Pokemon WORKS with online. There has been hundreds of dedicated Pokemon Wifi battlers posting and narrating battles for years, even with Nintendo's crappy wifi. The new Pokemon Card Game Online has become massively popular in a short amount of time. There are millions of people, kids and die hard fans who would pay SO MUCH MONEY to play a Pokemon MMO.
I would sell my left testacle to play this if Gamefreak got it right, and they do a pretty good job with satisfying fans.

I love how even blizzard is sticking pokemon in wow now. Even they know a pokemon mmo is a gold mine waiting to be tapped. Nintendo loves money so much, I just don't see what the big hold up is.
1st off fuck world of warcraft. 2nd yes there needs to be a pokemon mmo but they are mostly worried about the costs of it since they never did mmo's before. and when people make fan mmo's they sue them causing them to take them down. even if it was 3d it would be much better then their ds versions. But it's like talking to your grandma who's in her 80's about the web. They don't understand and people tend to be afraid of what they don't understand. So we most likely won't see one for awhile.
E) have the capability to create groups and shit F) have the pokemons level and have ranks for trainers so people know how good of a trainer you are G) make so you can only verse people who have the same level pokemon and the same trainer rank to be able to verse each other
i got some ideas: A) an offline storyline B) an online storyline C) the abillity to create your own storyline for both online and offline and you can add stuff to the storyline like ruining one of the teams plots (when i say teams i mean like team rocket, team magma and stuff), or can can do other stuff and cant cant go to the next gym until you do that part of the storyline plot D) have mutliple storylines, and have storylines that are only on certain days like halloween, christmas and stuff...
Also I think if they made a mmorpg I think it would be cool if they added new pokemon like every once ana' while. Then they could let you choose the region you start off in like Ash did and that would determine your starter, but you have the option to get to other areas after like you character level would be after 10. Yes I said character level, I think Ash as well as any of the other tamers have their own experience level which when fed into their partner pokemon makes them stronger (pikachu).

I totally agree with you my friend! I would pay for a game like this! Imagine a big 3D world, with loads of pokemon, trainers, possibilities, fun, leveling, experience, gyms, teams! Imagine if you could move and be more active with your pokemon as you battle. I mean you could have some basic TM/HM moves of the pokemon (4) + special moves of the particular pokemon + special combos that you do in-battle or something like this! Yeah, I would pay for that! :)

IDEAS: You have the option to control your pokemon during battle, so it adds fighting instead of just commands. Fully customized characters, tournaments, other ways to compete with people aside from pokemon (trivia, cards, time trials), different areas (snow, hot, blah blah) scheduled migrations, guilds, different pokemon training options aside from fighting to focus on one attribute (will make them stand out instead of just levels) pokemon breeding (for sale or whatever) property (houses, gyms)
i do agree with this.. im currently playing a Digimon MMorpg and there are a whole lot of different mmorpg out there that are base in show's or anime series that isn't even as popular as Pokemon but are gaining popularity. I don't think there should be 4th evolutions, however breeding trees would rock. Two separate Pokemon that have 3 evolution levels, once at level 3 they can mate. The offspring is a combination of the two with two other evolutions of its own. Even a Pokemon that has four different evolution level 3 outcomes would be cool. Make it more like Digivolution in a sense.
I remembered back then there was a MMORPG based on Pokemon. it was pretty kool, you get to adventure and have fun catching pokemon level up and fight other trainers as well as gym owners and the elite four. It was adventorous and badass! Loved it! oh yeah in the battle scene it's like final fantasy.

If you actually boycotted the pokemon games in question, Nintendo would have to change, because if they profit on making games that people buy despite how much they "evolve" (har-har) they just wont put much resources in it than what would make a nostalgic pokemon fan buy it to see what it's like.

Coordinators are now judges, Musicians are musical owners, Breeders have "god" status as breeders (what you mean Wailords can't breed with Blaziken? I am ARCEUS, BITCH!).
That's just for the folks who wanna be "honest". Don't EVEN get my started with the option of being part of a crime syndacate.
AND, just so people can check out what others are doing, have them at stadiums ALL OVER the Poke-world. A contest hall in Hoenn has different rules in Kanto (yes, I know in the games there aren't any contest halls in Kanto, shut it). A Pokethon in Sinnoh has a different way of playing games in Unova. Start small, then make it MASSIVE, still with those jobs available though so those that have them the first time can reap the benefits of being "veteran" status and get free shiz such as...
That goes for the "Musical Coordinators" and the "Poke-athletes", too. Make it hard and challenging, and make the payoff phenom. That after ALL that blood, sweat, and raging, there are just some things only available for your job choice. Musical-raised 'Mons are probably have a speed and accuracy buff (imagine those 55% chance hitters jumping to 95%), Athlete 'Mons have a different way of fighting, maybe a Att buff, maybe even scarred up from the stadiums, maybe even a handicap (sport injuries)
Have the option to have different jobs than being a "trainer". Yes, I wanna suffer. Breeder? Yes (in fact, an elite breeder would probably make ALLDAMONEY). Hell, make it harder, make it so breeders are the ONLY ones that can raise and breed Pokemon and make it an ELITE status to do cross-species breeding (something to be paid for) AND have awesome ass graphics/artwork just for THOSE cross-bred Pokemon (Ninetales f x Leafeon m = Vulpix pups that knows Energy Ball).
@neverafter89 Coordinators? Yes. Have elite damn graphics for custom made contest moves AND, hell, have the option to have the double job choice. A coordinator that moonlights as a trainer has the exclusive option of incoporating "contest" moves into battles (who doesn't wanna see an eletric ice ball comin' at yo face?). Make the prizes seperate from all the other prizes in game, make it exclusive only for that job. Not just ribbons, make ribbons with awesome sauce stat enhancers, premium ones.

Heres the idea of a pokemon mmorpg for all fans: - Story line based off from the tv series - Open world roam - interaction with other trainers - Wild pokemon as mobs just walking around and of course the ones that attack u - classic pokemon battle theme music starts as u battle - Send pokemon fight requests to other trainers - Battle arenas in every different region to vs npc characters or PVP - Have your pokemon walk around with you to show off and have emotes for it - Team rocket.
it would be cool if they had a huge world based on the other games and have all the gyms and have the rank of gym leader up for grabs so if you wanna go nuts and compete in game you can have something huge to show off but since its up for grabs others get their chance
How about specific pokemon that have a secret evolution and only evolve under certain special conditions that hidden until someone discovered it. Like Pikachu evolving into a Liger or Ponyto evolving into a pegasus or maybe a Piplup evolving into an ice phoenix-like pokemon.

As well being able to customize your character's clothing and everything would be a great addition to the game so you don't always have 1000000000 dollars that you will never spend. The fashion in pokemon games is always so bizzare that they could make so many cool outfits and costumes to keep people playing.
When you mentioned making your own gym I was thinking of the original series where Ash wet against the Sandshrew guy that had his own gym, and it all looked like a sort of carnival tent. So it could also be some where in a forest rather than a city.
it would be good if you could like have a mini dungeon which loads of pokemon go trough and kill really strong pokemon and if you win you get a rare pokemon or a pokemon which is only obtained by doing this dungeon
I have an idea. Everyone that's interested in actually having a Pokemon MMO should make a website or a petition and send it into Nintendo with ideas, story lines, and a list of people's electronic signatures stating that we ALL want an MMORPG even if we have to pay to play. The whole premise of the game was battling OTHER TRAINERS and experiencing a new world with pokemon and their TRAINERS, so why not make it so the trainers are People and not NPC? come on Nintendo, think this thing through.
They could have berry farms and things, you can add traps to your own gym, they're could be boss pokemon you can't catch above level 100 that you attack in a group, you could control your pokemon in battle I suppose like wow or have cutscenes for battles I don't think people would mind, start with the first 150 and add expansion packs for the each 100 after that, just have pokemon you can control and all the tactics we all know and love and some decent enough story.
I cant believe nintendo hasn't tried a total reboot of pokemon yet. pokemon is archaic, I have a hard time believing they haven't changed up the game formula yet, it's unpolished mechanics and limiting interface are outdated, and the entertainment dies quickly with all the monotonous game play and all.
I think the reason they haven't made a "MMO" is because they don't give a crap about the game. they barely stretch the imagination with the new ones with the exception of 100 new pokemans....

IDEAS: You have the option to control your pokemon during battle, so it adds fighting instead of just commands. Fully customized characters, tournaments, other ways to compete with people aside from pokemon (trivia, cards, time trials), different areas (snow, hot, blah blah) scheduled migrations, guilds, different pokemon training options aside from fighting to focus on one attribute (will make them stand out instead of just levels) pokemon breeding (for sale or whatever) property (houses, gyms)

i do agree with this.. im currently playing a Digimon MMorpg and there are a whole lot of different mmorpg out there that are base in show's or anime series that isn't even as popular as Pokemon but are gaining popularity. I don't think there should be 4th evolutions, however breeding trees would rock. Two separate Pokemon that have 3 evolution levels, once at level 3 they can mate. The offspring is a combination of the two with two other evolutions of its own. Even a Pokemon that has four different evolution level 3 outcomes would be cool. Make it more like Digivolution in a sense.

I remembered back then there was a MMORPG based on Pokemon. it was pretty kool, you get to adventure and have fun catching pokemon level up and fight other trainers as well as gym owners and the elite four. It was adventorous and badass! Loved it! oh yeah in the battle scene it's like final fantasy.

If you actually boycotted the pokemon games in question, Nintendo would have to change, because if they profit on making games that people buy despite how much they "evolve" (har-har) they just wont put much resources in it than what would make a nostalgic pokemon fan buy it to see what it's like.

The first, maybe, ten trainers from each region take over the Gym of choice and have "Gym Leader" status, retiring the NPCs (though they still hang around). Coordinators are now judges, Musicians are musical owners, Breeders have "god" status as breeders (what you mean Wailords can't breed with Blaziken? I am ARCEUS, BITCH!).
That's just for the folks who wanna be "honest". Don't EVEN get my started with the option of being part of a crime syndacate.

AND, just so people can check out what others are doing, have them at stadiums ALL OVER the Poke-world. A contest hall in Hoenn has different rules in Kanto (yes, I know in the games there aren't any contest halls in Kanto, shut it). A Pokethon in Sinnoh has a different way of playing games in Unova. Start small, then make it MASSIVE, still with those jobs available though so those that have them the first time can reap the benefits of being "veteran" status and get free shiz such as...

That goes for the "Musical Coordinators" and the "Poke-athletes", too. Make it hard and challenging, and make the payoff phenom. That after ALL that blood, sweat, and raging, there are just some things only available for your job choice. Musical-raised 'Mons are probably have a speed and accuracy buff (imagine those 55% chance hitters jumping to 95%), Athlete 'Mons have a different way of fighting, maybe a Att buff, maybe even scarred up from the stadiums, maybe even a handicap (sport injuries)

Have the option to have different jobs than being a "trainer". Yes, I wanna suffer. Breeder? Yes (in fact, an elite breeder would probably make ALLDAMONEY). Hell, make it harder, make it so breeders are the ONLY ones that can raise and breed Pokemon and make it an ELITE status to do cross-species breeding (something to be paid for) AND have awesome ass graphics/artwork just for THOSE cross-bred Pokemon (Ninetales f x Leafeon m = Vulpix pups that knows Energy Ball).

A coordinator that moonlights as a trainer has the exclusive option of incoporating "contest" moves into battles (who doesn't wanna see an eletric ice ball comin' at yo face?). Make the prizes seperate from all the other prizes in game, make it exclusive only for that job. Not just ribbons, make ribbons with awesome sauce stat enhancers, premium ones.

I have an idea. Everyone that's interested in actually having a Pokemon MMO should make a website or a petition and send it into Nintendo with ideas, story lines, and a list of people's electronic signatures stating that we ALL want an MMORPG even if we have to pay to play. The whole premise of the game was battling OTHER TRAINERS and experiencing a new world with pokemon and their TRAINERS, so why not make it so the trainers are People and not NPC? come on Nintendo, think this thing through.

They could have berry farms and things, you can add traps to your own gym, they're could be boss pokemon you can't catch above level 100 that you attack in a group, you could control your pokemon in battle I suppose like wow or have cutscenes for battles I don't think people would mind, start with the first 150 and add expansion packs for the each 100 after that, just have pokemon you can control and all the tactics we all know and love and some decent enough story.

I cant believe nintendo hasn't tried a total reboot of pokemon yet. pokemon is archaic, I have a hard time believing they haven't changed up the game formula yet, it's unpolished mechanics and limiting interface are outdated, and the entertainment dies quickly with all the monotonous game play and all.
I think the reason they haven't made a "MMO" is because they don't give a crap about the game. they barely stretch the imagination with the new ones with the exception of 100 new pokemans....

Nintendo have nothing to lose, they're in financial crisis at the moment and if they come up with this, it could mean a turning point for the company.

It'll never happen unless Nintendo suffer the same fate as Sega and can't afford to create a hardware platform and resort to purely being a software publisher. That or they'd have to have a console capable of running a game like this let alone an MMO version.
