  • Nice job. I recently built a treehouse from reclaimed timber and it was a blast!

  • man so great i wish ived done that with my Dad nice work man great dad

  • OMG, I built the same type of treehouse and me and my friends got the idea from a book. I think that type is called a "Perch". Anyway, AWESOME treehouse

  • how old are your kids?

  • I love this... its a Father and Son thing, can't wait to build one when my son gets older.

  • Chet Atkins is the best. Great job and happy your son helped ..... Or did you help him?

  • thank you

  • how much does it cost to build that

  • About $1000 US. I still have to put in a permanent zipline and I think the wire rope and hardware will cost another $300-$400

  • was it worth it?

  • @wessywess6 hell no!

  • aww thats such a cute video xD

  • wow thats awesome how long did it take you to build it completely

  • really wonderful : )

  • omg look at him use that tommahawk at the start haha weak..

  • you guys are soooo lucki...its nice to see you spending time with your kids and having a fun time doing it...damn your kids are lucki!

  • hey i wanna build a tree house and could you be so kind to make a video on how you madew it and how much cuase yours is one of the better ones of i seen... so please **REPLY** to me.

  • Travis, Mine cost about $1000. Get a book by David and Jeanie Stiles. They have several to choose from but I used it for a workbook. Had it with me the whole time and it was very useful in design and layout. Good luck.

  • the best part about this kpmull is that you doing a project with you kids, teaching something new and spending time with them.

shit! i wish i had a tree house when i was growing up..

  • very awesome video

  • hey! i love treehouses, except my dad never built me one, so me and 4 friends are going to build one at my nanas house! lol im a 16yr old girl....everyone loves treehouses!

  • I highly recommend checking out one of the books by David Stiles at your local library. Come up with a plan, start simple. Then gather your materials. It took me about six weeks of scrounging lumber from construction lots. Ask the foreman first. For safety reasons, Buy quality hardware. Use screws NOT nails, easier to fix when you mess up. Hardware was my only real expense. With 4 friends working together you should make fast progress. Have fun. Good luck.

  • wow.thanks alot for the advice!

  • i disagree with what kpmull said about screws and not nails. True that screws are easier to work with but in windy conditions alot of stress is put on them and they tend to snap and break, nails on the other hand will hold strong and keep everything together. I would recommend nails or bolts for the supports and screws for the flooring and guard rails

  • thats all true what you said

  • Mark has a point. I went back to work on the treehouse this summer and several of the screws had snapped since last year. I replaced them with nails. We'll see how they hold up.

  • Nails have a much higher "Shear" strength than screws do

  • lies, well screws grip better so they dont pull out

  • Seriously, there not building the ark.

    Nice piece of craft though.

  • Hey kool tree house! What is the name of this song??

  • Great filming of an unforgettable experience. I remember the first tree house my dad and I built over 35 years ago. Was a lot of fun then and still makes for sweet memories. Thankfully, dad's still around, too!

  • ive built a few forts, i love building them, just you , your imagination and the woods thats where you do some true soul searching and find yourself.

check out my channel for some great Do It Yourself Projects

  • Thats awsome, keep going don't stop. I myself wish I could build a tree hosue but what can an inexperienced 15 year old do without and funds? =[

  • Don't let lack of experience stop you. I have NEVER built anything ever. I found a good book and used some resources on the net for step-by-step instructions. If you have a vision and are motivated you can do anything.

  • I learned A LOT and made lots of mistakes. The treehouse is 90% done as of last week. Only thing left is the rope bridge connecting the zip-line launch and the main treehouse. I'll post a new video soon. As far as money goes I did the whole project for less than $800 with lots of salvaging.

  • great idea for a treehouse i might build one for myself

  • nice treehouse but you could have picked a better song... just a thought.. nice vid though

  • Cool
