I go out to Salem every year to visit family, and I never seem to see the freights along Front, or down by the riverfront or the golf club. I know theres an early morning from Corvallis, but I didn't know there was another one during the day.

One thing I've always wondered is how they actually put these really long trains together and how long it takes. I mean by the time the last cars are going on the engines must be half a way down the tracks. I'd love to see a video of that.

I think I can safely say that the tracks were there first and the road came later as is almost always true. The road probably paralleled the tracks for a time.

Awesome!! I am from Costa Rica, this is located in Central America, and trains run here just for transportation and they are not so popular here. @quad1000 like a couple of times in america. also in Europe there are tracks of a normal train (not them of a tram) layin' right in the middle of a street and they drive also over them. Thats a relic out of those days when Stret and Tracks was as close as possible.

Thanks again for this HQ video, both video and sound! I turned up my subwoofer and speaker system and enjoyed it in what I believe was a realistic loudness, so I could "feel" the engines hauling by.

It's a funny situation that you have there, in the middle of a street. Is it something like a harbor area? I'm glad I don't have to turn left on that road while such a "vehicle" was comming towards me.
