The title confuses me. It says "Ladye" instead of "Lady". I'm german, and I couldn't find a translation, so could someone help me? Is it just an old spelling or another word?
From what I gather it's an English female name which means "lady" and also is an alternate spelling for "lady". You can search for "Ladye" and "meaning".
English was not standardised until the early 19th Century with the publication of the Oxford Dictionary. It bacame the rulebook for what is called "Revised Standard English" with standardised spellings for all words. Before that, it was considered to be narrow-minded to imagine that there was only one way for to spell a word. Even today throughout England, and much more so throughout Great Britain, the language is spoken differently in different regions.
