  • thats not a world record in petsmart they sell balas that 14'

  • Don't worry about peoples comments. They talk about cichlids and oscars being in that tank. Oscars ARE CICHLIDS. I have tried many different species of fish together. Many times the same species of fish will have totally different personalities. Oscars are a prime example. Some are agressive, some are quite docile. Glad you have success in mixing these fish. they all look healthy from the video.

    Cheers

  • that's so big. My 1-yr old silver sharks only measure 7cm. I love them.

  • cichlids an bala sharks and oscars are all agresive so ya it works

  • I think it looks sick and big

  • All you jealous people need to stop ragging on the man just because he has a tank nicer than yours. The man has a 170 gallon tank and by my count and observation it is ample for what is currently in there. He mad need to upgrade in the future but for all you "Know it alls" who don't know what you're talking about, what he has is currently sufficient. By the way, who said certain fish can only be kept with certain fish??? If it work in the wild it can work for you too.

  • cichlids with bala sharks? that works out? and is that one an oscar?

  • what are you feeding them?

  • hey what knid of gourami u have n what size r they?

  • Checkout my large BALA sharks in a 200 gallon 7FTX2FTX2FT aquarium on my page.......THEY ARE HUGE......

  • ive seen pictures of bala sharks supposedly over 20 inches, so if you take care of him he should get much bigger

  • Nice tank. Very envious of your secret in keeping discus with such big fish. Is that an Andinoacara sapayensis I see there - nice

  • its not to small stop being jealous you c*****

  • how bigs the tank? everyone says its small but it looks big. I see that its overcrowded. if you had 2 tanks the same size and seperated the discus and got rid of a some fish in the origional tank then you should be good to go. but im no expert so i might be wrong but i know its better than what you have now

  • i just bought 2 this morning....1.99 each for small. =)

  • @pinoykillah18 haha yeah just be ready to have them for a long ass time b4 they are of any decent size. mine grew about 1 inch in 6months even on an accelerated diet and in a huge tank

  • @jquindel fed them small piece of squid, they ate it all lol.

  • Discus like to be in groups and having Discus and Oscars together isn't right. I would get a bigger tank maybe atleast 55gal for the discus and get some more discus like 2 more. get a tank for the gouramis and for the oscar. please man overcrowding of the fish

  • Please Thumbs up this so this guy sees it....

First of all, I'm glad you enjoy your fish, they are all very beautiful. However, I noticed you have Discus, an Oscar, Gourami, and even a puffer fish together in that same tank (which appears to be no more than 50 gallons!!!). Discus fish thrive in VERY warm water 79-86 F, Oscar fish as well as your other cichlids get large and aggressive especially towards ur gourami, discus, bala shark. Lastly, That puffer fish needs BRACKISH Water... Do research.

  • no way that you're keeping a discusfish in that tank with those fishes D:

  • cool man, you have firemouth, Bala shark and Gourami just like my tank.

  • @Cheazyelectra ur right theirs a difference with the pet store and the home display I wondering what tanks to u have and what fish

  • Hi there, i have not seen my 3 bala s eat anything since i got them 1 month back....have been feeding floating baby pellets, colour enhancing food, algae wafers,,,,bala don't eat any damn thing.....how are they survivng...??? how to feed them.....plz help...

  • @BAHADURKAMAR You could try some blood worms or something, something that will sink and make it sink near to them, i don't have any experience with bala sharks so i don't know but it is how i got my silver dollars to eat, they were very skittish when i first got them and when i went to feed them they hid in the corner so i dropped some sinking pellets and it sank next to them and they ate, i don't know if it will help but i hope so!

  • I think that people shouldn't bother this guy for the Discus, if they are happy with their tank mates and having no issues, than leave him alone :/

  • discus should NOT be in there at all no no no

  • ya your not supose to put discus in that tank and they need warmer waters to and they are peaceful

  • @CuNT0100 Discus are just money, if you have it then you can put them in whatever kinda tank you want.

  • @pac6010 that made no sense discus are not money they are fish.... that REQUIRE certain ends to be met

  • @CuNT0100 haha Ya they need water and food, meet those needs and they are ok. I know what your saying, I know people like you, they drink outta their discuss tanks and god forbid even a neon tetra shares the tank with them. I'm just saying that Discuss in the wild and in your tank are FAR more hardy than people give them credit for. You can put them in large tanks with other aggressive cichlids provided they have good cover and space to hide and the tank is well fed. As you can see.

  • @CuNT0100 I have done this myself back when I used to breed discuss and angels. That tank looks like its at least a 220 gallon if that balas 12 inchs so that plenty of room for fish as long as you change about 50% of the water weekly you should see no problems. Plus Oscars and Fire mouths are like the most timid of of the south Americans anyways, they aren't that aggressive if given room and hiding. All fish are different and your results WILL vary....but it can be done.

  • you might have had it for a year but that bala shark is not 1 year old.

btw, whats that cichlid in the back at 0:30? looks kinda like a green terror but not sure.

  • @Cheazyelectra

Lol I'll have to tell that to the thousands of petshops who keep dozens of cory cats in a medium sized tank -_-

  • @Kcon83

Keeping lots of fish in a pet store tank is one thing, because they are only in the store for a sort amount of time. But have fish crammed into a display tank for there whole life is totally different. Yeah I agree, pet-stores do sometimes over do it with stuffing them into tanks. lol

  • Lol i can't believe you discus in there, they like 85-90 degrees, but i guess it's working ok.

  • how the f did u get him so big in one year

  • try catching a balashark with a net. They're strong

  • To many FISH? but nice !!!

  • pls answer quickly is a 26.4 inches long and 16.9 inches high aquaruim good for raising two bala sharks!? (i kno my english is bad but i dont care)

  • @Themrunkownguy1 umm if its around like 50 gallons its good :) ,but i think it will be good

  • @ACwalking I am afraid that your tank is 100's of gallons to small! :( your tank is far to crowded with fish, its sad to see some many fish crammed into one tank.

I am not trying to be mean or anything, but crowding fish can cause stress and disease. no fish should have to endure that. D:

  • @CheazyElectra Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

fish all look in good health and happy

    nice set up

  • @CheazyElectra lol do you see the tanks at petco?

  • @tekken47 Why yes I have, and your tank should never ever look like that. lol last time I was there they had mixed all the coldwater goldfish with all the warm water tropical fish :/

  • @Themrunkownguy1 Nope. Bala sharks are social fish, without having a school of at least 3-5, they will be lonely, stressed, and unhealthy. Also, they like to dart, and should have a tank at least 72" long to allow for them to do it once they get larger.

  • have u ever been to a zoo? if not go n see what the huge bala sharks are

  • If poeple didn't baby them then u would all b better fish keepers

  • Discus arnt as " fragile" as u idiots say leave them alone

  • there all big fish congrates

  • THE TANK IS TWO SMALL ! SPEND SOME MONEY BUYING A BIGGER TANK INSTEAD OF BUYING FISH

  • that is the normal size of a bala shark people thats no where near the world record thats how big their gonna get at adult hood and is that a oscar in their becuase their are a few fish in their you should not be putting in the same tank

  • obese fish

  • 1 year OLD?

  • what do u feed them

  • mines almost that big. hes got the length but only gets that big if i stuff him with food

  • BALA SHARK EAT DICK

  • probably not very smart to mix those with discus if thats what they were because discus get scared really easy and stop eating and die off. just a little tip

  • Some kid in the back needs to take a piss. Cant you hear him stomping and crying?!

  • nieko nuostabaus nes didelis akvariumas o beto tie rikliukai ir yra karsiokai :D

  • I saw a bigger one recently. It was close to 2 feet! I'm not kidding! and it was beefy! I knew they got really big but this one I saw in person was nuts. I'd say about around 17 -19 inches. No exaggeration.

  • Wow, I for one am jealous that you are able to grow your bala's so quickly. I have never seen one that big that is less that 3-4 years old. Also, the fact that you can successfully keep discus in that 'well stocked' tank defies conventional wisdom. Anways, I am sure everyone would love to know your secrets. Please share what you feed and how often and also how often you do water changes etc. THANKS! :)

  • you must have fed it hamburgers to get that big in a year!!

  • Is it weird that I wanna pick it up and hug it?

  • How did he get that ig in a year? What did you feed him?

  • i named my bala shark bruce too lol

  • Would never have thought of a pair of discus to be in here haha

  • it looks like a milk fish

  • your tank is way too small for that many fish. It's overstocked

  • Holy #$@*&%&^ that is huge

  • Dude, your tank is WAY overstocked!!

Clown Loaches are school fish btw

  • @crispycat5 take a sample of your water to your local pet shop, have them run a ph test

  • no way he reached that size in one year

  • Interesting choice of fish.

  • Can I keep a 3"Oscar and a 5"discus together ?

    Please someone reply

  • is that a oscar in the tank?

  • wooow....what a huge fish...is it agresive to smaller fish?...i have one but still little and i was wondering how it eill behave when it grows...

  • overstocked tank

  • I'm so glad that I could find a person who didn't shove a lone bala shark in a 10 gallon.

  • good!

  • what is that bright blue fish? any1? its so colorful for a fresh water
