  • wow, you look much better here, i like that ur being positive in all videos, not only in the latest ones where u look absltly normal. 10 days ago i found bells palsy on the left side of my face... i was crying so bad, though my bp not as strong as i see here on yt (lots of diff ppl, i'm not alone). anyways my doctor said its gonna be fine in a mounth.. i wanted to say that u did a great job and you look so preeety.. ^))))

  • @DinainAlmaty THANK YOU for the lovely comments. I am very lucky that I recovered as much as I have! Synkinesis sucks though, but I'm working through it!

Please take what your doctor says with a grain of salt. (My doctor ALSO told me I'd be better in a month! WRONG!) Im glad yours thinks you have a mild case... but you just never know how your body will respond! Get lots of rest and relaxation, that will help so much for you right now! XOXOX

  • Your videos are great and I spent a day watching nearly all of them when I was diagnosed with bp . I would like to share my experience as I have never known anyone recover as quickly as I have .

I was diagnosed with bp on the 17th feb 2012 . I am a complete fitness fanatic that runs long distance (over 10 miles ) twice a week and goes to the gym 3 times a week . On the 18th feb I went to the gym and struggled drinking as I have to suck through the holder, ended up wearing most of my drink . My

  • I got Bell's Palsy when I was 12 years old. I'm now 22, about to graduate college, and although it's gotten better I am still extremely self-conscious about it. Seeing how confident you are and reading your posts about embracing- even loving- your unique face gives me such inspiration. Thank you!!!

  • I think you're beautiful even with your squinty eye!

  • U r beautiful..... Wow.. keep posive.

  • Hi Jessica, WOW, you look so nice!!!!!!! I'd LOVE to converse with you, i have this condition, please send a reply back.

    Thank you

    Eric

  • Thank you so much

  • i only had it 2 weeks really mild ;')

  • HEY DONT YOU THINK EYE LASH REMAINS SLIGHTLY CLOSED?

MINE IS TOO .. THAT MAKES PEOPLE NOTICE WHAT PROBLEM I HAS :(

WHAT EXERCISE WE CAN DO FOR THAT ?

  • @kaushikdeep99 This video is 5 months old! I don't think my eyes have a problem now... I think it makes my face look unique! :)

I don't know what you can do to try to make yourself look symmetrical again. I have not tried, I think Bell's Palsy was a blessing to me, so I am embracing my changes!

  • @FitGirl15 at the time period of 1 year, i looked great as original but now its effecting my eye lash. When i try to smile it closes, not for me but for all others . So i have stopped smiling now as it seems like (•_-) many a times :(

  • @kaushikdeep99 Yes... that is called 'Synkinesis'... when the muscles in your face move when a different muscle is fired, as a result of a nerve healing and attaching to the incorrect muscle!

I found that this too gets milder with time. Perhaps you could do some gentle exercises in the mirror to challenge your muscles of your BP the eye lid to not close when you smile.

With Bell's Palsy, you really DO need to reteach your muscles how to work properly in some cases!!!

  • @FitGirl15 i try exercises you suggested but when i try to tightly close my both eyes lower face of the BP side to n end of my neck gets very painful strain for few seconds which i cudn't resist :(

    i guess its healing, right?

  • Hey Mam... What you think will it be ok to Chew gums to keep your loosened face affected by bells palsy? i suffered from it too but hasnt completely recovered.. :(

it been more than 3 years but with my eye lash closed most of my frenz notice it even now .. Trying everyday .. so help me if you can for sure thanks.. :)

  • Thank you for your video. I had this happen to me in May this year and for sone reason looked it up on you tube, found you and I so felt the same way, as if I had to do something to get it fixed. It got better in 2 months but still week. The picture I have now has been the ways it's been.i feel my eye week and blurry. I don't know if this is what others feel but it so bugs me. Again thanks and hope you get better soon.

  • greate job!

  • Wow, huge improvements. Great job!!

  • Guys don't stress out ! If you wanna a fast recovery forget that u r sick and live your life !

  • Hi fitgirl. I had a bell's palsy last 2007 but until now Im still suffering from its synkinesis. Back then, I was pregnant, we have no internet connection and no cable at all so I wasnt able to research about this viral infection. The doctors helped less & they charged 150usd for each consultation+acupuncture everyday. I've consulted for 2mos then I couldn't afford it anymore. Do you think there is a way to cure synkinesis? like everytime I talk feels like something moves in my neck, etc. :(

  • @lainellep1 I'm sorry that the doctors weren't much help o you. Mine weren't either. I think seeking out other BP sufferers is the best solution for healing! Doctors aren't well educated on this condition and their ideas for recovery usually just make things worse for future... like causing synkinesis and residuals to form.

Synkinesis itself is the fusion of a nerve to the wrong muscle... nothing can correct this once it is healed in this fashion except surgery and that is very drastic!

  • @chonchisxoxo LUV YOU!!! Thanks for your encouragement and support! :D

  • I'm so curious to know if you have had any doctors that were able to tell you what caused your BP? I've had plenty of tests, MRI included to see if I've had a stroke because I was in high school, and I think they've concluded it was a virus and I was just "sick" with it. I didn't see in any comments if you've already said it, but I'm just curious. x

  • @BrilliantlyBecks No. I never did find out why I came down with BP. I blame stress and hormones, combined with my genetic make-up.

Yes, I bet a virus attacked my facial nerve as well. When you are stressed out, viruses have a much easier time getting into your body where they are not supposed to be!

  • You are so positive. If I had seen this when I first had BP I would have had a much easier time. And you look great :)

  • @htclkm THANK YOU! I agree... I wish I had these videos when I first fell ill as well! :)

  • I've seen some of your earlier videos. You have improved tremendously and look great.. hope everything stays good for you.

  • @pulseblixx THANK YOU! I hope everything starts going good for me too :) hehe!

  • Good too see you recovering very well. Thanks for your inspiring videos. I'm sure people who'll encounter this BP will benefit from what you have shared here. I am recovering from same & I'm probably 85% back to where I am at 5 months ago. For my case, I can only guess that it came from a combination of physical stress and virus, although this stays a mystery to me, same as the doctors. The treatment I got helped me get back to normal, which includes facial exercises & eye lubricants.

  • Hi there, i've had bells palsy for 11 years. I recovered 95% but like you i have been left with some residual effects. I must tell you you look so pretty and beautiful even with your bells. You have made a remarkable recovery. Well Done and please stay in touch. Would love to share my bells palsy photo's with you.

  • Unfortunately you'll never make a full recovery from what I have experienced. Mine was about 7 years ago and it still shows ever so slightly. Sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn't. Any alcohol, sedatives or a little weed though and it's gonna rear it's evil grin for the time being

I'm positive that there has to be a simple treatment to attain full recovery but so far in all my experiments I have yet to find it. Herbs, proteins, amino acids etc. The nerve fiber remains frayed ever so slightly

  • I am glad that you are doing better. I wish I had tried more therapies. After 12 years I have come to accept my condition. But I don't like the synkinesis even after all this time I am not comfortable with it. I was never prescribed any cortisols or antivirals by my GP. I had to seek treatment on my own. I am sorry that you feel you wasted your money. I had pain and had to suffer through it; and with time it did go away. I do thank you for your videos.

  • I am so thankful to have found this channel Jessica. I got Bell's Palsey during child birth with my first child Nov. 10 2009 and it still has not gone away. I also have sykenesis (hope I spelled that right) too and I hate it. I have watched all your videos over a two day period and I love your spirit, I wasn't and still am not as strong as you I got really depressed and didnt take a picture with my baby for the first year of her life :-(. I have tried everything. Keep the vids coming! Sandy

  • Hey Jess< lovely to see you again, My fiance says you helped him get through the most difficult time in his life ever, and his is so appreciative of that! zumba love xox

  • My recovery from bells palsy is very similar to yours. I really enjoy watching your videos, you have a way of making bells palsy look cute..adorable even. I got bells palsy 13 years ago, at 22 it was socially very difficult for me. I still have good and bad days (mostly good), but like you nobody really notices anymore unless I bring it up. I live in Alaska, strangely we have the same last name!! I sent you a friend request, I hope you accept it, we have alot in common and hey..maybe were rela

  • Wow you are a strong woman, I got bells palsy yesterday and it was a huge shock because I didn't even know it existed., well only god knows how long it'll last on me thanks!

  • i've sicked with Bell's Palsy about 3 months, i'm so sorry with my right face can't move, and i can't sleep because i think so every day. i'm so sorry T^T. i wanna know it will be able to move?

  • @dookkieslove You need to stay CALM and strong! What have you been doing to help with reducing your stress level? You need to STOP letting this illness consume you... in my opinion that only prolongs the illness!

Can you take time off work? You need to destress yourself mentally before healing will occur as it should! For me, taking hot baths really helped me recover! TRY IT!

  • i've sick with Bell's palsy about 3 months. i really sorry with my mine. my right face can't move and my right ear has a noise sound same wind. T^T I'm Pirapon from Thailand, Chiangrai, Maesai.

  • WOW! I love to see your remarkable progress through out the weeks and months of recovery. I'm very proud for you! On a diiferent note you are very cute during your facial excercises, and I mean cute. You are a very beautiful woman with an exceptionally unique wonderful spirit. Everything will be fine. Take care! PS 1 vid a month? That's way too long for a vid! ; )

  • @sal70228 OH, THANK YOU!!! Ya know what? I watched a few of my earlier videos yesterday and was also FLABBERGHASTED by my recovery! WOW, I have come a long way... how did I ever survive the first few months? OH YA, having amazing supporters like you, encouraging me to stay positive!!!

XOXOX I couldn't have gotten to where I am today without YOU! THANKS sooo much!!!! XOXOX

A new video is on the way :)

  • There's only so many times you can read same crap

As you say does the steroids and antivirals help ..didn't me and I took them within 12 hours vit b12 b1 b6 and think its all BS

Your either lucky or not with BP but were lucky in other ways x

Why are you so sure it's not ramsy hunt may I ask ... It's identical in it's effect

  • @MrWonkychops Because with RHS you have a bump (chicken pox or shingles) in the ear, I did not.

  • if so how many Months

I'm using a tropic stimulator had it 4 weeks

It's £350 probably robbery but they know how to exploit desperation

I did £750 on acupuncture and that was load ?!@!

I had test to record facial strength

They compare good side with effected side

Wire you up and after 4 months my eye was 35%

forehead %65 eye 30% and worst my chin 13%

my speech is till bit weird especially when I'm talking loud but I'm trying to live my life stop reading researching

    There's only so many times

  • Hey fitgirl ... I'm glad you posted a vid I was missing my weekly update but once a month is good ... I like the way you are just getting on with life .. You can't be owned by bells palsy for ever ... It's certainly taken over my life for last 5 months

I wish I had taken pictures or vid of my recovery

I feel I have stopped Improving few months ago 3 months in

At what stage would you say you had your biggest improvement

Do you still see improvement now or you think it stopped few months ago i

  • Crazy. My recovery is nearly identical to yours. Same squinty eye and everything. My whistle is around the same, as well.
