Thanks for the comment...I had heard of the study you mention as well. There are a number of interpretations of the accounts including the one you mention and none are certain from what I understand. Others still maintain that it, in fact, it was children for the most part who made up the Crusade. Thanks again
The Children's Crusade is the name given to a variety of fictional and
factual events which happened in 1212.A study published in 1977 cast doubt on the existence of these events and many historians now believe that they were not (or not
primarily) children but multiple bands of "wandering poor" in Germany and France.Early versions of events, of which there are many variations told over the centuries, are largely
apocryphal.Peter Raedts' 1977 analysis is considered the best source to date.
those children through their innocence, make a sacrifice to regain the holy land from muslims.... even though its suicide... now islam had come to europe, let the sacrifices of this children in vain. fight islam , stop them from conquering europe.
The whole Crusades thing has always horrified me. The Children's Crusade seems to be insanity at its worst. It reminds me of "Hands Across America" crap I saw in the '80s. Remember competitive eating? People are so nuts.
Thank You this helped me alot for Humanities...
