  • I play clarinet and I love it. I love how the music just flows outta me<3

  • we play that song in band but its called jubilate

  • Beautiful !

  • nice job

  • I have to play this for my solo

  • Finally! A good clarinetist!

  • this is a collect session?

  • Why do u play so good?? O_O

  • 2 years is not much.... she fucking good for that time..... and in some music schools they teach you to don´t show any emotion....

  • I need to start charging for my solos like she is

  • @slimeball6969 That was a donation thing being passed around because it's in a church.

  • @EmJoMilo how (why) is classical mozart being played in a church?

  • @EmJoMilo how (why) is classical mozart being played in a church?

  • @slimeball6969 That's a good question.

  • im only watching this cuz my instrumental teacher told me to!

  • i can't believe this is actually the supposed sound SQUIDWARD should produce.... :I

  • When I play my clarinet It makes me so happy I just love music x3 - Loves Skittlez

lolz i do too but i like it x3 - luves acrobatics

  • i play 2 not as near as good as u yet

  • What kind of clarinet is she using?? o_o Just wondering..

  • @luckyway111 At the time, she was playing a Buffet E11.

  • @chrishavel I'm using it too!

  • @chrishavel thats the same i play and i have had it for about a year now and funny how i got it, i went to a indy kart racing race (for my brother) and there was a yard sale so i walked over and saw the clarinet sooooooo i asked for the price and it was 20 dollars! only 20 so i bought it and got all the details about from my band instructer and i am the only one with a wood clarinet and i am only 12. instructer also brags about it to other people. thinking omg you must so love this thing

  • She is Absolutily Wonderfull at playing above the break on clarinet, tht is a very diffucult thing for clarinets to do cause of the Air they give.... i have been playing Clarinet for well over 5 or 6 years and it took me about a year to be able to play every single note ....now i play Bass Clarinet ((((: but she is wonderful @ it

  • lovely

  • beautiful.

  • like :)

  • @Feli926 The ability to express emotions while playing develops with time. It comes naturally. If you don't feel like showing a lot of emotion while playing, but force yourself to, it just doesn't work. She isn't showing much physical expressiveness here because she'd only been playing for two years. It's funny how many people get hung up on that. Personally, I close my eyes at most concerts. How the musician decides to show emotion is up to them; I only care about the musical outcome.

  • @chrishavel really? over time? im 13 and ive been playing clarinet bassoon and piano for about 2 yrs and i sway and do facial epressions wen i play its like im an entireley different person when i play..

  • @TheRegulated Great. So that's you. All well and good. I suppose you didn't do this right away, and the habit developed ... over time. Understand not everyone develops this habit at the same time, which is rather my point. Me, I just kick back and enjoy the music.

  • @chrishavel yea i caugh myself swaying alot at around the end of my first year and i seem to be the best clarinetist in my entire school, but thats my honest opinion

  • @chrishavel i like the way how u play the music...god bless you

  • hi!!! i just started to play clarinet 5 months ago and i really, really want to play like this in 2 years!! please give me an advice!!!!!!!

  • @ilianagarza Hi, I have been playing the clarinet for about 6 years. When you get to a tricky bit in the piece don't be nervous otherwise you tense up and you mouth become tight and you squeak. be relaxed and if you struggle at little bits just select them out of the piece and practice them individually so you get them perfect. Hope I helped :) And always have fun while playing!! :D Clarinet rule!!

  • @12345hoe12345 hi! thank you very, very much for your advices! be sure i'm gonna apply them!... the most annoying thing it's the squeaking!!! hahaha... i don´t know if it is normal, but i can´t control it yet, anyway, i'm still practicing to do it!!!... and yeah! clarinet is the best!!!! ;D!!!

  • @ilianagarza I squeak all the time, especially in my first year of playing. =D If it squeaking alot try losen your mouth. And I don't know if it will help but when playing think Low, and say Low in your head. That helps me when I'm playing a piece where I squeak. Anyway, Glad to help! :D

  • @12345hoe12345 Thanks a lot!!! it makes me feel unconcerned knowing that i'm not a squeaking alien!!! XP... i'm gonna apply that specially!!!... i'll keep following your videos... greetings and blessings!!! ;D..

  • @ilianagarza i will probobally take more than 2 years, i have been for 3 and i'm not that good. it will take more time than that.

  • @Annarocks43 hi!!! i suppouse so!.. i'm just saying it would be nice!... =P...

  • Lol im in band at my school and i play clarinet my teacher suggested we research our instruments to see what they sounded like outside of our beginning band class and well... lets just say i dont sound like that .. at all

  • JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very well done, your tone was phenomenal!!

  • ohh shit! good job!

  • did she use any vibrato while playing?

  • @mzblackcherrie listen and find out lol

  • That was good.. I have to play it tomorrow for a contest and I am sooooo nervous, I've only been playing for 6 months and it's a pretty hard song....

  • i played this for my solo last year for my second year playing also, WELL DONE!!!

  • Thanks chrishavel. Happy new year!

  • How come and u have so many views?I bet it was the first clip ever on YouTube

  • @minatsamou Beats me why some vids get views and others don't. The title and keywords help push the vid so it shows up as a "related video" when other popular vids get viewed, and the title is general enough it turns up in a lot of searches. Youtube was about a year old when I posted this.

  • @chrishavel lol@ this having 10x more views than ww w. youtu be.com/watch?v=Wg1pWZauSFw

  • Comment removed

  • @msRaver4eva Lol yeah :P But I don't have my clarinet with me since I'm staying at a relative (since it's christmas :D). I guess it wasn't meant to be... *sob*

  • @msRaver4eva I'm not sure about what brand it is, but it's a B flat clarinet. Also, it's really old.... probably over 15 years or so. It used to be my uncle's. :P

  • I play the clarinet in school band.. So how do you get that great sound? I've been improving on high notes so that they don't sound totally awful. But I can't get that full sound. :(

  • thers no way it was only 2 years! ive been playing for 4 and i prob couldnt play that!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow you are good! I play the clarinet also!!!!

  • @ 1234korg - sure your nearly at her level after playing for a year and a half. that level of skill takes years to develope. you could not master the clarinet in 1 & 1/2 years. she displays a lot of technique. post a video of you playing the same peice as good, and ill belive you. well done to the girl playing. great tone and dynamics :) x

  • @1234korg @ 1234korg - sure your nearly at her level after playing for a year and a half. that level of skill takes years to develope. you could not master the clarinet in 1 & 1/2 years. she displays a lot of technique. post a video of you playing the same peice as good, and ill belive you. well done to the girl playing. great tone and dynamics :) x

  • love it:)

  • amazing job

  • Wow! 2 years time would play like this.

I wish I would be that good after 2 years cause I started learning clarinet 2 weeks ago.

How much time did she spend on practising clarinet per day?

  • Your daughter did a lovely Job. Is she still playing?. I played in HS and I wish I never put my clarinet down. Now at age 50, I've picked it up again. Sure can't wait till I sound as good as your daughter? BRAVO.

  • Yes, she still plays and plans to keep it up when she moves on to college, even though she won't be a music major. Thanks.

  • aw great i was about to audition for an orcastra and now u made me feel more nervous

  • i'm starting tmorrow!!!!!

    can't wait

  • wow she is very good!

  • how long has she been playing clarinet when she performed this piece? its gorgeous. I would love to have tone like that. 5 stars(:

  • She'd been playing for two years when she did this.

  • @chrishavel two years? really? it took me until my sophomore year in high school to play that well. your daughter has some natural talent.

  • Nice:)

  • im envy u on how fast ur right hand moves i cant do it hey if u find jazz music can u send me a sheet i play jazz with my school band

  • i have to play this solo. she nailed it. Way to go

  • Its about time someone told a person off like that on youtube,

  • Comment removed

  • Wow man, your daughter did amazing. I can't get a tone out of my clarinet like that. Kudos to her!

  • Thanks. Three years later, and she still greatly enjoys playing. Time to upgrade her instrument again, I think. Now, where did I stash those gold bricks ...

  • Shes got beautiful tone!!!!

  • Excellent playing. Really love the clarinet. <3

  • Sigh. Whenever someone calls someone else "good," some people jump right in to crow about their own mighty abilities. Really ... chill. It's not about you. Really.

I just don't CARE how good you are (or think you are). If I did care, I'd be watching YOUR video. And I didn't post this to brag on my daughter. It's here so my friends and family could enjoy her first public performance.

So, please. Before you're tempted to post a comment to brag about yourself ... don't. I'll just delete it.

  • @chrishavel she sounds great! i have been playing for 2 years also and i don't sound that good at all!

  • good for you.. upload a video of you playing so//

  • OW... you must be very humble like a pro too ...

  • i'm first chair in band so its really fun

  • ahhh i always love to hear the sound of a clarinet without all the squeaks of my fellow 6th grade band members. Good job :). I'm 3rd chair so I guess I'm pretty alright but this is wonderful.

  • i wish i could play like that i started playing last year and im decent but shes really good. i guess i just need more practice. i play B flat clarinet btw.

  • listen guys, there is no such thing as 'that kind of clarinet'...A clarinet sounds good if a person makes it sound good, thats all..

  • actually yes there is such a thing as "that kind of clarinet" -- I've got a Yamaha plastic clarinet, a Buffet E11 and a Buffet R13, and each clarinet has a different sound, my plastic clarinet of course sounds worse than the R13, the tone is far too bright for a concert band (which is why it comes out during marching season only). Sure it can sound good but it requires FAR more effort than it would with the R13 or the E11.

  • You know, I always thought the clarinet was easy. But the other day I figured out it was harder than I thoguht! I couldn't get above a B-flat! I'm a trumpet player anyway.

  • at first i couldnt either but it got easier. my brother tried to play my clarinet once and no sound came out at all.

  • Yeah, most people think clarinet is easy, but there are so many notes and so many fingerings. Plus, it goes way higher than some people know.

  • Pretty good. I only wish their was more emotion in your playing, which means it was a bit sterile =(

But keep it up, you've got talent!

  • Nice sound :)

  • I wish I could play like her :-)

  • very soothing u play that clarinet. I wish I can play again, I stopped playing.

  • ya Im not that good

  • Probably a buffet... i have a redenour wich actually FEELs different then a buffet if you hold it....

  • Yes, it's a Buffet E11.

  • I have that kind of clarinet. They have a REALLY nice sound. Nice job
